The "original" Battery Tender® Plus paved the way for smart battery chargers by fully charging a battery and automatically switching to a float/maintenance charge mode. Equipped with a 10-year warranty, the Battery Tender Plus is a 1.25 amp battery charger designed to fully charge a battery and maintain proper storage voltage without the damaging effects caused by "trickle chargers." Included is a quick connect ring terminal harness for hard-to-reach areas and alligator clips for an alternate connection.

    I found the 1.25 amp unit would not charge some batteries. The unit just got damn hot. The company said it, "just stand by their products. I still have it and their smaller one.

    I have owned several of these Battery Tenders over the years. I ordered this as a replacement for one that failed after many years. This one has worked well. It is not as sturdy as the original, but what is? I would likely purchase again, although would check out a few other units first to see if any seemed more sturdy in construction.
