XTA Coil-Overs feature KW damping technology (exclusively designed for ST) that allows drivers to adjust the stiffness and softness of the suspension depending on driving conditions. The damping adjustment is made on the upper end of the chromed piston rod for quick set-up changes. Increase the rebound force for track stability and reduced body roll. Decrease the rebound force for a more comfortable ride. An adjustable top mount provides the option to increase or decrease camber and caster based on driving needs or vehicle set-up.

Lowering adjustments are made via a continuous thread on the galvanized strut. Adjustments can be made when the kit is installed by turning the spring plate higher or lower. Lowering amounts vary greatly by vehicle (between 10-75mm depending on the application).

The ST XTA Coil-Over's mono block guide and seal package reduce the friction of the damper, as well as protect it against corrosion and dirt. Struts are sealed multiple times, as well, to ensure maximum longevity in all weather conditions.

What a hidden gem. Basically KW performance at a discount. Rides more comfortable than stock suspension when you dial down the rebound and drives like a track car when you dial it up. Best of both worlds - car handles better even on soft rebound settings. Really night and day difference. Had mine for 6 years still working fine. Thinking about buying an extra set just in case I need to replace it at some point, but they are working fine so I don’t know.

My friends how have a MINI Performance shop, told me to only get this set up! And do not get the cheap set up available on the internet. Junk! To hard or to soft. and know real adjustments. So save your money and get this set up, and you will! love your car after your first drive and you love it every time you drive it. and it is also ready for Autocross if you a simply adjust them for the track! Installed these coilovers on my GTI recently, and are very happy with them. Of the 9 vehicles I have owned, 8 have been lowered, with the most recent 4 all on coilovers. This is my second time using a set of ST s (had a set of X s on a Miata and loved them), and once again I am very happy with the level of quality they provide. The dampening adjustment range on these goes from Cadillac smooth to practically rigid. I ve settled in on 6 clicks front, 5 rear from full stiff and the car handles bumps and dips great, very planted, with very little roll. The adjustable camber plates that these come with do transfer quite a bit more road noise in to the cabin, so if you are concerned with extra NVH, you may want to stick with something that has factory top hats. Also, due to the design of the shock towers on the GTI, the camber plates must be adjusted before installation or the towers have to be cut and modified to be able to reach the adjustment (not really a fault of the coilovers, more of a design flaw from VW). The rear suspension height adjustment also requires special attention or removal to alter ride height since there is only one spanner wrench used for height adjustment. This again may be something exclusive to the GTI, but the whole spring perch spins when you try to turn the adjustment collar. Also the rear shock must be removed to adjust dampening on the GTI. The front is capable of lowering the car several inches, the rear is a little more limited, but still can get quite low (capable of sub 24" fender to ground if the spring perch is removed and the spring seated on the factory rubber mount). Most of the pains of adjusting these coilovers are inherent to the design of the car, so I don t hold those against ST. Setup takes a bit longer than most of the other cars I ve owned, but once achieved, they re awesome. Overall, another outstanding, high quality, high value, product from ST.
