Important Note:

Brakes are a safety critical part of a motor vehicle. Brake components should be installed by a competent mechanic in a professional manner. Any incorrect installation of brake components can cause a major safety problem or an accident. If you are not a competent and qualified mechanic you should not attempt to install these products, but should take the vehicle to a vehicle dealer or competent automotive mechanic for their installation.

Disc brake pads and rotors are wear items and as such, should be inspected regularly and replaced as necessary. Read More.

Heavier vehicles with larger brake systems are more likely to experience higher temperatures, requiring a brake pad that has excellent heat dissipation characteristics. Hawk Performance has applied their severe-duty friction technology to the braking demands of light trucks and SUVs. Their new LTS (Light Truck & SUV) Ferro-Carbon compound was developed utilizing cutting edge polymer research, advanced carbon fiber processing, on-vehicle field evaluations and extensive dynamometer testing. The new compound combines the durability of Hawk Performance's commercial fleet products with the elevated stopping power of its performance street and motorsports formulations.

Features & Benefits

  • Improved braking over standard replacement pads
  • Smooth engagement
  • Extremely fade resistant
  • Low noise output
  • Low dust output
  • Extended pad life
  • Increased rotor life

Brake pads are wear items and as such, should be inspected regularly and replaced as necessary. Pads should be replaced when approximately 1/8th inch of friction material remains on the steel backing plate.

Note: Even though Hawk Performance burnishes its brake pads as a final step in the factory, all brake pads have to be bedded-in with the rotors (new or used) that they will be used against. Properly bedding-in new brake pads results in a transfer film being generated at the pad and rotor interface to maximize brake performance.

These are great brake pads. Hauling heavy loads down the same hills, where the factory brakes would not stop the truck at the bottom of the hill, these brakes always have plenty of stopping power. Have never experienced brake fade, of any kind, with these brake pads, and they always shut the truck down at high speeds, without hesitation.

The Hawk pads are working well in city driving. I have not yet had an opportunity to experience their performance in mountain driving, but based on their performance in town I'm expecting good things.

The Hawk LTS Brake Pads, Part No. HB933Y.633 DO NOT fit the Ford Bronco, and likely do not fit the Ford Ranger. The pads jump around in the calipers due to unacceptable tolerances and the fact that Hawk does not use anti-vibration or retention clips/pins. This causes a wild metal rattling sound when going over even the smallest of bumps. I have brought this to Hawk s attention and they have represented that since the pads are performing braking functions without issue, then they will not warranty the product - even though it is defectively designed. These pads and my experience dealing with Hawk have been incredibly disappointing.
