The Dueler H/P Sport AS is one of Bridgestone's Crossover/SUV Touring All-Season tires developed for the drivers of luxury and performance crossovers, sport utility vehicles and light-duty pickup trucks looking for all-season capability, even in light snow. Designed to provide performance that is in tune with today's popular light-duty light trucks, the Dueler H/P Sport AS blends traction, handling and braking with ride comfort and wear.

Dueler H/P Sport AS tires feature a high-silica tread compound that improves traction in wet and wintry conditions. This compound is molded into a symmetric design featuring high-stiffness closed shoulders to enhance cornering and handling along with circumferential and high angle lateral grooves that further water evacuation by channeling water away from the footprint area to resist hydroplaning and enhance wet traction. Full-depth tread design features and engineered sipes provide the biting edges to promote all-season performance during the life of the tire.

The tire's internal structure includes twin steel belts reinforced by spirally wrapped nylon to enhance durability while reducing tire weight and rolling resistance.

Customers Say

Consumer experiences reveal the Bridgestone Dueler H/P Sport AS delivers strong comfort with many ratings in the 7-9 range for smooth ride quality and noise reduction. Treadwear receives consistent criticism, with numerous scores of 1-3 indicating premature wear concerns. Winter traction shows mixed results, with some drivers reporting adequate light snow performance (5-6 range) but frequent low scores (0-3) for ice traction. Wet traction earns mostly 6-8 ratings for decent grip, though hydroplaning resistance varies. Dry traction stands out as a strength, with scores clustering in 8-10 for confident handling and responsive steering. While suitable for all-season crossover/SUV use, tread longevity and severe winter conditions may require compromise.

Love this tire. Very sporty and bold tire. I have driven in all road conditions, snowy, high water, and of course dry conditions. These tires have performed very well in all conditions. Goes easily in 8-10" of snow. Well done Bridgestone!!!

...Living in FL, these tires have seen a LOT of rain. I've never lost traction on wet roads with these tires. Handled wet roads well. Hydroplaning was never an issue except, of course, towards the end of their service lives...

I've noticed that there are two different treadwear ratings for this tire. One is a 400 and the other a 500. I'm reviewing the version with the 500 treadwear rating that came with our Pilot from the manufacturer. My style of driving is probably a little bit above average and close to spirited. These tires held up well with my driving style. The Pilot is a very heavy SUV yet feels light on these tires. The Pilot always handled well on dry roads and feels confident in emergency maneuvers. We've driven it up north in the winter time and the tires maintained their traction though we didn't get to drive on snow. Extreme cold weather usually hardens all season tires and make them feel slippery. Living in FL, these tires have seen a LOT of rain. I've never lost traction on wet roads with these tires. Handled wet roads well. Hydroplaning was never an issue except, of course, towards the end of their service lives. These tires are the perfect match for the Pilot. We could have gotten another 10K miles out of them if the dealer rotated them as they should. When the front started significantly wearing more than the rears, the dealer advised me not to rotate them any longer as we were in the middle of the rainy season. They refuse to put tires that are more worn at the rear of the vehicle for safety reasons. I agree with them. Unfortunately, we couldn't get that extra 10k miles from the tires. So when it was time to replace the tires, the obvious choice for me was to get the same ones. Just had to make sure that we were getting the version with the 500 treadwear rating. These will be the last tires we're buying for the Pilot before replacing the vehicle. I highly recommend these tires specially for Pilot owners looking to replace their old ones while keeping the driving dynamics the Honda engineers designed into the vehicle.

Very good in the dry, nice road feel, relatively quiet, good mileage, good treadware. In the snow, they are the worst tires on which I have ever driven in 35 years of driving - if you touch the brakes, even lightly, they immediately lock up and the ABS starts firing. Stopping distances are terrible - it's as if they are completely bald. Traction is not quite so bad - you can go up a shallow hill, but don't try turning! Even with AWF and traction control, the vehicle wants to get sideways in even an inch of snow. If you never see snow, buy them. If we get any more snow this winter, we will not be driving the CRV. Michelins in the fall!

...The dry handling of the tire is good...

