The Raptor VR is RIKEN's V-speed rated Grand Touring All-Season tire developed for the drivers of sedans, coupes, minivans and crossover vehicles. Designed as a sport-touring tire, the Raptor VR combines good handling performance with year-round traction in dry, wet and wintry conditions, including light snow.

Featuring an all-season tread compound molded into a symmetric design, the Raptor VR utilizes a continuous center rib for constant rubber-to-road contact that delivers solid on-center feel and steering response. Multiple lateral notches work in conjunction with the four wide, circumferential grooves to move water away from the contact patch and resist hydroplaning, while in-block sipes provide the biting edges needed to generate all-season traction.

Riken Raptor VR Reviews

Customer ratings showcase the Riken Raptor VR as a strong performer in its Grand Touring All-Season category, with high marks for comfort (frequent 8-10 scores) and smooth, quiet ride quality. Treadwear receives consistent praise, with many users noting durability aligning with expectations for all-season touring tires. Winter traction earns positive feedback (7-10 range) for light snow and slush, though a few reports of inconsistent ice performance (scores as low as 0-4) suggest limitations in extreme winter conditions. Wet and dry traction both score well (7-10), with reliable grip and responsive handling in rain. Dry performance stands out with numerous perfect 10s for confident cornering and stability.

...These tires are extremely affordable and are amazing for crappy weather.

I bought these tires in July 2024. A year later and these tires are still great. I live in the snow belt of Northeast Ohio and drove through the craziest of storms. These tires exceeded my expectations 🤩!!!! I drove through 6+ inches of snow flawlessly throughout the winter. These tires are extremely affordable and are amazing for crappy weather.

The best tire in the snow outside of a dedicated snow tire...

The best tire in the snow outside of a dedicated snow tire. Great in the weather. On my 3rd set with over 100,000 miles on all of them. A real hidden gem. Tire wear is a little more than average but this is a real confidence inspiring tire for everyday driving.

...Surprisingly good match for car/SUV in the winter.

Great all around tire for the money. Tread seems to be wearing a bit faster than anticipated. Time will tell. Surprisingly good match for car/SUV in the winter.

The tires work. They even work pretty ok in snow, despite not being winter tires. I’ve driven from the East to West Coast then back to the middle, and have experienced no issues with them.

...They performed well in dry conditions...

I purchased these tires because they were the least expensive option and they were for a secondary use vehicle. I mounted and balanced them myself as I had access to proper equipment to do so and I had spent my high school years working at a tire store. What I noticed about these is they are very heavy and also very stiff in the sidewalls compared to the same size in other brands. These also took a considerable amount of weights to balance. Typical of a cheap tire. They performed well in dry conditions, and ok in wet conditions also. Also pretty good for an all season tire the whole winter in northern Indiana. They are not comfortable in the ride department, but they have worn very well. It should be noted that even at maximum recommended pressures the tires still squat even though my car is not a heavy vehicle. Even at the higher pressure they still are noticeably soft in the corners. I won’t buy these again because for a little more money per tire I can get I much better tire in a different brand.

...Was spinning out on hairpin turns before, got these tires and that simply stopped on the proverbial "dime"...

Mountain driving. No, an understatement as it is nothing short of crazy "Mr. Toad's Wild Ride" mountain driving, summer and winter, coming from flatland Florida. Was spinning out on hairpin turns before, got these tires and that simply stopped on the proverbial "dime". I've been a Tire Rack customer for decades and so appreciate your service and particularly your educational aspect as I otherwise don't know a thing about tires. Yes I recommend these and your company to anyone who listens.

...The tire is quiet and comfortable and show no real wear after 5K...

I was looking for an inexpensive tire for a high mileage SUV. I have about 5,000 miles on the Riken's now. The tire is quiet and comfortable and show no real wear after 5K. My experience with highway driving is mostly good but for some wander near 70mph that requires some minimal input corrections. I try to keep the vehicle under 80 on the hghway.

Where these tires excel though is as an everyday driver, tooling around town rarely exceeding 60 mph. They do everything on a good to very good level. More than adequate in dry conditions and wet weather. Braking is very good. Just don't hustle them over 65 to 70mph. They're not a performance tire and they slip on ice. I've had no real snow experience with them.
Recommended.
