High quality tire storage system. Easy to install and incredibly useful (for me). I'm thinking of buying another one soon.

Very sturdy storage rack. Well designed and the shipping packaging is the best that I have ever seen. It was wrapped up like a fine piece of art to be shipped!

The instructions are well done, but the only issue is the lag screws that are provides are not robust enough. I read that another customer had one break and I did as well. That meant that I had to spend a good bit of time digging out the broken screw, going to Home Depot to get another/better lag screw, and then proceeding to install the storage rack. The lag screw that I bought as a replacement was an 11mm versus the ones supplied are 10mm. Doesn't sound like much of a difference, but it is. And I am pretty sure that the one I bought is not a cheap Chinese sourced screw. If this item would have come with quality 11 mm lag screws, it would would have been absolutely perfect.

Oh, and yes, I did follow all instructions and predrill the holes for the lag screws. And I did not over tighten the screws. This was clearly an issue with the quality of the provided lag screw itself.

Beautiful looking tirerack. Black powdercoat. Very nice quality. Heavy duty and sturdy. It can hold up to 400 lbs -- don't have any reason to doubt it. Well-packaged: all components were wrapped in heavy felt and the box itself was double-boxed.

Directions were easy. I'm not known to be handy but was able to install it almost all by myself -- needed second pair of hands occasionally. The holes in the frame are 16 inches apart as per standard stud spacing since you will have to sink the lag bolts into studs. As other reviewers have suggested, I would NOT use the lag bolts that come with the kit. One of the lag bolts broke during the installation so I got better quality ones from the local hardware store.

Also, because I positioned my tirerack near the ceiling, that means I have to stand on a ladder to hoist tire-wheel combos each weighing 60 or 70 lbs. I don't think that that's something everyone can do. I can do it because I'm reasonably strong but I can see others struggling with that. So be mindful of how high you're gonna have to lift your tires and wheels when storing them. Also, I'm only planning to switch between summer and winter tires, so I only have to switch tires on the rack twice a year.

At one point, I thought the kit failed to include the screws necessary for securing the rods and contacted the Tirerack team. When the replacement parts arrived, I realized I had overlooked the fact that the screws were already inserted into the rods. My bad. You will have to obviously remove the screws prior to securing the rods to the tirerack.

Overall, very happy with the product and very happy with the Tirerack team. I realize there are other products that do the same thing for a little less money. But I'm willing to spend a little extra for better quality stuff. Plus the width of the tirerack is easily adjustable. I made mine a full 56 inches so as to allow a little gap between the wheels to prevent them from scuffing each other.

The product design is well executed and is flexible enough to work for many varying installation situations as long as bearing studs are accessible -- mine aren't anywhere near 16" on center (OK - garage was built in the 1920's...).

About the only feature I could imagine as being useful would be a way to raise and lower the rack surface to make it easier to access the tires when floor space is at a premium and leaving it at that level is impractical.

Excellent tire rack! This was the second wall mounted rack that I've purchased and they both are working great. It can be difficult to lift the wheels up to the rack, but I expected that. I use multiple step ladders to make the wheels easier to raise into position. The rack, however, is of high quality and I am fully confident in its reliability

All in all, good. I lucked the wall bumpers, though I wonder about impact to Sheetrock (will it create indentations). I like the bars to keep tires off the wall. I would add more holes in the wall mount bar to accommodate 24” stud gaps. I ended up creating a gap between the two tracks to hit more studs, and still had to drill new holes in the metal.

The rack is great and works perfectly. The only issue I had with the instructions was the lack of information regarding how close you can mount these to the ceiling. I had to make 3 holes until I got the hight right because if you're too close to the ceiling the rubber pucks won't allow you to slide the rack into the bracket. I ended up installing it 3 inches below the ceiling and barley got the pucks to clear the wall and slide the rack into the bracket. One other thing to consider is if you have corners or windows in your wall and you're limited with the suds in your wall available to you you'll need to make custom/extra holes in the bracket to get it fastened to the wall. I had to make around 3 extra holes.

A sturdy tire rack that is easy to install. If the day comes that the rack is not needed, the side rails can be removed. Well made. I store winter tires for 370Z on the rack then store the summer tires on it during the winter. Rack accomodates two 10 inch wide tires and two 9 inch wide 19 inch tires with a few inches to spare.

