Highway All-Season tires are for drivers who want a combination of pleasant on-road characteristics, long wear and all-season versatility, including traction in light snow. Highway All-Season tires branded with the M+S symbol are often used as Original Equipment (O.E.) on 2WD and 4WD, light- and medium-duty vans, trucks and pickups, as well as crossover and sport utility vehicles.
O.E. Highway All-Season tires are typically purchased as direct replacements for worn-out pairs/sets of the vehicle's original tires. They can also be used for other vehicle applications in complete sets of four or axle pairs if available in an appropriate size, load range and speed rating to match the existing O.E. tires' performance category and specifications.

User experiences show the Bridgestone Dueler H/L 400 delivers strong dry traction (7-10 range) and a smooth, quiet ride, with many praising its highway-focused comfort. However, treadwear scores vary widely (0-10), with some reporting premature wear despite its all-season classification. Winter traction (0-9) and wet performance (1-10) show significant inconsistencies, with multiple reviews noting reduced confidence in snow and heavy rain. While dry handling shines for routine highway use, the mixed results in wet/snow conditions and uneven treadlife patterns suggest it may fall short of broader all-season expectations in challenging environments. Comfort remains a consistent highlight across reviews.

...Good traction in all wet and dry conditions, but live in florida, so don't know about snow yet...
This tire is firm riding as most commenters mention about the run flats. Not having the noise or excessive tire wear reported by X5 owners, though. These were OEM on my 2010 rav4 sport with sport appearance package. Forty-four thousand miles and still plenty of treadware. Good traction in all wet and dry conditions, but live in florida, so don't know about snow yet. May go north for skiing this winter, will see about traction in snow if so. I had one repaired at local-yokel tire service store when it had a small leak. They plugged it, no problem. Not sure what the nonsense is about some thinking they are nonrepairable. Still not sure I would buy another set though due to high cost and harsh ride.

...The CX-9 is known to be a good handler, for its vehicle class at least, and I can see now how much of that is due to the tires. The Bridgestones are OE on this car. Since installing the Toyos, the sharpness and grip has really gone down...
I recently replaced these tires with a set of Toyo Vesado CUV tires and I am starting to regret it. The CX-9 is known to be a good handler, for its vehicle class at least, and I can see now how much of that is due to the tires. The Bridgestones are OE on this car. Since installing the Toyos, the sharpness and grip has really gone down. My wife drives this car just as much as I do and the first thing she said when leaving the tire shop was that the car handles more like a truck now and less sporty. I chose the Toyos thinking the wife would enjoy a smoother and quieter ride as the Bridgestones are a tad loud. It is not bad or wearing at all, but it is definitely noticeable. The improvement in comfort is not even close to the loss of performance though. I did not realize are good the Bridgestones were until now. At more than 60K miles, the tread was not even to the wear bars yet, but I live In Florida and the rainy season is coming so I decided to go ahead and replace them because I could feel a loss of hydroplaning resistance with the shallow tread. A good amount of cornering grip was lost too even in the dry so that is another knock against the Bridgestones. For such a soft tire, I am amazed at how long they lasted. I corner aggressively enough that the tires squeal too so these things were not babied. The best attribute of these ties are the bite when braking hard. Several times when abruptly braking and emergency swerving, the ABS and stability control never even had to kick in because the tires just stuck. Mind you this was not full on braking though. No street tire is that sticky. Before the tread worn down, I still felt confident enough to cruise at 80 mph on tthe interstate even in the worst rain storms Florida has to offer short of a tropical storm. When it is time to change the tires again, I am going back to the Bridgestones. I can not comment on snow and ice performance, but the grip was still good at near freezing temps too.

...Dry performance is good/great. Quiet and somewhat responsive...
These tires came standard on our FWD CX-9 (Touring) model. We've had no issues with these tires at all with surprisingly little maintenance. I think the only thing I have done to the tires is inflate last winter. No Rotations, No Balancing, nothing. Its only now that I have noticed the front 2 tires need replaced since they have very little tread left on them (front wheel drive). The rears are still functional.
Snow performance is awful. Ice performance, likewise. Try climbing a hill that's got a little snow and forget it, even with all the weight of the CX9.
Dry performance is good/great. Quiet and somewhat responsive.
Wet performance is average as we have had no slippage and live in Dayton, OH where some storms can be severe at times.
All in all these tires aren't bad unless I have not yet realized what another tires quality on the CX9 may bring...Miles per gallon were right on Govt Standards, so tires weren't bad on mileage either.
I will be replacing the front 2 tires soon. I will likely try another set since the ratings these tires get is so low.

