I bought this rotors in combination with Akebono ACT866 ProACT Ultra-Premium to replace my 1 year 7 month old Duralast-R1 Concepts Premium rotors(drilled/slotted)set-up; just installed both of them today. I did so as I started to feel some rattling during stopping and accelerating during cold runs, and plus I m not going to chance some bad brakes on my car. While the aesthetics may not be as appealing, I do all my driving in Honolulu and the weather doesn t really get bad for me and I don t drive a high-powered car, so plain rotors and pads from reputable companies will do just fine. I cant give an accurate rating on the "Fade Resistance" and "Dust on Wheels" yet, as I have just installed them, but I will post a update in about 2 months.

A Sienna van is no race car for sure but I always dreaded driving "the van" from the day we got it. The wive loves it so it stays. The killer combination that seems to solve many of it past ills is the Akebono ProAct ceramic pads, the Centric high carbon rotors and the Goodyear Assurance Comfortrend tires. WOW! It drives better than it did when it was new! I don t even mind driving the van now. Crazy. Don t tell anyone.

These pads are ultra quiet.

I had my brakes replaced about a year ago at the shop and they squealed badly and no solution could be found. I was told that imports sometimes squeal. I asked for new pads and was told that would not fix the problem.

I bought the Akebono pads and replaced the old pads in about 15 minutes. The squeal went away immediately. I haven t put a lot of miles on them, but stopping power around the city has been great

I have been using these brake pads on my vehicle since 2007. I got 40,000 miles on the first front set and rears have 60,000 miles on them. The rears still have more than 80% of pad still left. I am a Police Fleet Service Manager and this is the only pad we have seen to last more than 20,000 miles on a Police interceptor (average pads last 10-12K miles) that sees 80% city driving. Yes they are expensive, but they are worth it. We have also noticed that they stop shorter than the other pads we have used including the OEM pads.

I purchased the centric rotors and akebono pads combo to combat warped front rotors. They definitely work better than stock. The pads have good initial bite and are much more fade resistant. I don t drive like Mario Andretti so this combination works just fine. No more vibrating steering wheel/front end under moderate or heavy braking!

I installed these myself, cleaned up the rotors with emery cloth, then installed pads. My Civic had TERRIBLE brakes stock. It felt like I had wood for pads/brakes, now they feel very good. Very happy with these pads.

Despite the low mileage on the crossover, the OEM rotors started to generate vibration at any speed when brake was applied. It was particularly disturbing while at high speeds, so I replaced the rotors to Power Slot Alloy Cryo-treated rotors and pads to Akebono ProACT ceramic pads. I am happy with the rotors, and I expect them to be more resistant to warping than stock. However, the Akebono pads don t have the same "grip" that the OEM pads did. I have to press the pedal more forcefully to achieve similar deceleration as before. My wife observed the same issue and mentioned it to me without me asking or mentioning it, so I am not the only one disturbed by this. Now, I don t know if this means the braking distance is also reduced or not (it most probably is) but I am not particularly happy with this outcome. Particularly, since I actually asked this very question to a Tire Rack representative before purchasing the pads who assured me that the pads would provide stronger braking than OEM. I generally have high regard for Tire Rack, but I am displeased with the misinformation and the final outcome. I hope I won t have to make any emergency stops in the near future, and I will replace these pads with the stock pads that Mazda supplies probably sooner than the Akebono pads will need to be. It is probably worth mentioning that the Car and Driver Magazine had rated the stock brakes on the CX-9 as excellent. The shoes that the rotor/pad combination I fitted on the CX-9 supposed to fill were rather large to begin with. So keep this in mind when you read this review. And if you own a CX-9, using OEM will be a good option.

I put on this combination of the Akebono pads and Brembo rotors on the front wheels of my Camry in 2007. They re now ready to come off, at 99,000 miles of use without a problem. The pads still have a fair amount of life, but I ve recently started getting some pedal pulsing during high speed braking. I m assuming the rotors have worn thin enough to have warped a little. I can t say enough good about these pads/rotors -- good pedal feel, no brake noise, almost no brake dust, and good stopping power. Needless to say, I ll stick with this combination in the future.

the Akebono ProACT Ceramic Pads are an awesome improvement over the OEM stock alternatives for a few bucks more. Installed Fall of 08 and they re still going strong, just inspected and I have a lot of pad left, granted I dont brake hard or drive that much. The rotors I bought are rusting on the insides but I need to brake harder as the truck sits outside and I live in Northern IL. Mechanic advised to brake harder to clear the rust build up off. The pads are really quiet compared to the OEMs. Fade Resistance is hard for me to gauge with my truck. Pads leave virtually no dust, and I m very happy with them.
