The Blizzak DM-V2 is Bridgestone's Light Truck/SUV Studless Ice & Snow winter tire developed for the drivers of pickup, crossover and sport utility vehicles looking for enhanced grip in slush, snow and on ice. Designed with a focus on ice traction and braking, as well as wet road handling and hydroplaning resistance, the Blizzak DM-V2 offers wintertime driving competence.
Blizzak DM-V2 tires use Bridgestone's adaptive NanoPro Tech Multicell compound that features a water-loving hydrophilic coating and microscopic bite particles. The Multicell compound remains flexible in below-freezing conditions, wicks water off packed snow and ice while the bite particles deliver more grip and improve braking on glare ice. This compound is molded into a directional tread design featuring 15% more aggressive block edges (than the Blizzak DM-V1 it replaces) where wide lateral and circumferential grooves help channel water, slush and snow away from the contact area for added traction while 3D zigzag sipes increase the number of snow biting edges.
The Blizzak DM-V2 radial meets the industry's severe snow service requirements and is branded with the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol.
NOTE: The first 55% of the Blizzak DM-V2's tread depth features the NanoPro Tech Multicell Compound while the remaining 45% features a standard winter tire compound. When the Blizzak DM-V2 is approximately 50 percent worn, a depth indicator molded into the tread design lets the driver know that the remaining tread is reaching the end of its ability to provide beneficial snow traction.
Install Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V2 tires in sets of four only.
Due to the revolutionary traction capabilities of the Blizzak, Bridgestone recommends using them only in sets of four to provide the best handling characteristics and tire performance.

Testing Studless Ice & Snow Winter Tires for Crossovers and SUVs (04:23)
There's a common misperception that an SUV's or CUV's advanced systems can create additional traction. They can't. Their purpose is to help the driver make the most of whatever traction their tires can provide.
And for winter season driving, there is none better than a tire from the Studless Ice & Snow category.
We evaluate the category's newest in the most challenging winter condition. Ice.
Customer ratings showcase the Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V2 as an outstanding winter tire, with exceptional snow and ice traction (scores 9-10) inspiring confidence in harsh conditions. Wet and dry traction also earn strong praise (7-10), delivering reliable grip and stability. Riders appreciate the quiet, comfortable experience (7-10), though a few note minor road noise. Treadwear receives mostly positive feedback (7-10), but some mention quicker-than-expected wear in heavy use. Designed for winter dominance, this tire excels in its core purpose, with high marks across critical cold-weather metrics, making it a trusted choice for drivers prioritizing safety and control in snow, ice, and slush.

...They have great traction on wet roads, snow and icy conditions...
Love these tires. I have been using the BLIZZAK snow tires for years and never have been disappointed. They have great traction on wet roads, snow and icy conditions. They also ride very comfortably on dry roads as well. Would highly recommend these tires for winter driving.

These tires actually save a little bit of money, I can drive around in 2wd much better than the touring tires that these replace, better MPG. I put it in all wheel, and it goes anywhere. The BIG difference is in stopping distance. The ABS worked overtime with the factory touring tires, Blizzaks stop, corner, almost, like it's dry. I've run Blizzaks before, so I know, put them on late and take them off early. If you run them hot, they will disapear. #1 winter tire in my opinion. I downsized to 18" from the factory 20" to get more sidwall for pothole season.

Wet traction is excellent, and I feel very confident in the rain and slush. I have driven in some pretty nasty conditions and these tires have performed flawlessly.
Always a pleasure working with Tire Rack

Tires seem to work pretty well on wet/snowy conditions. Ice is a different story but you cant expect much from a studless. Worth the price and would purchase again if its mainly snow that its being used for. Tire rack made the shipping and delivery streamlined with no issues.

