The Wrangler DuraTrac is Goodyear's Commercial All-Terrain light truck tire developed for the drivers of multi-purpose full-sized pickups, vans, sport utility and commercial vehicles looking for tires that play hard and work harder. The Wrangler DuraTrac is designed to be a versatile tire offering off-road competence in dirt, gravel and mud with on-road composure in dry, wet and wintry conditions.
Wrangler DuraTrac tires feature a rugged tread compound that helps resist tread block chipping, chunking and tearing, especially during heavy loading and towing applications. Its symmetric tread design combines large shoulders and highly angled center tread blocks to enhance stability and traction in dry and wet conditions. Self-cleaning, stepped shoulder blocks, zigzag sipes and Goodyear's TractiveGroove Technology at the base of the circumferential grooves provide thousands of biting edges to enhance traction in deep mud and snow. Wrangler DuraTrac tires feature a rim lock that helps prevent wheel slip throughout the life of the tire and offers a built-in rim protector to help protect wheels from accidental damage on- and off-road.
Wrangler DuraTrac light truck tires (with the exception of the 255/55R19-size) are branded with the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol to identify they meet the industry's severe snow service standards. Specific sizes not meeting the industry's severe snow service requirements are identified with a "Not Rated For Severe Snow" notation on the Specs tab.
Select flotation LT and LT-metric-sized Wrangler DuraTrac tires are designed to accept optional #16 metal studs to enhance ice traction.

This is the second set I have bought. Both sets have excellent wet tract under 50k mile. the first set lost wet traction at that point, but still had plenty of tread, so I suspect it was an age (6 years) rather than mileage problem. This set is still great in the wet at a little over 1 year and 28k mile. I'm driving a lot more on this set. The last set I didn't rotate very often, and they got noisy at 20k miles and choppy tread at the shoulder at 40k miles, which increased the noise even more. This set is getting a 5-tire rotation every 5k miles and so far all quiet.

I bought all 5 tires in November 2015, rotated every other oil change. With the power train combo I have, makes spirited wet weather driving a woohoo experience :-). Fresh snow and deep snow ( 18ish inches ) is a breeze. Ice and hard pack driving is as expected. Here it is November 2024 and it's finally time to replace them. I'm definitely buying another set.

The Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac delivers excellent snow and deep snow traction, with most customers scoring 9s and 10s. Ice performance is very good (7-10 range), offering confident grip in winter conditions, though a few lower scores suggest occasional challenges on extreme ice.

Great tire, second set for me, first one lasted 7 years of full time use (like 50k miles) with a 3500 pound camper on the back. One time drove about 500 yards out of a large parking lot through waist deep snow on about 50% tread and didn't even slip a little, it was wild. Even on sheet ice, with the extra weight the hard edges on the tread always bit and held. Went studded this time for snow, will probably get another summer set. Only complaint is they bounce a bit, sidewall could be firmer for a truck camper setup. Other than that, no complaints. Drives well, lasts well, good traction in all conditions including the most demanding winter driving up and down Mt. Hood.

Good overall tire; good wear, looks, and dry traction.
Cons: Noise and wet traction. These tires are very loud, especially around 30-40mph. Louder than a set of Goodyear MT’s I ran on a JK Wranger. Wet traction is not good; tires are very easy to break loose from a stop. Thankfully hydroplane resistance is good.
The noise is the biggest downside which has me shopping for replacements with lots of life still left in these tires. Tires have been well cared for and rotated; they probably have another 20,000 in them.

...Gravel, mud, dry / wet sand, air down / up, OHV areas on the east coast, climbing hillsides in southern CO, I have taken these tires everywhere...
I love these Wrangler DuraTrac tires on my 2006 Lexus LX470. They are totally capable for my suburban existence of interstates and city driving, they handle rain and snow very well. But I can basically turn off onto any surface and these tires will do the job beautifully, the only thing I can think of that would be better is to have tank treads. Gravel, mud, dry / wet sand, air down / up, OHV areas on the east coast, climbing hillsides in southern CO, I have taken these tires everywhere. I can't imagine ever using another make or model. They are noisy and you just have to deal with the baseline noise. My airpods cancel the road noise on calls, but the noise is pronounced even with the Lexus cabin sound dampening. You can still have a conversation. Tread life has been great even with abuse and I drive aggressively, hard acceleration and braking, so the life of these tires has been gratifying.

These are the OEM tires on the 2025 RAM Rebel. They're good-looking tires with OWLs. It's a Load Range E tire that we run 55 PSI and 45 PSI per the OEM spec. It's a super comfortable ride and surprisingly responsive. My only complaint is that around town, there's some noticeable road noise (drone) that seeps into the cabin, but it isn't terrible at all and is expected for this type (offroad) tire. This is likely the quietest vehicle I've ever owned and RAM did a nice job isolating the noise as much as possible. I'll likely switch to an "on road A/T" type tire once these wear out.
I've had several experiences driving in the rain with these and it could be the 3.92 gears but if you give it any gas in the rain the rear tires spin so you need to be aware of that. In this truck we have 4WD "Auto" which I think I'll engage when driving in wet conditions to avoid the slippage.
Overall, a comfortable and good looking tire; just not what I really want or need for my application.

Overall I am pleased with this set of tires. They work well during the winter and are reasonably quiet and comfortable on the highway.
My only complaint is with the installer. Discount Tire charged me $35 per tire for mounting and balancing on factory steel rims. I will shop around next time.
