The Wrangler SR-A is Goodyear's Highway All-Season tire developed for the drivers of pickup trucks, crossovers and sport utility vehicles. Extensively used as Original Equipment on a wide range of popular light trucks, the Wrangler SR-A is available in a comprehensive range of 15" through 20" rim diameter sizes. The Wrangler SR-A is designed to reduce noise, vibration and ride harshness while providing all-season traction, even on gravel roads and in light snow.
The Wrangler SR-A features Goodyear's WetTrac Technology that molds an enhanced wet traction tread compound into a symmetric tread design which combines independent tread blocks, wide circumferential grooves and hundreds of zigzag sipes to promote traction in wet and wintry conditions. The wide circumferential grooves help move water through the tread for wet traction while self-cleaning lateral grooves in the shoulders help evacuate water, mud and snow.
The tire's internal structure includes twin, high-tensile steel belts on top of a polyester cord casing. Heavy-duty LT-metric-sized Load Range D & Load Range E tires are reinforced with spirally wound nylon to promote strength, even wear and extra durability.

User experiences show the Goodyear Wrangler SR-A excels in treadwear and comfort, with many 9-10 ratings praising long-lasting performance and a smooth, quiet ride. Dry traction and handling receive strong marks (8-10 range), aligning well with its highway focus. However, winter traction shows inconsistency, with some scores as low as 0-4 in icy conditions, and wet traction has mixed feedback-while many rate it 7-8, others report hydroplaning concerns. Though marketed as all-season, its snow/ice performance may leave some drivers cautious. For highway-focused use in moderate climates, customers highlight reliable dry performance and durability, but those prioritizing winter capability may find limitations.

...They handle fine for a truck. As noted, they are on a 4wd truck, not a sports car and I drive that way. I think there are some who complain about the handling are asking them to do what they were not intended to do...
My last Silverado had the Goodyear LS-2 as factory tires. This is my first truck with the Wrangler SR-A. I had seen quite a few of the poor reviews so was not expecting too much. But, I have been pleasantly surprised. So far after 15,000 miles they are quite good on the street/highway. Most of my commute is highway, about 75% but I do a lot of outdoor stuff on the weekends. These tires are quiet and smooth riding. They handle fine for a truck. As noted, they are on a 4wd truck, not a sports car and I drive that way. I think there are some who complain about the handling are asking them to do what they were not intended to do. Rain handling is fine. I do not experience random tire spinning when in wet conditions. I think this might have something again to do with driving style. We have had 3 snowstorms recently so I have gotten to drive these in powder/slush conditions. With either 4wd or AWD engaged, these Wranglers do just fine in snow up to 5 inches deep. Again, I have a 4wd truck and when the conditions are slick, I use the 4wd and in that setting, these tires are decent. They are not mud tires or dedicated snow tires and if you have a 2wd truck and drive in those conditions, then select your tires accordingly. If I spent more time off road in deeper snow or mud, I would probably go with a AT tire or even just put dedicated snows on for winter but I can not complain about the ride comfort and noise level of these tires on the paved roads. I have owned Firestone Destination AT and Cooper AT3 and those are good AT tires, better than the Wrangler SR-A in softer surfaces but a bit more noisy on the highway. With only 15,000 miles, I can not comment on treadwear yet but they seem to be wearing normally.