Very easy to install and build quality is excellent. Only downside would be if it's installed too high, accessing the tires might be slightly more difficult due to the weight of tire and wheel combo. It's solid and looks durable. Great storage solution!

I have a 1.5 car garage and bought this product because storage was tight enough as is to have a stack of tires in the corner. I have one issue with the product about the quality which is why I did not rate it. I cant use the product because the lag screws snapped the heads off in my studs. I was surprised that 20 ft-Lbs of torque on a impact drill snapped the lag screws. Id advise getting some extra 1/4 x 2 3/8 lag screws. got to run to the hardware store now. Also a better idea is drive them in with the drill but leave an inch to drive by hand with wrench.

An excellent addition to my garage. The seasonal tires took valuable floor space even when stacked but now they are off the floor and out of the way. The 265/18 tires are certainly not the biggest tire out there but they fit in the rack with plenty of room to spare. Mounting was a one person (and I'm nearing 70) job. The mounting bolts could be upgraded but all of the other materials were super heavy duty and finished very nicely. I've had a lot of compliments since mounting it.

This is a good, sturdy, fairly priced product. The main drawback fro me - the bottom front edges are very sharp - accident waiting to happen! I almost bumped my head a few times. We ended up covering the edges with thick rubber foam to mitigate the impact of an accidental head bump.

Have purchased two of these tire racks to store two sets of "off-season" wheels/tires for our two vehicles. They have been mounted and then subsequently moved to a new residence. Easily adjusted within their width specifications to accommodate tires of various widths. For garages with limited floor space, they are a great solution and why they were initially purchased. Only reason I rated them as "Probable" purchase again was if you have sufficient garage space to stack your off-season wheels & tires vertically, that would save the effort of raising the mounted wheels/tires up to the racks on a ladder.

The parts arrived compact and in one cardboard box. Every part is wrapped in protective plastic or paper. All the pieces are painted in a very durable textured black finish. The wall bracket holes are pre-drilled at 16" centers. After you are set to install the support rods, you should probably get a helper as it is a bit difficult to find the correct spacing for the tires in relation to the wall and have the tires are resting on the bottom two bars. Once it's hung and the tires are mounted, the rack makes for a nice addition to the garage or storage area. The best is that you can put about five or six performance tires or street tires on the rack and adjust the rack width without tools.

I bought this storage rack with my latest tire order on a whim. Floor space in my garage is constantly filling up with stuff and I wanted to get some tires off the floor where they get stacked in a corner. Installation was a breeze. I mounted the rack 6 inches from the ceiling and hefted up those tires. Now there is a nice big empty space on the floor. I am so impressed with this rack that I'm buying another today to store another set of tires off the floor. This thing is great. Do yourself a favor and get one (or two).

I've started autocrossing a car in a class with R-compound tires. Since the car is primarly in a "sunny day top-down" use profile (it's a convertible), I bought a second set of wheels and tires for racing. And my climate-controlled storage options were pretty much nonexistent. So I tried this.

It appears to be the same basic rack that a bunch of places sell, all for about the same price. Of course, this one has "tirerack.com" screened on it, so it's got that going for it. The construction and finishing is really good, I wouldn't have been surprised to find scratches, sharp welds, that kind of thing. But it's really well-made. The only thing quality-wise I don't like is the hardware, specifically the wall-mount lag screws. The BOM lists them as quarter-inch, but they're actually 5mm (0.20 inch), and they're soft. I snapped two of them, so I did what I reflexively wanted to do in the first place and substitute true quarter-inch pieces, and I went a half-inch longer (originals are 50mm, about two inches). I'd have probably used 5/16, if the holes in the bar would permit.

Anyway, once the wall bar is up it's easy to assemble. I've probably got a worst-case application - my tires are 285mm on 10-inch wheels front, and 335mm on 12-inch rear. I've got the inner spacing at 51.5 inches, against a stated maximum of 52. There's probably ~265 pounds on it, give or take, with the heavier wheels on the outboard sides. I've got about 3/8 inch of deflection in the cross rods at the middle; it's not much but it's a little weird to see. I'd probably have preferred a little thicker-walled rods.

