What vehicles can fit 33-inch tires?

Some models of half-ton 4x4 trucks, Jeeps, and SUVs offer 33-inch tires as an OEM option, particularly those designed for rugged, off-road performance. These off-road vehicles include the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, the Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro and Trailhunter, Ford Bronco Outer Banks, Chevy Colorado ZR2, Rivian R1S, GMC Sierra 2500 HD AT4X, as well as the RAM 1500 Rebel or TRX models.

With minor lift modifications and wheel offset adjustments, other off-road vehicles may also fit 33-inch tires, such as the Honda Passport, Nissan Frontier, Dodge Durango, and even the Tesla Cybertruck.

What’s the difference between 33-inch and 35-inch tires?

The difference between 33-inch tires and 35-inch tires truly depends on the tire’s manufacturer, performance model, and construction. While both tire sizes are available as OEM options, other off-road vehicles may require a lift and leveling kit to fit either size option to be mounted to your vehicle. Which size is right for you depends on your specific vehicle, driving application, and how much the tire compresses from the vehicle’s weight or potential cargo.

Do I need to lift my truck for 33-inch tires?

Select trucks on the market can fit 33-inch tires either straight off the assembly line or with some mild lift kit adjustments, depending on your specific vehicle’s wheel offset and suspension geometry.

To establish proper fitment of 33-inch tires on your truck, Tire Rack offers a wide selection of lift and leveling kits ideally suited to maintain the appropriate balance of ride comfort when off-roading.

One affordable option is the Rough Country leveling kit, which increases ride height to accommodate larger tires while improving CV boot clearance for off-road driving.

Another featured kit is the ReadyLIFT Smart Suspension Technology (SST®) lift kit, which is designed to provide a lifted stance while maintaining factory ride for an enhanced driving experience.

We also carry Ford Performance and FOX suspension kits built to meet the demands of off-road, high-speed, or daily driving.
