AltiMAX RT45 is a versatile Grand Touring All-Season tire for sedans, coupes, and CUVs, developed for drivers seeking a balance of all-season handling, comfort, and longevity. The AltiMAX RT45 offers confident dry and wet performance as well as satisfying light snow traction.

The General AltiMAX RT45 tire's all-season compound is molded into a symmetric tread pattern featuring robust interlocking tread blocks for reliable handling and satisfying dry grip. Four circumferential grooves evacuate water to promote wet weather traction and hydroplaning resistance. Lateral voids, shoulder slots, and sipes across the footprint create additional biting edges for improved traction in slippery conditions. The AltiMAX RT45 also comes equipped with technology to visually alert drivers of wear issues. Visual Alignment Indicators (VAI) on the shoulder blocks wear off evenly to indicate proper alignment. Uneven wear warns the driver of alignment issues. A Replacement Tire Monitor (RTM), imprinted into the AltiMAX RT45 center rib wears to read, "REPLACE TIRE" when change is needed.

The General AltiMAX RT45 internal construction consists of two steel belts atop a polyester casing. A polyamide reinforcement ply further stabilizes the tread to provide high-speed handling and durability.

Customers Say

Customers think the BFGoodrich g-Force COMP-2 A/S PLUS delivers excellent dry traction (9-10 scores) with sharp steering response and confident cornering, making it a standout for spirited driving. Wet traction earns strong praise (8-10) for reliable grip and hydroplaning resistance. Winter performance shows solid snow capability (7-9), though ice traction (3-6 scores) and deep snow handling draw cautious feedback. Ride comfort is generally smooth (7-9), but some note moderate road noise. Treadwear scores (7-10) reflect good durability for an ultra-high-performance tire, with a few users expecting longer lifespan. Ideal for drivers prioritizing dry/wet performance with acceptable light winter capability.

...Stability and response is noticeably better on both freeway and back roads, wet/snow traction improvement is night and day...

Finally swapped out OEM potenzas for these and like everyone else, wish I had done it earlier. Stability and response is noticeably better on both freeway and back roads, wet/snow traction improvement is night and day. Ride is slightly firmer in normal/sport damper settings, in comfort setting the ride isn't noticeably different vs oem. Also, Potenzas after 10k miles were much louder than these (again.. not sure why I kept them past 20k), this was my biggest concern given the aggressive tread pattern but has turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Overall I'm very happy I went with the BFGs over the Michelin's and Conti's I was cross shopping.

...Compared to any other tire, they: last longer, handle better (wet and dry), stop quicker and believe it or not, improve the performance of the car...

I have had these tires on everything from my current '17 VW GLI, to my '16 VW GTI and my 2012 Audi S4, and let me tell you, nothing compares. I have tried other brands that are "supposedly" better, but in my opinion (I drive 3 hours a day for work, in all weather conditions) these are the king. Compared to any other tire, they: last longer, handle better (wet and dry), stop quicker and believe it or not, improve the performance of the car. I will always buy these tires!

The grip is outstanding and perform amazingly well in wet or dry. Can't wait to try them in the snow, not that I want to drive my Charger R/T in the snow. But if I needed to I would feel confident doing it with these tires. I'm in a Charger owners club and people keep pushing for others to get 275 tires on the back for traction. I went with the stock 245 tires and have no problem with traction with these tires. Get them, you won't be disappointed!

...With the BFG's, according to the built in accelerometer, I have peaked .88g's in a left turn, .83 to the right, 1.05 front and 1.44 rear - with the tires warm... If the BFG's are cold, they break loose fairly easily from a stop, but they have stuck pretty hard a few times when I have tried to make some smoke...

Since there aren't any Dodges (2018 Charger Daytona) reviewed for the BFG 245/45-20 g-Force Comp 2 A/S , I thought I would weigh in. I drive 75% mostly dry mountain roads (Angeles Forest & Crest) and the RS-A2 Eagles that came on it were sketchy. With the BFG's, according to the built in accelerometer, I have peaked .88g's in a left turn, .83 to the right, 1.05 front and 1.44 rear - with the tires warm. I don't remember the g-peaks on the Eagles. I have had a couple issues with understeer but it was manageable. I expect some understeer since this is a fairly big and heavy car (4 doors and 4200lbs+). If the BFG's are cold, they break loose fairly easily from a stop, but they have stuck pretty hard a few times when I have tried to make some smoke. If it is cold and the car has been sitting for a few days, I can feel the flat spots until the tires warm up. They are a little noisy on the LA area freeways that have been ground down, but the noise is mostly acceptable as the exhaust is throaty and the car has a pretty good sound system. The Charger is a heavy car and I don't expect to get a lot of miles out of a set of tires, especially with the mountain road driving but the BFG's outlasted the Eagles by 6,000 miles. I originally bought this set of BFG's because of the cost during Covid cut backs. I have always replaced worn out tires that my other cars had with Michelin, but I am going to buy another set of the BFG's in the next month or so due to cost and...I like the BFG's.

...better than expected dry handling...

Over all great tire. Great wet handling (minimal hydroplane feeling even at 70 MPH it never felt out of control you could just tell you hit a deep puddle) and better than expected dry handling. They do pretty good for what they are in the snow (around 6 inches is the deepest we had). Ice, well, no tire does good on ice in my opinion without chains. They are a little noisier than other tires we've had, but not to the point of annoying or deterring me from buying another set. All said and done, this will probably be the only tire that will be on this car. When these wear out, I will get another set.

...Their comfort level is good...

I used these tires in Ottawa winter. They were terrific for a couple years. I never got stuck with my AWD X1. Now that I am on my third winter, they are slipping. It only has been 25k miles and I am looking to replace them now.
Their comfort level is good. I have been pleased with these tires but would be nice to get additional miles.

...The tires still look brand new so they are wearing very well...

I have these on the front of the Corvette and I needed what is now an odd size for the OEM wheels. These were highly rated for all season use and I've borne that out, driving in all conditions throughout the year with no issues at all. The tires still look brand new so they are wearing very well. Noise is not really an issue since my car is not exactly stock but these are louder than some others I've had. Overall, I'm very happy with these.

I love these tires! ... how long they have lasted (and they still have plenty of tread left for at least another winter, maybe more)...

I love these tires! I bought them because they look great and was surprised how well it did in the snow, how well they did in the rain, how well they grip when cornering, and how long they have lasted (and they still have plenty of tread left for at least another winter, maybe more). I probably wouldn't have bought an ultra high performance tire for the fact I live in the Chicagoland area where snow is inevitable, however, the reviews were so good that I took the chance. I'm glad I did. I even recommended for my dad's Cadillac and a friend's car. Both are glad they took my advice. I will definitely buy another set of these if they are still available when I need them.