So I think this works fine unless you've got an extreme case with wheel/tire combos wider than mine...maybe a recent Viper? I will probably buy another for my truck's snow tires; they're heavier, but also significantly narrower, so the bending moment on the rods should be less.

The tire rack storage system was easy to install and allowed me to organize my garage and regain the needed storage space. This rack exceeds the quality and price of brands I researched on Amazon. The installation took less than twenty minutes. My only complaint is with the tensil strength of the lag bolts. One bolt snapped as I tightened it to the main rail and wall stud. Other than that the rack is serving it's purpose, it gave me back some garage space and I'm pleased with the purchase and the products quality.

Installed this product today. Goes in very well and is easy to install assuming you have an impact driver to install the lag bolts. Looks good once installed. My only complaint is that the three cross bars bend with the weight of a single tire /wheel combination on it. With all 4 on it the bend was increased but still looks solid and doesn't appear to be getting worse. Would be nice if the cross bars were a fixed dimension and made from square tube that would support the load better and with less deflection than the round rod / tube design.

Great product - well made and easy to put together / mount. I would just let everyone know that you must leave at least 1/2" at the top of the mounting plate to allow the side pieces to fit into place. I made the mistake of mounting the product at the top of the wall and as a result I did not have the 1/2' needed to fit the sides pieces into place - I had to re mount the plate - loss of 30-40 min. So don't do it :-)

Excellent packaging. I had bought and returned twice on Amazon for the same tire rack (different color). Tire Rack really packages this product well. Each piece is individually wrapped and protected. With free shipping now, Tire Rack has the best price around. Installation was a breeze. Just make sure the studs in your wall are no more than 16" apart (minimum 5 fasteners into the wall required).

First off I'd like to speak about the huge need that this storage rack has satisfied. I had my extra set of tires stacked on the garage floor for the longest time and was looking for a way to get them off the floor and out of the way. I like to change tires/wheels in the spring and just before winter so I wanted them easily accessible.

Installation of this tire storage rack was fairly easy and straight forward. The metal strip that screws to the studs in your garage comes in two pieces and joins together in the middle. A total of six lag bolts are used to secure this strip to your wall which provides a lot of strength in supporting the weight of my tires/wheels.

I gave the quality of this product a 10 rating because it is very durable and painted perfectly so it looks great. The product was packed very well in the box and the metal parts were wrapped well with a protective cloth like material.

I rated the product design and ease of use an 8 mainly because the bolts used to affix the metal adjustable rods to the frame of the storage rack didn't thread into the screw holes the easiest and some went it fairly tight. Would have been nice if they threaded into the holes easier. I think three of the six went in hard and the rest were fine. Perhaps if these had a hex head on them instead I could have used a socket wrench to get more torque when tightening versus using an allen wrench.

Overall I think this storage rack is a great product and would recommend it to others especially if you are looking to organize your garage more and store your extra set(s) of tires in a professional looking manner. With a very minor change in screws used to tighten the tire support rods into the frame I would say this product deserves a 10 in the categories of Quality, Product Design and Ease of Use.

I hope this review was helpful in your search of a tire storage rack!

Straightforward assembly and easily adjustable to accommodate different wheel/tire diameters. It bolts directly to studs so width adjustability may be limited. Overall great product.

Just installed one of these tire racks for my son-in-law on Christmas day. I was very impressed with the design of this rack. The rack is designed to be installed on a stud wall with 16" centers and was very easy to install with hand tools. It arrived in perfect condition due to the superior wrapping material. The only issue was one of the lag bolts snapped off. The remainder were installed after drilling a pilot hole. I was going to replace the metric lag bolts (China?) with 3/8" SAE US made lags with flat washers, but being Christmas all stores were closed. This rack is being used to store 4ea 20' summer tires and an 18" spare.
The lateral adjustablility is a real plus.

Excellent from beginning to end. This rack is very solid and was easy to install. In fact, I have never seen anything packed so well. Double boxed and each piece was individually wrapped to protect it from scratches.

One watch out though, do not mount the sliding channel rails (initial step)) flush to the ceiling because you cannot get the side pieces in to the sliding channel due to clearances. It would have taken me 30 minutes to install if I had not had to take it down, fill screw holes and then remount 2.5 inches lower.

    Great product.
