The Crugen HT51 is Kumho's Highway All-Season tire developed for drivers of light-duty pickups, vans, crossovers and sport utility vehicles looking for durability, a comfortable ride and all-season capability, including light snow traction. The Crugen HT51 is an all-weather tire that meets industry severe snow service requirements for the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol alongside its all-season performance.
The Crugen HT51 utilizes an all-season tread compound molded into an asymmetric tread design with an optimized geometric block layout for maximum treadlife. The five-rib tread design features a stiff center block design for improved straight-line stability and enhanced dry traction. Four wide, circumferential zigzag grooves create a vortex effect to enhance water flow-through, increasing hydroplaning resistance, while 3D zigzag sipes provide the biting edges necessary for light snow traction.
Beginning in the 13th week of 2017, all Crugen HT51 tires manufactured are branded with the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol, indicating they are severe snow service rated. Tires manufactured before this date may not bear the 3PMSF symbol, but all Crugen HT51 tires meet the standards required for severe snow service rating.
The tire’s internal structure consists of a two-ply polyester cord body for enhanced ride quality and improved strength. Two wide steel belts sit on top of the casing and are reinforced by two spirally-wrapped nylon cord caps, enhancing handling, durability and stability at highway speeds.
Note: While non-winter tires featuring the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol may provide additional longitudinal snow traction beyond what all-season (M+S) tires not bearing the symbol can deliver, they do not match the capability of a true winter tire in all adverse weather conditions.

...I've found that these tires provide great traction on dry pavement, in rain and in snow (of various consistencies)...
I was seriously considering purchasing a set of Michelin Defender LTX M/S tires for my truck. After reviewing and comparing the performance test results against the Michelins and other brands I found that the Kumho's score was equal to and in some instances better than. Combining the test results with the price, I decided to take a chance and I've found that these tires provide great traction on dry pavement, in rain and snow (of various consistencies).
The Kumho Crugen HT51 tires have worn well, +50,000 miles, as I drive a lot for my job as a Construction Manager. These tires are also quite comfortable and I like them so much that I purchased a set for my wife's vehicle, a 2007 Lincoln MKX AWD and am purchasing another set for my 2016 GMC Canyon.
For the price and performance, a great set of tires!
...They are remarkable in light and heavy snow and handle wet road with no issues...
These tires are way better than I expected. They made the ride so much smoother and quieter than my previous set, even my installer noticed the difference right away. They are remarkable in light and heavy snow and handle wet road with no issues. Steering responsiveness has definitely increased for the better. They are reasonably priced and so far, I would say that they are the absolute best tires that I've had on this truck including a very expensive set of Michelins that were, conversely, the worst set of tires I've had on this truck. (In their defense, the set of Michelins on my car are the best tires I've ever had but the truck tires were a huge disappointment.) I'm guardedly optimistic about the tread wear; however, time will tell.

...These tires are very quiet, smooth and excellent in wet weather as well as in snow...
So far so good. I have a set of these on another vehicle and they have been awesome so far. I have noticed that this set of tires has a slightly different tread design than what is on my other vehicle but I am certain they will be equal. These tires are very quiet, smooth and excellent in wet weather as well as snow. I think they are equal to the Michelin Defender tires which are also great just twice the cost. If you want a great tire that will last and give you great traction all year, these are the tires for you.

Bought these just before our trip to MI for Christmas. Quite simply, I love them. We left MI to head back to the Smoky Mtns after getting 10" of fresh snow. My 2005 2WD (RWD, limited slip, no traction control) SUV handled the deep fresh snow like it was riding the best snow tires on the market. Once we got to the highway, it was a slushy, sloppy, icy mess, but these tires performed flawlessly. Back in the Smokies, we get sporadic snowfall and heavy rains during the winter, these have exceeded every expectation and even a few hopes. I have 4000 miles on them, and no noticeable treadwear. My previous tires had considerable inside wear from the camber, but none on these yet. There is a very small amount of low speed (<35mph) road noise, but only if I have the radio turned off. I can't believe these are some of the least expensive tires that fit my ride. I will definitely buy again, and recommend you buy some too.

...Excellent dry and wet traction as well...
For an all season tire these are fantastic in snow. I used to run a dedicated winter tire on my Forester but not with these. Great tread ware too. still look great after 20,000 miles. Like 9/32" tread left from 12/32" new. Excellent dry and wet traction as well. Will buy again.

...They are very comfortable and virtually no road noise when compared to the Michelin M/S2 tires I replaced...
I bought these for my 2016 Chevrolet Dually. As of now, I have around ~15K miles on these tires and I am very happy with them. They are very comfortable and virtually no road noise when compared to the Michelin M/S2 tires I replaced. So far the treadwear has been very good both front and back. I pull a 4-horse trailer that weighs around 10K pounds empty and 17K fully loaded. I was especially concerned with treadwear on the back dual's with the weight of the trailer but so far no much difference from the front tires.

Tires are great overall but they do lack the ride comfort that other brands offer. You will feel 100% of the imperfections in the road but the noise level stays low. Traction is excellent and stays consistent throughout its life. Tread life is great with tire rotations every 5,000 miles I have about 10,000 miles left at 55,000 total miles. However I will most likely try a different tire that offers more comfort since it is a family vehicle. But If youre looking for a cheap reliable and safe tire this is the way to go.

...Coming from E rated KO2's, these are quiet, comfortable and great rain traction... I wanted a tire that didnt transmit every imperfection on the road, nearly silent, great wet weather traction and respectable handling, and these have exceeded that mark...
Tacoma DC TRD OR. Only 200miles on these tires, but initial impressions are great. Coming from E rated KO2’s, these are awesome. Quiet, comfortable and great rain traction. Been years since I’ve owned a highway all season tire, but for the price point these are perfect. No balancing issues. Yes, KO2’s were a heavy all terrain tire, but these Kumhos are exactly what I wanted this time around. I wanted a tire that didnt transmit every imperfection on the road to the cab, nearly silent, great wet weather traction and respectable handling, and these have exceeded that mark. Handling is better than I anticipated. The OE Goodyears had a lot of body roll to them and every turn or corner would be over exaggerated - but not with the Kumhos. They keep the truck almost as planted in turns as the KO2’s. 90% of my driving is in the city mixed with stretches of back country roads. I typically go with Bridgestone or Michelins but couldn’t justify the price difference this time. For the price, these can’t be beat.
Have not experienced off road, snow or ice with these yet so I can’t give an input there.
I’m hoping these tires hold up over time compared to the KO2’s. Those tires were done at 50k. Hopefully I get 60k-70k out of these.
For Tacoma drivers, If you spend a lot of time on gravel roads, off roading and/or trail riding, the KO2’s are unstoppable and I would highly recommend those for that style driving - I almost never needed 4x4 with them. But if you spend most of your time in the city/hwy driving - go with these Kumhos.

I recently replaced a set of Michelin tires that had about 75,000 miles on them. I decided that I did not want to pay a high price for a set of tires because my F150 pickup truck has nearly 200,000 miles on it. Did some research and talked to a Tire Rack Person about a good set of tires which would perform well and not cost an arm and a leg. He recommended these tires and I bought them. On the second day I had them I needed to pick my son up at the airport in a snow storm. Going home was very slick driving and I passed several front wheel drive cars on inclines, spinning their tires and going no place. My F150 was in 2 wheel high and I went past them without any slippage. Great snow traction tire. The tires ride great and are very quite. Very pleased with these tires.
