During the scorching phase, each brake pad surface is super-heated to simulate the initial break-in process performed by the installation technicians. This additional step removes any uncured bonding agents eliminating the need for initial break-in and reducing noise caused by pad glazing.

Centric Posi Quiet Semi-Metallic Brake Pads feature precision cut or shaved backing plates that reduce vibration and noise while ensuring a proper fit in the caliper. Compared to adhesive or drift-lock style shims, Posi Quiet brake pads are designed with mechanically attached, application-specific shims that provide superior noise reduction.

    In my experience, rotors warp quickly on Ford truck and SUVs used for towing. This results in the horrible shudder that's especially bad when towing and braking down hill. I tow my autocross car at least 15,000 miles per year with an open trailer so excellent rotors are a must. These rotors have been fantastic for the past 50,000 miles of heavy duty use in all sorts of conditions. When coupled with the Hawk LTS pads they've been fantastic. No fad, plus they stop fast and in an amazingly progressive manner, even when towing in the mountains. I'm a major fan. Only downside is they do dust up the wheels but that's a small inconvenience to deal with for the performance and longevity they provide.

    Purchased the Centric Preferred Axel Pack for my 2011 cooper s. Rotors are great quality for plain faced and have held up aesthetically for the miles I put on them. The Posi quiet brakes however are another story. The Semi-Matallic compound is too metallic and causes a high pitch squeal from bad friction with the rotors. I have used them before with slotted rotors with no squeal but the plain faced rotor must not dissipate heat enough to keep from causing the noise. I d recommend opting for ceramic pads with these rotors.
