The Aklimate is Falken's Grand Touring All-Season tire developed for the drivers of coupes, sedans, minivans, crossovers, and SUVs looking for confident performance in any season. Conceived as an all-weather, one-tire solution for environments that experience all four seasons but don't receive enough snow or ice to need a dedicated winter tire; Aklimate tires meet industry severe snow service requirements and are branded with the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol.
The Aklimate features a specially developed all-season compound molded into an asymmetric tread pattern to provide optimal traction in a myriad of conditions. Large shoulder blocks generate sure-footed dry cornering, with lateral notches to evacuate water when the situation calls for dynamic handling. Four wide circumferential grooves provide hydroplaning resistance in conjunction with the generous siping. 3D Canyon Groove Technology provides enhanced grip in slush and snow.
Internal construction of the Aklimate features a single-ply polyester casting supporting two steel belts. A polyamide reinforcement is added for enhanced high-speed stability and performance.
Note: While non-winter tires featuring the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol may provide additional longitudinal snow traction beyond what all-season (M+S) tires not bearing the symbol can deliver, they do not match the capability of a true winter tire in all adverse weather conditions.

...Very good in rain and wet pavement.
Live in the UP of Michigan with this year’s severe winter. These made a major difference as I need to use 4wd far less that before. Very good in hardpack and loose snow. Pretty good on glare ice. Rides very well-quiet and stable. Very good in rain and wet pavement.

I purchased these tires for the winter on my service van. They performed very well in snow and good on ice. Wet traction wasnt a problem either. Dry traction was good too. When the tires are new and the tread is the deepest you may feel some steering issues when cornering at highway speeds but this is a soft compound winter tire and my service van is very heavy. Tread ware is just ok but that was to be expected as these are winter tires and are of a softer compound for colder weather. These tires ride very nice and are quite quiet on highway. This set only lasted for a season and a half but the service van is heavily loaded all the time and that was to be expected. I would definitely recommend this tire for anyone who wants excellent grip and braking abilities in winter conditions. I will be getting another set for this winter season as well. Dont forget these tire must be used in all tire positions for best performance ( install in sets of 4 only).

The Blizzak LT excels in winter conditions, with most customers scoring 9-10 for snow and deep snow traction. Ice performance is strong, though a few note slightly lower ice grip scores.

Used in Alaska and up the Alcan during the winter. These tires are great for hard pack snow conditions and they work pretty well in deep snow, but maybe not the best on ice. However, they’re definitely quieter than studded tires and mud terrains. I really wish they came in larger sizes, it’d be great to see them offered in 34s or 35s. About 1/3 of the miles on these tires are while towing.

...I'd rate them equal in snow and give the DM-V2 better ice traction.
I bought these blizzak LT’s for Montana winters in my suburban. Ive previously purchased DM-V2 blizzaks for this suburban and still have those on another vehicle. The LT’s are noticeably stiffer (expected from 10 ply’s) and the DM-V2 more supple. The LT’s have a deeper tread depth and slightly better tread wear. I’d rate them equal in snow and give the DM-V2 better ice traction.

Most customers rate dry traction highly with scores of 9-10, highlighting reliable grip on dry winter roads. While a few ratings fall in the 7-8 range, the Blizzak LT maintains confident handling even when not in snowy conditions.

Did not disappoint. SIgnificantly more comfortable and quiet than expected...not quite as good as my all seasons but not bad at all. Exceptional traction and control in slush, ice and light snow. Seemed more capable than my prior Blizzak DM V2's in the snow. Great tread depth.

...I've driven only 6k on them, but haven't seen any, that's right ANY, tread wear...
I bought these for my F150. They are the best winter tire I've ever owned. I live in a rainy climate but frequently drive to the mountains to go skiing. These tires easily handle everything I've thrown at them. I've driven only 6k on them, but haven't seen any, that's right ANY, tread wear. If you're on the fence, buy them. You won't be disappointed.
