Washington weather and a crummy cold blooded 22re megasquirt with smart coils turbo build with an even more crummy tune. And a leaky headgasket 1/2 the time, starts thank to this battery. Much better then the 11lb. Which is now going on its 7th year. I should be getting paid for my reviews?
The battery itself is amazing, 10 pounds less than the factory one. On a NB Miata that makes a difference! It has never failed starting the car, even after sitting for over a week while I was away on vacation. The only complaint would be the mounting system. The system provided worked after some modification - involving spacers made out of wood! Factory sized spacers for the mounting bracket would be very helpful, since the battery is so much smaller than stock.
I bought this battery for my Porsche GT3 because of it's light weight. I wasn't sure at first when I saw how small and lightweight it was so I carried around a yellow top with me for a while just in case. This battery performed just like the original did with the radio and the A/C on, it always started right up with plenty of crancking power. I only drove my car in the summer months and kept a battery tender on it every day, it is 3 years old now and it still works fine, but I just bought a new one to be safe as I moved to Florida and will be driving more often. This battery is great, lasted much longer than I thought. I will keep buying it.
Well, Installing the lightweight Braille battery is fairly easy. The product being 15 pounds is outstanding. One thing that I didn't like about this product is that the life of the battery is very short. I ran it through 1 winter and that was it. I was very impressed how it was able to start my car in 8 degrees F. I didnt even have the battery a year and it started going bad. Great Battery, Short life.
First purchase lasted 14 months. I would recommend that if you purchase this battery, that you save the OEM. Braille replaced battery under warranty, but be aware that YOU are responsible for freight both ways.
I installed this battery into my daily driver mazda mx-6. The stock battery had long needing replacement and I searched the Internet and found these had really good reviews. When I received the battery I was shocked how little it was! The mounting bracket took a minute to figure out but once it was adjusted for the battery it mounted right were my factory battery was with the hooks provided. Overall I saved about 16 pounds which is awesome. The auto posts included were a nice touch and evrything seemed thought out pretty well. I would recommend using locktite or something on the top bolts just to make sure the terminals do not vibrate loose. Can't believe this battery saved as much weight as my carbon fiber hood that was $500...
Installed just in time for the last snap of winter and started right up in 27 degree weather! We will see how this does during the summer.
