Pirelli Scorpion All Terrain Plus All-Terrain Tire for Jeeps, 4x4 SUVs & Trucks in 265/70R17

Wet traction is really quite good, which is what I was looking for when I bought the tires. Previous tires were Goodyear Wrangler Adventure Kevlar, for comparison. Those tires were like driving on ice in any wet condition. The Scorpions do not break traction accidentally so in that regard they are way better. However, these tires are loud. And ugly. Tire bloom is constantly present, so basically these are brown tires. Also, the white lettering is poorly done, with some areas that are more black than white, and uneven line width. White letters are a cosmetic feature - they are meant to look good and these just really don't. As far as wear goes, they seem very good. I do 5 tire rotation every 3k and have no uneven wear. I've had some issues with balancing them. I had read other reviews that said they balanced easily with little weight, that is not my experience. I've had them balanced twice.

Wear has been great, improved wet and dry traction over previous Firestone Destination tires. Virtually no road noise and braking and steering control is also much improved.

Best tires I have on the Jeep, great for New England's weather. Great on wet/leafy roads as well as snow.

I just replaced these tires with the same exact tire after 60000+ miles put on them. Never had any issues and they were great on road and off road. Of course as they wore they did have noise but i never thought it was too bad. However after having the new ones installed I really forgot how quiet a ride these tires are. They do great in snow, I live in NE Ohio and even with the old set they still performed well. Towing boats is no problem either I have towed both my 17' duck hunting boat and my 19' fishing boat all over Ohio, Michigan and New York, tires performed excellent on all types of ramps including those steep ramps down on the Ohio River. Traction in all conditions was great! I don't have anything negative to say about this tire.

this tire is a low noise and good traction tire. it does superior on winding roads with no tire squeal or slip. snow traction is top notch and treadwear is 50k+. a all around all terrane tire that performs well on the street. this is my second set and plan on it being my third when the time comes.

These Pirelli Scorpions are incredible tires. They truly transformed all aspects of performance when compared to the OEM Wrangler’s. Although more aggressive, I am impressed with how quiet they are.
The ride, handling wet and snow capabilities continue to impressive.

They grip the road like a sports car. Do good off road too. I was a little worried about getting crap. For putting Pirelli's on my work truck. But are taking a daily beating and performing well!

Road noise and comfort are not great. Also tread wear only will last to about 30k before becoming risky to drive, easy to puncture etc.

What makes these tires a great value - is that they cost around $100.00 bucks per tire less than the other brands in this class. However, their ratings aren't that far off the more expensive players in this class of tire. They do slide a bit on wet roads when starting from a complete stop. They are solid performers in snow and on ice. They are also pretty quiet. I compare these Pirelli's to the Michelin LTX tires that came with the truck when new - and the first set of replacement tires - BFG KO2's. Both these sets of tires performed poorly when compared with the Pirelli's. For the money, I'll likely throw another set of Pirelli's on in a few thousand miles.

Tires are really great for Cleveland Ohio weather.

Deep water and or slush covered roads.

They lasted a long while too...I was able to push them to 60k miles...albeit not recommended since it's past 50k mark and they are definitely light on tread and hold very little of the standards compared to new or even half worn.

I'd buy these again.

The Pirelli All Terrain Plus is the first truck tire I've purchased more than once. The OEM Hankooks on my F-150 lasted 70,000 miles but literally left me stuck in the mud when I went off road. The Yokohama Geolandar's I replaced them with had some decent off road traction and were terrific on icy/slushy roads, but were bald at 35,000 miles. I'm buying my second set of Pirelli's after 47,000 miles (just shy of the 50,000 tread warranty). I could probably run them to 50,000 but winter road conditions in Iowa are not meant for rolling the dice :) Strengths of this tire include:

- Incredibly quiet tires for the all-terrain category
- Responsive handling on dry pavement (just as sticky as the all season tires on my wife's SUV)
- No issues in wet conditions with ample tread
- Simply the best gravel/dirt road tire I've ever owned (amazing lateral grip when navigating tight turns on gravel roads)
- Some of the best snow tires I've ever owned
- Limited use in the mud but the results were encouraging
- Towed my 16 ft boat without any issues

Weaknesses:
- Ice traction could be better. The siping on these tires is fairly basic and it shows on ice.
- Treadwear became a little uneven and slight cupping began to occur at 40,000 miles. Tires were still drivable, but began sacrificing some grip in wet/snowy/off road conditions

Final verdict: These tires were a great option for someone like me who drives pavement 90% of the time but who needs tires that perform well in winter conditions in the Midwest and during weekend hunting/fishing excursions on gravel/dirt roads with occasional 4x4 runs through the mud. A great all around all-terrain option at a competitive price point both times I've purchased. Highly recommend if you're looking for a budget all-terrain tire.