...Excellent steering response, ride and handling. Smooth and quiet - part of the credit goes to the truck with it's coil springs in the rear. Good characteristics have remained through the 33,000 miles.
Good tires. They deserve a fair review. OE on new 2017 Ram 1500 4WD. Alignment and balance spot on. Size 275/60-20 always inflated to 39 psi cold as recommended.
Dry/Highway: Excellent steering response, ride and handling. Smooth and quiet - part of the credit goes to the truck with it's coil springs in the rear. Good characteristics have remained through the 33,000 miles. Rotated twice so far and very even wear.
Wear : At 33K, they are about 60% worn. Compared with my last tires on my Tundra 4WD, Michelin LTX, they are wearing quite a bit faster.
Wet: When these tires were new, they were excellent in the rain. I had the occasion to drive back home from the Adirondacks in a torrential rain last year with about 15K on the tires. They were excellent and in my opinion just as good as the last set of Michelins. However, now with about 60% wear, they are still good in light rain but will hydroplane in standing water/extremely heavy rain. As expected with significant tread wear.
Snow: Again, when they were new and up to about 25K they were. decent in the snow for an all weather tire. Now with significant tread wear, they are still OK in light. snow but poor in heavy wet snow/slush. Again, as expected as tread wear has advanced. I will replace them next fall with about 45-50K on them for winter driving.
Towing: I tow a 6000 lb. car hauler all over the North East and these tires are very good. Even with the truck heavily loaded and the Mustang on the car hauler, these tires are very sure footed and stable. I am sure the truck/trailer combination is near or even at the gross combined load rating and these tires are excellent. Inflated to 39 psi cold. 100% happy with these tires for this purpose. The steering, handling and ride makes long haul towing easy.
Bottom line a good tire and for the money, a great tire. When I go to replace them, Michelin's will cost $300 more - a tough call for a Michelin fan.

...Part of the traction is obviously the 4x4, but I was very impressed with the grip of the tires...
I have a 2011 Ram 4x4 with stock Wrangler. I have owned it since new. The best thing about the truck was the first winter. Throw it into 4x4 mode and I could drive that thing through anything. I was literally driving around stuck cars, minivans and rear wheel drive trucks. Part of the traction is obviously the 4x4, but I was very impressed with the grip of the tires. Here we are 6 years later, the two rear tires are nearly down to the wear bars and the fronts still have some tread on them, and I will am not looking forward to snow. Last winter, although I never got stuck, I definitely needed to baby it a little on the corners and give myself a little extra room for braking. That being said, I never worried about grip. Even in the rain, I wouldn¿t say they were the best tires out there, but I never experienced a problem. Maybe my expectations are lower than some of the others writing reviews. Any way you look at it, I have been happy with the tires and figure that 70,000 miles is pretty good treadwear. And on top of that, the ride has been pretty quiet till the last year or so. One of the rear tires has a little bit of cupping and I think that is contributing to the road noise. I was considering looking at something else, but I would hate to lay out the money for 4 new tires based on someone else¿s recommendation, and then not like them. I think that I will stick with the known quantity and get myself another set. tg

...Very quite and comfortable, but they did get louder and harder after about 30K...
I rated that I would probably buy these again, because I hit a large sharp rock in the road and sliced through the tread. I didn't have a lot of time to research and shop around, so I had the dealer just replace all 4. At 48000 they were worn to within about 10K more miles left and didn't want just one good tire. I commute about 160 miles a day mostly two lane and highway. I also haul a 30 ft. 7000lb. travel trailer and have put a few thousand miles on them with that. Very quite and comfortable, but they did get louder and harder after about 30K. Decent traction in forest trails, but in a 4WD I shouldn't slip much anyway. I expect to get a year or so out of this set, but will most likely buy something else next time due to mileage unless I move closer to work.

These tires are comfortable, quiet, and with 47000 on them I have no doubt they will make the 50k and more...
These tires were OEM for my 2014 Ram 1500 from the dealer. Back in 2003 when I bought my GMC Sierra, Goodyear's were on it and I hated the tires so much I vowed to never own another set. Well I stood by my words but 11 years later I am finding that I love these tires on my Ram. Not once have I slid in the ran or felt like I was not in complete control on wet roads. I live in Atlanta and drive 30 plus miles to work one way. These tires are comfortable, quiet, and with 47000 on them I have no doubt they will make the 50k and more. I am almost at the wear bars. I have rotateded the tires several times but like most people not always at the recommended intervals. Having a Hemi with slip diff I am known to make a little tire smoke from the stop light from time-to time and these tires have never let me down. For those that complain that the tires don't last long or wear is not even, you have to remember that you are driving a truck of SUV. Our vehicles are not sports cars and if you treat them as such you will notice uneven tire wear. Also front end issues or bad alignment can also lead to tire issues. I will replace my tires with the exact same brand and model. That is why I was on Tirerack.com today, pricing them.

