The WinterCommand (SUV) is Goodyear's Studdable Winter / Snow tire designed for the owners of crossovers, SUVs and pickup trucks looking for traditional wintertime traction on dry, wet and snow-covered roads.
WinterCommand (SUV) tires feature a specialized, winter-focused compound that is designed to maintain flexibility for confident traction in low temperatures. The compound is molded into a directional tread pattern with a continuous center rib for solid on-center feel and broad shoulder blocks for stability and clear-road handling. High-angle lateral grooves and open shoulder slots help channel slush and standing water away from the contact patch. The high sipe density tread pattern creates thousands of biting edges for grip in snow and on ice.
The tire's internal structure includes twin steel belts on top of a two-ply polyester casing to combine strength with ride quality, while two nylon reinforcement plies further improve durability.
WinterCommand (SUV) tires meet the industry's severe snow service requirements and are branded with the mountain/snowflake symbol.
Install WinterCommand (SUV) tires in sets of four only.
Vehicles should always be equipped with equivalent tires at all wheel positions. Goodyear WinterCommand (SUV) tires, due to their snow and ice traction, must be used in sets of four to help ensure proper vehicle control.

Good fuel economy. Great traction in snow, ice, mud, wet pavement. Obviously not like a deep-lug mud bogger tire but for bouncing around in the desert in a little 2-wd pickup these are great. Smooth ride and reasonably quiet on the highway. The only complaint is a side to side jiggling motion on concrete highways with longitudinal grooves. At my 30,000 tire rotation the shop reported tread depth 12/32. Google in all its wisdom says new tires are 10/32 to 11/32 so I guess wear rate is not too bad :)

I live in the Northern New York snow belt. We experience the entire gamut of winter weather including but not limited to lake-generated snow squalls off Lake Ontario. These tires perform well in all types of winter conditions. Icy roads, light snow, deep snow and "oatmeal" snow that occurs in urban area roadways. I ordered mine studded on all 4 tires (AWD) and my confidence level for winter driving has skyrocketed. I would recommend these tires to those who drive in severe winter conditions. They are an excellent tire for the money.

I have had them on 2 years and used in in the summer and still have tred left...
I have had these tires on all my vehicles they fit. I deliver the mail-in the country where the plows are not consistent. I only have gotten stuck once at a mailbox where there was ice under the snow. I have had it snow at night halfway up my doors and still, these tires have gotten me out no problem. I will continue to buy as long as they are around. I have had them on 2 years and used in the summer and still have tred left. I just bought another set yesterday for this winter. If you have snow, buy them! I have delivered for 25 years and so far these have been the best tires.
