"Coil-overs for the race track and the road"

Originally developed for European customers driving at the Nordschleife track in Germany, the KW Clubsport Coil-Overs are for customers who demand a better handling car during track day events, but also require a setup that can be used every day. The suspension settings can be adjusted to meet the requirements of your tires and the intended use and can be combined with the independently adjustable rebound and compression damping technology to allow a suspension setup based on vehicle load, tire characteristics and different track conditions.

KW Clubsport ensures excellent handling, performance, agility and improved lap times.

  • Height adjustable coil-overs
  • Performance setup for the racetrack
  • Independently adjustable, low speed, compression and rebound forces
  • High performance linear race springs
  • "inox-line" stainless steel damper bodies
  • Optional racing top mounts available for some applications
  • TÜV approval possible depending on specification

Compression and Rebound Adjustment

Based on vehicle specifications, the rebound adjustment is made via a spindle at the end of the piston rod. Rebound adjustment controls car body vibrations and influences handling and comfort in the low-speed damping range. By using rebound adjustment, the vehicle can be fine tuned to the requirements of the driver – from a comfortable ride quality to a tighter and more responsive ride with improved road-holding characteristics.

The compression adjustment is carried out at the lower end of the shock absorber via KW's patented multi-purpose valve. The large number of pre-set parameters on this valve allow for a wide range of adjustment. The coil-over's low-speed compression adjustment range allows for significant changes in driving behavior. Increasing damping force supports the vehicle during compression and slows rolling motions for improved steering behavior.

My previous suspension, was original and dated by newer standards. Going to an adjustable coil over was a serious improvement. Initially, after installation it was more rigid over bumps and road imperfections but as it went through the break in period it achieved what I hoped to accomplish. Great cornering, excellent rougher road recovery enhancing the overall traction I was looking for.
My only initial drawback was it was pricier than some other options. That being said my expectations were definitely met.
I’ve previously owned some serious vehicles (DB9, GTR, NSX) and I was concerned about transitioning to a Mustang due in part to my driving style, which is aggressive. This Mustang has all the juice I wanted, now it handles extremely well so now I’m pleased with both the vehicle and my decisions regarding it and the suspension.

I purchased my 2008 GT500 recently which was previously more of a show car than a daily driver. It had extremely low mileage and nearly flawless but the suspension was dated being 17 years old. Switching to a full coil over suspension transitioned it to a significantly improved handling capability.

For me it now represents more of a spirited daily driver with improved handling in road conditions less than desirable (Memphis). I’ve had fairly significant driver track training / experience and the changes the KW suspension made in my ability to dial in or customize the ride I hoped to achieve was significant.

Quite honestly, the cost was higher than I anticipated paying but the results speak for themselves. The car has the power I wanted and now it’s fully equipped to offer the handling it wasn’t originally designed to offer. Essentially, I got exactly what I paid for.