Comfortable well handling tire. As with most stock manufacturer tires this tire is designed to give them the most favorable MPG and Braking numbers. Its grip on acceleration is not very good at all, extremely easy to spin tires. Braking is mediocre in all conditions. At 22k miles I am in definite need for a new set of tires which is pretty sad for a modern set of tires. Definitely wouldn't buy them or recommend them.

...Also, the worst tires I have ever experienced on wet pavement in my 35 years of driving experience... Going sideways on wet pavement when traveling around a roundabout at a normal pace was my deciding point.
OEM tire that came with my 2015 Silverado 1500 High Country... Experienced premature edge wear even though they were rotated regularly and alignment was verified more than once. Also, the worst tires I have ever experienced on wet pavement in my 35 years of driving experience. At 30,000 miles there was still a fair amount of tread remaining, but with winter coming on I felt the need to change out to a better traction tire - just not worth the risk to keep running these tires. Going sideways on wet pavement when traveling around a roundabout at a normal pace was my deciding point.

...We all know they have terrible wet traction but for the price I thought why not!...
DO NOT BUY! I bought a set to replace the OEM tires on my Ram which lasted 55K miles. We all know they have terrible wet traction but for the price I thought why not! Bad idea. Terrible vibration at highway speeds, I had the set balanced 5 times at 3 different places with no success but slightly different vibrations each time. Had the vehicle inspected at the dealer no problems found. Goodyear replaced them under warranty and the new set was as bad. I had them Roadforce balanced which showed 2 of the replacement tires were out of round way past spec. Had to trade them in for a different model. Spend a little more on a set that won't ruin your driving experience.

Winter traction is a significant weakness, with ice scores frequently 0-4. Many report slippery on ice, unstable in snow, and lack of winter handling. Despite some snow scores 7-8, deep snow traction is inconsistent, leading to dissatisfaction.

These came stock on my 2017 Sierra. They're a great dry road/trail tire. They pack with clay mud really fast and don't clean out very well. They are not very good at starting from a stop on wet pavement once they get past about 25% worn. This past weekend I had severe hydroplaning issues that I have never had with these tires before. I would say I'm at about 33% worn now. I rotate my tires every 5,000 and keep them right around 38 psi. Most of my driving is 50 mph roads with stoplights with some backcountry oil/chip and gravel roads.

...While they were fine for OEM tires, I would stay away from this brand while replacing tires. There are better options out there for the price.
After a full cycle of this tire I felt compelled to write a review on it to help others making tire buying decisions. I had these tires all over the place - on road and off road in a variety of conditions, so I feel as though I have 'put them through their paces'.
First the positive - Dry traction, ride comfort, and off-road use these tires were great. While not the best for off roading they certainly held their own. Tread seemed to last the expected time or maybe even slightly better than expected.
Now the negative - Wet traction on these tires was horrible. They would spin on acceleration, felt unstable in corners while wet, and seemed to hydroplane very easily. This lead me to a different brand when I went to replace them, and after driving through some we conditions I can definitely say it was these tires causing the traction issues.
While they were fine for OEM tires, I would stay away from this brand while replacing tires. There are better options out there for the price.

The Wranger SR-A's came stock on my 2016 Silverado Crew Cab. From the beginning, I noted the tires performed poorly in the rain and snow. It's exceptionally easy to spin the rear tires when accelerating in wet conditions. More concerning is the tire performance in heavy rains--hydroplaning is a serious safety concern during highway driving with these tires. Now that I have 35,000 miles on the set, I've noticed road noise has drastically increased. I've routinely rotated my tires and ensured the tires are filled to the proper levels. I'm already considering a new set of tires--and unfortunately it looks like I will not be considering a set of Goodyear tires.
