The Y742S is Yokohama's On-/Off-Road Commercial Traction tire for the drivers of multipurpose full-sized pickups, vans, sport utility and commercial vehicles looking for heavy-duty tires that combine on-road capabilities with off-road competence at work jobsites and recreation areas. The Y742S delivers year-round traction on pavement, gravel roads and rocky terrain, as well as in snow.
The Y742S molds a cut- and chip-resistant compound into a symmetric tread design to combine toughness and wear with traction and durability. Open shoulder grooves and independent tread blocks enhance traction in off-road and wintry conditions.
The tire's internal structure includes twin steel belts on top of a polyester casing to blend off-road durability with on-road ride comfort.

Ranuras abiertas en los hombros y segmentos con bloques independientes mejoran la tracción todoterreno y durante las condiciones invernales.
La estructura interna incluye correas de acero por encima de una carcasa de acero para trabajos duros, con la idea de mejorar la resistencia contra pinchazos, la estabilidad en los autopistas y el recauchutar.
