The iON evo AS SUV is Hankook's Crossover/SUV Touring All-Season tire engineered for the drivers of electric vehicles (EVs) in their larger form-factors such as pickup trucks, crossovers and sport utility vehicles. Designed to provide a comfortable, quiet driving experience alongside reliable traction in all weather conditions, even light snow.
Featuring Hankook's ProDurable tread compound optimized and developed especially for the heavier weight of EVs, the iON evo AS SUV creates uniform pressure distribution for even contact with the road’s surface. The naturally quiet operation of EV motors requires a dedication to noise management at every step. Rigorous adjustment of the tread pattern's pitch count and variation in conjunction with knurling patterns carved into the grooves to minimize sound are all ultimately assisted by a sound-deadening layer of foam for a low-volume experience. 3D GripKontrol sipes have been strategically applied to aid the four longitudinal grooves in resisting hydroplaning in the wet, and, if weather demands, offer additional biting edges for reliable snow traction.
The iON evo AS SUV's internal construction features a polyester body ply with a high turn-up for enhanced sidewall stiffness and durability to handle the additional vehicle weight of EVs and SUVs. Twin steel belts provide a stable base for the tread. The dual-ply polyamide reinforcement layer ensures predictable handling and high-speed performance.

Popular Tires for America's Most Popular Vehicles – 2025 Test 8 - With Winter Update(39:51)
The Crossover, or CUV, is hands-down the most popular vehicle in America. Last year in our CUV test, we used the Alfa Romeo Stelvio to test all-season and all-weather touring tires. This year, the field expanded to include all-terrain and performance truck products, representing the full range of tires drivers are installing on these vehicles. Obviously, with a test this diverse, it’s not so much about which one tire rises to the top, but rather how each category brings its own strengths to the table. When comparing multiple tires from one category, it's how they stack up against each other. So, sit back, relax, and enjoy Test 8!
Owners report excellent comfort with a smooth, quiet ride and strong treadwear longevity that satisfies drivers seeking durable all-season performance. Winter traction earns consistent praise (8-10 scores) for snowy conditions, though ice traction shows more variability with some ratings dipping to 5-6. Wet performance shines with reliable hydroplaning resistance and confident grip, while dry handling delivers responsive steering and stable cornering. The tire’s balanced capabilities across seasons align well with its grand touring design, offering drivers versatile year-round usability. A few outliers note slightly reduced ice traction, but most emphasize dependable performance in typical all-season scenarios.

...Fantastic wet traction. Never had the feeling of hydroplaning even at 80mph...
Great tires. Used as primarily summer tires as I have a set of blizzaks for the winter. Fantastic wet traction. Never had the feeling of hydroplaning even at 80mph. Holds great grip in highway cornering. Highly recommend!

Good tires when it comes to noise, ride, wet traction, all the usual stuff. My only problem is I've seen my fuel mileage drop 4 MPG after installing these with using the same air pressure as before. Hate to have to consider something else next time but I may have to.

These tire Handel great in the rain and light snow. We had a mild winter but I would feel reasonably comfortable driving in snow if I had to. They are also very quiet on the road.

...Live in MN, so lots of ice and snow driving - these perform very well, no complaints for winter use... Winter performance is very good.
I purchased these soon after their release, on sale and had an alignment done. Live in MN, so lots of ice and snow driving - these perform very well, no complaints for winter use. MPG decreased slightly from the OEM Michelin tires. Road noise increased. When aired up properly for the vehicle (36 psi) the tires look low. I get comments at gas stations - people think I have 4 low tires on an unloaded Grand Caravan - strange. Tire wear is disappointing, I am at 6/32" remaining after 25000 miles, will probably need replacement before next winter. This tire is disappointing, I expected more. Not a total fail. Winter performance is very good.

Overall I like these tires. They have good wet and dry traction. They do well in snowy conditions. I would consider buying them again.

...Observations - dry traction very good...
Installed these on my 3-year old Prius Prime to replace OEM tires that were worn out after 37,000 miles (ugh). Observations - dry traction very good. Definitely make more noise than the previous tires, which I attribute to these ones actually having tread on them. Have not driven yet in the rain. BUT - I immediately noticed a SUBSTANTIAL decrease in mpg. The Prius Prime can go on electric only if you charge it, which I do. Generally on a charge I get 33 miles before the gas engine kicks in, depending on how I drive. With these tires I get only 26-27 mpg, so at least a 20% reduction. I had seen this observed in other reviews. Will it change as the tires wear in and the initial stickiness goes away? Who knows? But you should be aware this may happen.

Most customers rate comfort highly with scores 8-10, praising smooth ride and quietness. High marks in ride quality highlight excellent refinement for Grand Touring All-Season use, though a few note slightly higher noise levels.

...Tire noise is pretty good, comfort is also pretty good...
I purchased these on a promotional offer when I was looking at Continental or Michelin options. They work great as a commuter tire but I am after more grip for the days when I venture along a windy road. Tire noise is pretty good, comfort is also pretty good. Tires don't have the nicest looking tread design or sidewall but as commuter tires, they're probably perfectly suited.
Vehicle: 2013 MINI Hardtop Cooper Miles Driven on Tires: 9,000 Driving Conditions: Combined Highway/City Location: NIAGARA FALLS, NY Driving Style: Spirited
Most customers rate treadwear as excellent, with scores of 9s and 10s highlighting long-lasting performance. A few ratings note lower durability experiences, but overall satisfaction remains high for all-season touring use.

Every time I go to get the car serviced the service guys make a comment on how good the tread looks. I love these tires. I loved them so much that I bought another set of BF Goodrich for my other car which I love even more. I will definitely endorse these tires and the price was reasonable in todays market where any good tire will cost close to $200. Thank you BF Goodrich!

Ive had these tires on my crosstrek for almost 40,000 miles. They have wore very evenly with proper rotation times. The traction is excellent in dry conditions cornering, beck road pothole filled roads and city streets. Hardly ever do I hydroplane, the snow traction is very well too. Never have gotten stuck or very rarely do I lose traction even at highway speeds. Highly recommend buying this tire.