...The only positive is that the road noise is low and the ride comfort is good...
live in upstate ny / wny. Need a tire that is good in every situation. This tire is good in no situation. It wore out very fast, doesnt corner well at all and simply scary in the inclement weather. The only positive is that the road noise is low and the ride comfort is good. Please do yourself a favor and do not buy this tire.

Road noise and handling in both dry and wet conditions is very good. Rotated the tires every oil change at 5K miles and checked the pressures monthly. I am very satisfied with the performance that I got from this tire and will definitely consider it again when it is time to replace it.

This tire offers zero traction on wet & snow even when brand new, DANGEROUS!! This tire hydroplanes terribly in wet conditions and it feels like you are on a snowboard in snow!!!...
This tire came as OEM on my 2008 Toyota Highlander Sport AWD in P245/55R19. This is overall the WORST tire I have ever experienced. Bridgestone produced this tire in P245/55R19 for one purpose only, as an OEM tire to offer car buyers a very smooth & quiet test drive. Once the consumer buys the vehicle you are stuck with the tires. This tire offers zero traction on wet & snow even when brand new, DANGEROUS!! This tire hydroplanes terribly in wet conditions and it feels like you are on a snowboard in snow!!! Treadwear is also terrible. And the worst part, when the consumer has to buy replacement tires in P245/55R19 there are very few replacement options available in this new and unusual size, none of which are good choices!! This tire is only usable in southern climates with year around warm & dry weather. If you live where you get rain all year long and snow in the winter DO NOT BUY THIS TIRE!!!!

I've driven 45000 on this set o.e., I just rotated again and 2 tires are at 4/32 and 2 at 5/32. At this tred ware I was hydro-planing at 50MPH on a posted 55 very long turning road. I only regained traction at the white line just before going off road. I'm looking at new set of shoes. The ride was good, just no life or traction at this tred depth.

...It is not hyperbole when other reviewers warn that these tires are *dangerous* in the snow. Traction in an inch or two of snow/slush is appalling. Any more than a few inches, and you'd better have sound reason to risk life, limb and higher insurance premiums by putting your car on the road...
Bridgestone Dueler HL/400 V-rated 21-inch tires were OEM on my 2012 Infiniti FX35 Limited Edition, which I purchased new. Now at 43k miles, they are due for replacement. I should preface this review by mentioning that I rotate my wheels religiously and monitor tire pressure both with a hand-held gauge and the TPMS built into my vehicle. Since purchasing the car (crossover, to be exact) I have driven it for 3 years in all types of weather throughout the NY Metro area. I can say without hesitation that these are the worst tires I've ever owned.
It is not hyperbole when other reviewers warn that these tires are *dangerous* in the snow. Traction in an inch or two of snow/slush is appalling. Any more than a few inches, and you'd better have sound reason to risk life, limb and higher insurance premiums by putting your car on the road. It boggles the mind that auto makers accept such abysmal product quality from parts suppliers. I am alive to write this review only because AWD, traction control and anti-lock brakes have saved me on snowy downhills and highway bends. I like my FX35 and drive it "passionately," but I'm no Speed Racer. Frankly, it's difficult to drive a car with gusto when your tires inspire so little confidence. They squirm a great deal around corners, despite their low profile. At least the rubber compound provides decent feedback in warmer weather. Noise was reasonable until about 30k miles. Dry grip is adequate, but rain is a different ballgame. I've had too many close calls hydroplaning during normal highway driving. Nothing is scarier than hitting a puddle and floating toward the median until your tires regain directional control.
Avoid HL/400's like the plague. In fact, you ought to think twice before getting in any car that rolls on these tires! Heads up to the lawyers trolling user reviews: I suspect you could have a class-action lawsuit on your hands. For the rest of us, there's practically nothing positive that these tires have to offer.

My first winter with this vehicle and lost control on a small amount of snow on the highway. This is an absolutely terrible tire! It punctures very easily (4 flats in the span of less than two years) and wears incredibly fast. The only positive about this tire is that it shows how well the symmetrical AWD design of the Subaru Forester actually works. DON'T PURCHASE THIS TIRE!

My major minus on these tires were the life. I only got 36,400 miles out of them over 2.5 years. The control on wet and dry roads were average, and road noise could be better, but that could be more attributed to the 19" stock wheels. Overall, an average tire. Installed the Bridgestone Ecopia 422 as replacements. Hopefully they last longer.