These Bridgestone Dueler H/P Sport AS tires came stock on my 2012 CR-V. We purchased the vehicle in May 2012. The dry handling of the tire is good. I don't find the tire to be loud. The wet traction has been decent. I have not had any problems even in heavy rain at highway speeds. The first snow was a different story. We had about 3 inches of snow here on the first snow of the season. I was not confident at all in these tires. Snow traction is horrible. Braking in the snow is just as bad. The tration control and ABS kick in conyinually. I would not expect this from an all-season tire at all. These tires are not great at all if you are looking for all-season performance like they state. If you won't be driving in snow, they are an okay option. That said, there are plenty of other options that would surpass this tire in every aspect for a lot less money. I would not recommend this tire.

...Wet and dry performance is fine, and I've done a lot of wet driving on these tires in the Pacific Northwest...

The tire is a little loud as others have mentioned, but nothing terrible. Maybe if I replaced with a much quieter tire I would suddenly notice a massive difference but they're OK as it stands. Wet and dry performance is fine, and I've done a lot of wet driving on these tires in the Pacific Northwest.

The main issue is snow. The tires, and I'm not over exaggerating here, feel treacherous in the snow. Even driving in light snow at very reasonable speeds (the same as everyone else on the road, and I've done a lot of snow driving to know) was awful. Braking response was bad, and the ABS would kick in quickly when I did a traction check. It's also the only time the car has ever used its vehicle stability/dynamics control thing, multiple times. I was legitimately scared and glad to get off the pass and down in elevation. All this was a week after taking off the snow tires due to it being the end of the legal studded tire season, so it was a spring time snow event east of the mountains here. It was normal snow, not slushy, fairly dry stuff actually considering the location.

My advice: if you have these tires on your car think very carefully about driving in the snow. If you do, go slower than everyone else and do occasional traction checks (braking to the ABS limit, *carefully*, with nobody behind you) so you know how much traction you have (likely very little). If you plan on doing regular driving in the snow please get better all-season or even basic and cheap snow tires as they will save your life. Again, these tires are treacherous on the snow!

...Tires are good wet/dry, modestly comfortable and a bit noisy...

OE on '15 Outback. Suburban / exurban driving. Soccer dad. Tires are good wet/dry, modestly comfortable and a bit noisy. Nothing too. But the treadwear is a awful. 29K and done. On a Subaru Outback.

In my opinion, these tires are either junk tires or they are defective. Too many complaints about premature treadwear and dangerous driving conditions as a result. These tires are not fit to be sold.

Worst tire for snow and ice ever.

35 years of driving experience in Minnesota winters, and I've decided these are the worst tires I've ever had.

Tires came with brand new 2015 CRV -- first two winters proved them to be horrible tires. Seem fine in non snow or ice conditions, tho.

...If there is any snow on the ground these tires lose traction to the level of unsafe. Stopping distance was greater than two car lengths from 25 miles per hour...

Purchased a brand new 2012 Honda CR-V that had these tires on it. This vehicle was purchased in an area that has a lot of snow and temperatures near freezing in the winter time. First impression was that the vehicle and tires on it are great. After having to drive during light snow, 1" on the ground, we found the weakness in this model of tire. If there is any snow on the ground these tires lose traction to the level of unsafe. Stopping distance was greater than two car lengths from 25 miles per hour.

We are surprised that HONDA would equip a vehicle with this type of tire and sell it in a snow belt type area. Currently not happy and trying to work out a solution.

Would not recommend these tires if you intend to drive in any snow, if so, plan well ahead if you are thinking of stopping!

These were original equipment and I am not impressed with them, at around 19,500 miles my service guy told me that my tires were at 5 to 6/32. They were rotated at each 5,000 mile mark. ...After 28,000 mi and shoulders are down to treadwear indicators. Tires were rotated 5 times, inflation pressure was maintained to 39PSI. My kids and/or dog were in the car most of the time so cornering was modest and unlikely to blame for much of the treadwear.

OEM tire on a 2 year old vehicle driven mostly for commuting in rainy Seattle. 28,000 mi to-date and shoulders are down to treadwear indicators. Tires were rotated 5 times, inflation pressure was maintained to 39PSI. My kids and/or dog were in the car most of the time so cornering was modest and unlikely to blame for much of the treadwear. Alignment hasn't been checked but will do so when I change to new tires.

Outside of excessive treadwear, performance through standing water isn't great. This is the heaviest SUV I've owned but the only one which has hydroplaned.
