The BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM2 (KM for Key feature: Mud traction and 2 identifying it as BFGoodrich's 2nd generation KM tire) is an Off-Road Maximum Traction tire developed for off-roaders driving full-sized, lifted trucks that participate in rock climbing and/or other challenging off-road driving. The Mud-Terrain T/A KM2 is designed from the mud up to overcome almost any obstacle in its path by combining more traction and mud-clearing ability than its predecessor with a smoother ride and less road noise than normally expected from an aggressive tire.
The Mud-Terrain T/A KM2 molds an off-road tread compound into a Krawler T/A KX-inspired symmetric design that features deep, self-cleaning independent tread blocks and linear transverse flex zones that provide the elasticity needed to allow the tire to conform to off-road obstacles when aired-down and driven at low speeds.
The tire's internal structure includes twin steel belts and BFGoodrich's Krawler TEK sidewalls and casing. Krawler TEK consists of three components that include aggressive sidewall lugs, cut- and chip-resistant sidewall compounds and BFGoodrich's TriGard casing (three-ply polyester construction) with sidewall cords that are up to 33 percent stronger than the previous Mud-Terrain T/A KM tire. These advancements allow for more bite and sidewall protection along with increased strength and resistance to bruising caused by rocks and rough trails. Single strand beads (a single strand of bead wire is continuously wrapped multiple times until the desired strength is provided) enhance the tire's fit to the wheel to improve uniformity and ride quality.
While Off-Road Maximum Traction tires, which are often called mud tires, are branded with the M+S symbol and able to churn through deep snow, their typical oversize applications and the absence of snow-biting sipes in their large smooth lugs can challenge their on-road wintertime traction on packed snow and icy surfaces.

...Also they resist hydroplaning amazingly. I frequently have them over 85mph even in the rain and have yet to hydroplane once even in a couple inches of water...
I have a fairly modified grand cherokee including axle swap from olen diff laredo to elsd converted to locker axles out of a limited hemi. Its lifted 4" and i admin an offroad group. We wheel frequently and hard. Ive chopped them up a bit from tucking them into a body pinch weld and chunked a little from slicing them and on sharp rocks. They hold up to both very well. Even with tread damage they are as quiet as my old dueler rhs of the same size. I have not had the pleasure of snow yet but look forward to it very much. I hear a harsh winter in coming and i live in the cuyahoga vally so im hoping the hills will makes them shine. Also they resist hydroplaning amazingly. I frequently have them over 85mph even in the rain and have yet to hydroplane once even in a couple inches of water. They resist wear pretty well as after 12k im still better than 80% even with rock spinning. They do however have a tendency of sliding a little on coners on concrete but almost all tires do. They squawk so id say theyre still gripping better than most.

...I was most impressed with traction on wet pavement and driving through deeper water. Wasn't expecting for it to stay glued to the road and channeling out water as well as it did...
Put over 55K miles on these KM2's on my PRO4X. Probably have at least another 10K worth of tread. These tires are the real deal. I do have a mid sized truck but even so these tires hold up well and exceeded my expectations. Traction on and off road are outstanding. I was most impressed with traction on wet pavement and driving through deeper water. Wasn't expecting for it to stay glued to the road and channeling out water as well as it did. If your on the fence about purchasing these tires, do it, you will not be disappointed. These tires were amazingly quiet for me for the first 35K but now have now become much louder. But hey its a mud tire, I was expecting that from the beginning.

I put these tires on my Jeep wrangler 03 TJ when I lived in Siloam Springs Arkansas. The first year we had a bad snow storm. I could run my jeep in 2wd on the ice and snow most of the time. Deep snow I would have to go to 4wd. I had a lot of inclines on my commute to work and the tires were phenomenal. I drove the Jeep from Arkansas to Mississippi ( 10 hour drive ) at least once a month. Moved back to Mississippi and drove to Arkansas for trail riding with my friends. Tires wore evenly for the miles. I think I am about to try same tires on my Denali with 6.2 and awd to see if I get the same results on a heavier SUV. The only downfall.I seen of tires were a little noisy , but if you point your vehicle in a direction no matter your terrain you were going to get to your destination. Heavy loose sand you will dig down some so that is a little downfall also. Other than that I will buy again

...Pros: grip is excellent in dry, wet, mud, rocks, and cornering...
I have a lifted 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon. My vehicle is lifted and has about 600 lbs more weight added to it. I run the tires at 33 psi cold. I "X" rotate the tires every oil change and balance every second oil change.
Pros: grip is excellent in dry, wet, mud, rocks, and cornering. I don't have balance issues with the tires and drive them hard on and off road. They also wear very even.
Cons: very soft compound but that is expected for a tire with grip. A little noisy when you first rotate them but the it quiets down a little. In the middle as far as weight for a mud tire.
Summary: A great all around mud tire that you can live with on the street. I drive on the faster side and can hold my steering wheel with finger tips and no vibrations and great on road manors. I drive around 14,000 miles a year and take these tires several time a year to Rausch Creek off road park with no issue. I would definitely recommend this tire to a friend!

I feel like I am in a monster truck with these things on. Dry traction is great, wet traction is great... Snow? Like a hot knife thru butter... I feel confident with this tire. The noise? Loud and I love it. I can be heard a mile away. If you want quiet tires, these aren't for you.

...Treadwear has been beyond outstanding. After 35K miles (mostly highway, it's never trailered) I still have close to 50% tread depth left across all 4 tires (I feel there's at least another 25K there before they hit the wear bars). I've only rotated them maybe 3 times too...
I purchased my set of BF Goodrich KM2 tires in 2013 (35x12.50R15). Overall these tires have been very good, though in some areas I think they are a step down from the previous KM(1) tires I had before, most notably they are downright LOUD!! (the stereo volume doesn't quite work well enough to get over these babies lol), and when brand new they were only 34.5" whereas the KM was 34.9" measured the same way (inflated to 30PSI, not mounted on the vehicle). Treadwear has been beyond outstanding. After 35K miles (mostly highway, it's never trailered) I still have close to 50% tread depth left across all 4 tires (I feel there's at least another 25K there before they hit the wear bars). I've only rotated them maybe 3 times too. Offroad traction has been excellent (among the better tires I've owned). Vehicle stats also include locked F&R differentials and crawl gearing (I spend much of my time on trails in California's Sierra mtns.). The sidewalls have suffered a few cuts & abrasions from rocks (one just barely touched the cords) but no punctures. My hopes are that the upcoming KM3 will be just as good, but with a noise level more akin to the previous KM tire (far from silent, but not so much that my ears bleed, and I can actually hear the stereo a little). Certainly the KM3 is a better-looking tire too.

...It has been 55 thousand miles and there is still enough tread depth for another 5 thousand miles before they become unsafe...
I bought these tires 4 or 5 years ago and a friend told me he thought I would get 20 thousand miles out of them because of their soft compound. It has been 55 thousand miles and there is still enough tread left for another 5 thousand before they become unsafe. I have had zero problems with them and I am getting ready to buy another set. I used 8 oz. of Air Soft pellets inside each tire for balancing. They are a little expensive but they have surpassed my expectations and I do not know what more I could ask for a set of tires. I have had no oppertunity to use them in ice or snow so cannot speak to their ability in those conditions. My vehicle is not a pickup but a 1985 Toyota 4Runner and I am using the 33" 10.50 tires.
