The DriveGuard Plus is Bridgestone's Grand Touring All-Season tire designed for the drivers of sedans, coupes, CUVs and SUVs looking for enhanced luxury with self-supporting, run-flat capabilities along with increased year-round traction, even in light snow.
DriveGuard Plus features Bridgestone's next-generation run-flat technology ideal for replacement on TPMS-equipped vehicles that may, or may not have come with run-flat tires fitted from the factory. This additional capability offers the peace of mind and flexibility that mobility will be maintained even after experiencing a tire puncture for up to 50 miles at up to 50 mph.
The durable, all-season compound is molded into an asymmetric pattern with stiffer outboard shoulder blocks to promote stable cornering and braking. The inboard section is focused on grip for inclement weather. Zero-degree draft angle, circumferential grooves and open shoulder slots are utilized to help increase hydroplaning resistance. Full-depth features help maintain slippery road traction throughout the tire's life while providing consistent biting edges for traction in wintry conditions.
Construction of the DriveGuard Plus utilizes twin, steel belts with a nylon cap ply over a durable, two-ply polyester casing. Sidewalls feature added reinforcement to help temporarily support the vehicle after a puncture causes a loss of air pressure. Bridgestone's innovative Cooling Fin Design helps dissipate the heat generated during zero-pressure operation, allowing the tire to minimize some of the rigid sidewall construction required in traditional run-flat designs, helping maximize comfort.
NOTE: DriveGuard Plus run-flat tires are only recommended for vehicles that are equipped with a tire pressure monitoring system.

Finally, an all weather rft with a decent ride. Tires feel more stable in wet conditions than previous summer rft. Hopefully, production has met the demand. The wait for the tire was prolonged in 2022. Worth the wait.

...They are great all around tires so if you live anywhere with seasonal snow these are great... Really good in the wet and confident in snow.
These tires have been my choice the last 3 times I needed tires. They are great all around tires so if you live anywhere with seasonal snow these are great. Everyday driving great grip, you won’t have a problem if you like to drive fast but probably not best choice for track. Really good in the wet and confident in snow.

...Dry traction performance is equal to the best tires in its category...
I purchased 4 Bridgestone Drive Guard Plus tires in late March'24 to replace 3 worn-out Continental (run flat) ProContact GX SSRs on my C43 AMG; installed by the dealership, after 500 miles this is my initial assessment. They possess a noticeably more comfortable ride than the OEM Continentals, they were a little too comfortable. The sidewalls flexed a little too much during cornering. I began to worry that this set would not deliver the handling my car was designed for. I added 3 pounds of air pressure to each tire and the handling showed marked improvement. (pressure was increased from 39 to 42 lbs) I have not driven in snow or winter weather yet. Dry traction performance is equal to the best tires in its category. I'm unsure about the durability because the front tires already show a little feathering on the tread's outer edge. I measured the tread depth at 9/32 on all 4 tires. Wet traction and resistance to hydroplaning are also equal to the best tires in its comparative set. Note: tires on high-performance cars rarely reach their mileage guarantee, so I don't expect to keep these for 65,000 miles. I'm giving them 4 out of 5 stars. If you desire a more comfortable ride than a brand-new sports car has, this is the tire for you. If you desire to maintain razor-sharp, firm handling, get something with a stiffer sidewall. I purchased them for the added tread life and slightly better value than the Continentals.

...Performance wise, they're average - the amount of dry grip is similar to the Pirelli Cinturatos (and definitely way behind the Michelins, which is expected since that was a performance run flat)...
My car has always been on run flat tires, and my last two were oem Pirelli Cinturatos and Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ RF. I chose the Bridgestone Driveguard Plus tires this time around because this is a run flat that advertises it rides like a conventional tire.
Because most probably consider the Driveguards for better ride quality in run flats, let me address that first. In terms of ride comfort, the smaller impacts are noticeably softer, such as over small pavement cracks or manhole covers. The medium to larger size impacts are still harsh and don't feel any different from previous run flats I've had. Noise, however is disappointing. There is a constant rumble, like the tire is always driving over rough pavement. It's most noticeable from 30-40 mph, but remains even at highway speeds. It's louder than both the Pirellis and Michelins. I have a feeling it'll only get worse as the tire ages, and is disappointing since Bridgestone advertised these as the quiet, comfortable run flat tire, which isn't all that true.
Performance wise, they're average - the amount of wet and dry grip is similar to the Pirelli Cinturatos (and definitely way behind the Michelins, which is expected since that was a performance run flat). A couple interesting notes here - on wet roads, my steering gets really light and almost feels like the front wheels may lose traction any moment, which is not something I've felt in either of my previous tires. A second issue is that after I installed these tires, there's been a very slight vibration between 50-60 mph - it's gotten better with a couple of more rotations and rebalances, but this never happened with my Michelins. I suspect the tires themselves may be the culprit.
So at the end of the day, I personally don't feel like I gained enough ride comfort to sacrifice some of the other characteristics. It's an "ok" tire - not a horrible tire, but I probably wouldn't purchase again.

Way better in every way than the Good Year Eagle Sport that were on when purchased the car. I would not say ride quality is very much refined like a non run-flat. But, with the run-flat tech and this level of comfort, I can easily recommend to anyone looking for run-flats with comfort. Currently, No other run-flat tire can match comfort, noise, ride quality of the Bridgestone Driveguard Plus. Tire noise is very low. Its like day/night when compared with the good year O.E tires. Well done!!

All though are excellent handling in dry and wet conditions the tread wear has been far less than pro-ported. We missed a tire rotation but in 14000 miles the fronts are down to 5/32 and the rears at 8/32. Even had we rotated them at 7000 miles, these tire will be lucky to get 35000 miles, much less the 'warranted' 65000.
