The Assurance WeatherReady2 is Goodyear's Grand Touring All-Season tire developed for drivers of compact cars, passenger sedans, and crossover SUVs looking for the smooth and quiet ride of a premium touring tire combined with the year-round confidence that comes from driving a vehicle equipped with all-weather tires, having met industry severe snow service requirements and qualifying for the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol.

Assurance WeatherReady2 callouts

Assurance WeatherReady2 tires feature a soybean oil derived compound molded into a directional tread pattern designed to maintain traction in all weather conditions. In addition, taking advantage of small, regular variations in tread block size, the Assurance WeatherReady 2 uses multi-pitch sequencing to dissipate road sounds and comfort inserts in the sidewall to smooth out uneven road surfaces for a comfortable ride. Goodyear's AquaTred technology comes alive in heavy rain, with V-shaped grooves expelling water and slush, enhancing both wet weather handling and wintertime snow traction. The soybean oil compound ensures the tire remains grippy and flexible when the temperature drops.

The Assurance WeatherReady2's internals make use of two layers of polyester plies surrounded by twin steel belts for the right blend of strength, rigidity and straight-line tracking. A polyamide cap completes the package, providing additional stability at highway speeds.

Note: While non-winter tires featuring the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol may provide additional longitudinal snow traction beyond what all-season (M+S) tires not bearing the symbol can deliver, they do not match the capability of a true winter tire in all adverse weather conditions.

Bridgestone Blizzak LM001 RFT Reviews

Feedback patterns show the Bridgestone Blizzak LM001 RFT delivers outstanding winter performance, with snow traction (9-10 scores dominating) and ice grip (7-10 range) earning consistent praise. Wet traction scores 7-10 highlight reliable hydroplaning resistance, while dry handling (7-10) satisfies most drivers despite not being the tire's primary focus. Comfort stands out with 7-10 ratings for smooth ride quality and low noise. Treadwear shows wider variation (0-10), with some customers reporting shorter lifespan than expected - a common tradeoff for aggressive winter compounds. Winter-focused drivers overwhelmingly rate this tire highly for its core strengths in snow and slush, with many calling it a confidence-booster in harsh conditions.

...They work great in heavy rain as well, and handle hydroplaning

This is my 2nd set of these. I live in the mountains and regularly see 12” of new snow on top of compact snow and ice, as well as Cascade Concrete and deep slush. I honestly prefer my wife’s Blizzak VM-2s, And the WS 80s or 90s were exceptional. But my bmw doesn’t have a spare tire, so I decided to go with RFTs for the winter, and these were by far the best option available for my tire size.

I got 3 winters and summer (don’t judge me) out of my last set of LM 100s. They did not like cornering in the heat and it wore the outer tread down quickly. If they weren’t a directional tire, they would’ve lasted longer with the ability to rotate them more easily.

For winter traction, these are great tires! Not studded, so you’re not going to perform as well on ice, but for all sorts of snow conditions, including transitional ice & snow; 100% stellar performance. They work great in heavy rain as well, and handle hydroplaning.

Very happy with these and will most likely purchase again in a few years unless they come up with a better RFT.

This is my second winter with these tires. Last year they braved heavy snow in upstate New York and this year it has snowed a lot in Ohio. I know the factory all seasons would not have been able to cope with the snow that these tires have seen. They simply dig in and go! Good traction on poorly plouhrd roads that gives me confidence to get up to the speed limit and cautiously stay there. On downhill sections the braking was secure and confidence inspiring . I haven’t hit ice ( yet) but I’m not sure any tire could maintain much control if all four wheels hit ice simultaneously.
In short these are great snow and winter tires that have consistently done what I’ve asked for two (bad) winter’s - highly recommended!

...This set has only had limited snow time, but they performed quite well in 1/2 foot of snow. Less sure footed in ice snow mix but far superior to any all-season option...

Tire Rack was amazing to work with and the quality of the product as measured by appearance, and condition of the tire exceeded most tires I have bought in the past except those bought at the BMW dealership (equal). I am very pleased with the purchase speed of delivery, and the product. This is my 3rd set of Blizzak tires and they are wonderful cold weather performance tire. This set has only had limited snow time, but they performed quite well in 1/2 foot of snow. Less sure footed in ice snow mix but far superior to any all-season option. I would buy them again.

...Excellent dry traction for an emergency brake and swerve...

Fantastic tire. Replaced studded snow tires and these are so quiet and comfortable. Excellent snow traction for rural NH and driving in the winter. Haven't been able to test on glare ice, not expecting it to be as good as studs. Have gone through unexpectedly deep water and no hydroplaning. Excellent dry traction for an emergency brake and swerve.

Treadlife is a bit disappointing, I'm at 11k miles and averaging 5/32" tread left. Will probably only get 3 seasons or about 16k miles out of these. Was hoping for at least 4/20k. Will buy again though!