...The tires are unbelievable in the snow, and handle pretty good in the dry too...
They're Blizzaks, nothing more needs to be said! The tires are unbelievable in the snow, and handle pretty good in the dry too. Blizzaks and AWD are the perfect "go anywhere" combination. There is a little bit of tire noise with the blocky tread pattern, but it's not that bad. The superior snow performance out weights the minor drawbacks.

...There is some tire noise, but less than other winter tires I have owned...
I 'm impressed with these tires. The OEM tires on this car are 19" low rolling resistance tires (a low bar for comparison I know). I had the Blizzaks mounted on 17" rims and find that they ride about the same as the OEM tires. There is some tire noise, but less than other winter tires I have owned. There seems to be a small mpg penalty vs the OEM tires, but not a lot.
I commute daily over back roads that are frequently covered with a mixture of ice, snow & slush without any problems. Because the Toyota Venza (a hybrid that is basically a front-wheel drive car with electrically driven rear wheels that may or may not be applying power at any given time) my first purchase after buying the car last November was the winter tire package. Going from 2-wheel to 4-wheel drive & back (which seems to happen often) is so seamless as to be undetectable. I'm glad I bought these because the increased traction they provide has taken a lot of stress out of my daily commute.

Highly recommend Bridgestone Blizzaks. This is my 2nd vehicle I have purchased these for. I use these only during the winter on spare wheels, so the miles are low but mainly highway, and daily over 2 mountains on my commute to and from work. The ride is super comfortable, especially compared to the standard 21” wheels my Explorer comes with. The tires slightly are noisy, but it’s barely noticeable, don’t let that stop you from getting. They have handled the snow perfectly, from a light slick dusting, to a heavier, deeper and wet snow. I feel very confident with them on my vehicle.

Treadwear receives strong ratings, with most customers scoring 9s and 10s for long-lasting winter performance. While some scores between 3-7 note quicker wear, the majority praise its impressive snow traction and reliable tread life in harsh conditions.

An excellent New England winter tire mounted on my winter wheels. However I was also pleasantly surprised at the highway stability and excellent tread wear including a drive and 3 month winter vacation in Florida. Still have reasonable tread left. I would definitely purchase again as a winter tire or the only set if concentrating on winter capability.

...Tread wear seems to be zero. Very surprising. I expect them to last awhile...
I bought these tires in November for Colorado winters on the plains and in mountains. I had Blizzaks a dozen years ago (WS 60’s) and they had good snow traction but the treads tended to sort of fold on corners and were unsteady. After reading reviews on these I decided to come back to Blizzaks for my Tucson. I drove these in dry, deep snow (over a foot), slush, some ice and recently heavy Spring rainstorms. I will say that Blizzak has totally upped their game. Top things that come to mind: 1. Super soft ride, can take potholes but like getting a new suspension. You won’t wreck your rims in a pothole with these. 2. Snow traction is the best I have seen and I’ve driven several different snow tires. I took them and brake tested and acceleration tested them in heavy and light snow and on frozen surfaces in parking lots at a local state park, lol. They were great. 3. Tread wear seems to be zero. Very surprising. I expect them to last awhile. I don’t have measurements, though. 4. They hold up much better on cornering than the old Blizzaks. That’s a key improvement.
I don’t drive my Tucson like my German cars but my opinion is that if I was driving a sports car I’d go to the performance winter tires like Pirelli and Michelin with a little shorter tread. For these normal duty, soccer mom, commuter and even camping-SUV type vehicles I now prefer these Blizzaks. 5. They had great performance in the rain and I would rate them higher than the Michelin X-Ice’s as I had those plane in heavy rain. I will even add that my son in China bought these for his Hyundai and he loves them, too. He had Yokohama’s and prefers these.

No treadwear warranty for a reason. 20k on these tires and 3/32" left down the center of the tires. Pretty much not happy about this. I drive these from Houston to ski near Denver. They have seen snow four trips. So about half of the miles on them are on snow and ice. The other half on Houston roads. I do not heavily accelerate or brake. Glad I had them in Colorado. Kept my RWD truck on the road.
