I agree with most of the reviews, this is an excellent tire in dry and wet, I just drove through an absolute summer downpour here at highway speeds and felt fully confident, and the traction around roundabouts and on-ramps is excellent. Note I have the Eibach pro-kit springs on my grand touring (absolutely necessary if you are still on stock springs...those are way too soft). BUT, I haven't seen mention of the effect of temperature, and these really change when the temperature drops, so I thought I would comment. I know they are summer tires, and this might not matter if you are in a warmer climate, but these things really do lose grip in the cold. In the 40's there is a noticeable loss of wet grip, and in the 30's and below it's like driving on hockey pucks even on dry roads. I have slipped the back out on dry pavement just making a normal left turn from a stoplight in the 20's F. I never drive my MX5 in the snow or salt as I have another car with snow tires for that, but I try not to even drive it when it's dry when below 40 because of the loss of confidence. Planning on getting all seasons next (have really liked Michelin Pilot A/S 3+, great in everything except snow/ice), something that will let me drive safely year-round. Just something to think about if you're somewhere it gets cold and don't need/want a separate set of snow tires.

I use this tire for track days as well as general highway driving. 1st track day in the wet had low time with Cayman R on Hoosier rains next best. Incredible traction at full throttle 2nd gear exiting corners. I run dyno 485hp with this car so was very pleased. Goodyear F1's were garbage in these conditions. Did notice slight delay in quick turn in response. Slowed down the rapid wheel action and was actually better at exiting. Tires do not hydroplane or hunt on Washingtions horrible highways. Highly recommend this tire. Who cares if I wear them out from driving fast. Just get another set.

I recently purchased a '16 Miata Club spec (5 months) and these tires came with it stock. I have 3300 miles on the tires with 2200 miles of highway (road trips), 2 autocross events, and 4 days of track events (HPDE).

Overall i am very pleased with these tires. They provided very good wet grip in heavy rain and communicated its levels of grip well enough to instill confidence. While driving, they provide low levels of road noise for a summer tire, and are not terribly rough over bumps.

At the track and autocross, I was also very pleased with the performance of this tire. I find the tire enabled very direct turn in with little instructional lag or slop. The tires broke traction with a progressive feel and an audible transition from singing to screaming. 2 autocross events and 2 track events were held at 50-75 degrees ambient temperatures and they held up well. 2 track events were held at 100-110 degrees ambient temperature. During the hot events the tires proceeded to wear faster than track focused summer tires, but not at an excessive rate.

Regarding durability, these tires resisted chunking, though they were soft enough to pick up rubber left on track. I am currently just above the tread indicators, though could reasonably have 1 event left on the tires.

I would recommend purchasing them again.

OEM tire. I think they are better than reviewed. Very good wet, great dry. A bit noisy but what do you expect. Feel very confident in the rain and around corners. I push the car pretty hard and I have not had any (unintended) wheel slip. I will not be having these on in sub 50 degree weather. Will swap to Michelin PSAS4’s. But will probably put these back on for the summers.

Came with my launch edition RF GT (with Brembo) and I do appreciate how they connect to the road with no movement on dry pavement and very good stopping in wet.
My only concern is how rough they are over concrete roads.
My previous car was 2007 MX-5 GT (with Bilstein shocks) and still using the original summer tires ... much less bounce.
After the summer, I will update this review on the S001s.

These were the factory tires on my 2016 370Z Nismo which I purchased with 3800 miles on it. I seems like my experience is an outlier, but my first track day on these tires was very disappointing. The morning was cold (40's) warming up in the afternoon to low 60's, but I found myself struggling to get grip most of the day. I previously ran Bridgestone RE-760s and RE-11s on my 2010 370 Z Coupe and got much better performance; especially with the RE-11s. This is also my daily driver and while I don't have enough experience with them in the rain, I have been satisfied with the dry performance. My next set will definitely be RE-11s.

I was relatively happy with these tires coming with the 2016 MX-5 Club, but they leave a lot to be desired, especially considering the price point and tread life. On dry pavement, they handle quite well and are predictable. The ride is quiet and comfortable for how sporty the tires are. I only drove on the road with these tires, and for the most part they were plenty fun for road conditions.

Where they are not very strong is when it's wet. I was on my second summer with plenty of tread driving in moderate rain, about 50mph on a big open highway, and they almost lost traction out of nowhere on a slight curve. There wasn't a ton of standing water or anything, this was where you'd easily see a random minivan going 60mph in worse conditions. Needless to say, I drove very conservatively in any rain after that. They were also very easy to break loose when it was the slightest bit wet. My winter tires, Pirelli Soto Zero 3, were almost better in every regard, outside of steering response and road noise which goes to be expected. I should be looking forward to when I can take off the winter tires and put on the summer tires, not the other way around..

I put maybe 10-15k miles on them and they were getting pretty low. I drive spirited, but I'm not constantly drag racing, braking hard, and carving up windy roads. The majority of time was commuting. They just aren't anything special for the low tread life, high price point, and underwhelming performance. They feel more like a good all season that's only really good at dry/warm weather.

The Bridgestone Potenza S001 AO tires are excellent tires. I can't compare them with another set of tires as the tires were OEM on the vehicle. However, I am very satisfied with the tires after 3300 miles. My vehicle handles well and stops quick. I have driven the Audi TTS on a 1000 mile trip down to New Orleans and back. The tires were great on the highway. They were quiet and comfortable with very little noise. I have also taken the TTS on rides up in the mountains of North Georgia. The tires gave me great great confidence in the mountain twisties. I will probably never push the vehicle beyond the capabilities of the tires.

I have these tires on the front of my AWD car, and I have an amazing 69,029 miles on them (time to replace). I have driven them in almost all conditions imaginable (dry, wet, ice, light snow, big city where I live, highway). I usually drive faster than others (0-60 in 4.0 seconds is addictive). I have noticed I get great gas mileage with these tires on the highway. They corner and handle well. I did have a blowout on the highway once (severe pothole), and I drove them at slow speed with a golf ball-size hole in the sidewall for 20 miles to a tire shop (they are run-flats). I don't have anything negative to say about these tires.

I have not auto crossed yet. No clutch dumps. I normally don't keep heavy stuff in the trunk. I drive this car like a go-cart. Drove it across country from CA to NY and back in the winter time. rotated the tires once. all 4 tires are worn down to the wear bar. I will most likely change these out after 30000 miles. I have had this car for 10 months and put 27000 miles on the car and tires. The main reason why I want to buy these tires again is because they lasted a good amount of miles and they are made in Japan. no defects. no sidewall bubbles.

This is probably the 6th time I have purchased this tire. In the years prior I have had it on my VW GTI, BMW 435I, on my Golf R, on my VW Rabbit, and on a couple others. It was a no brainer to get them for my newly appointed work vehicle, a Ford CMax. The tires are truly an excellent work of engineering and materials. They are long lasting, they do exactly what they are meant to do and can honestly get you through the worst of storms (assuming you know how to drive properly in Winter). I put about 3,500 - 4,000 Miles per month on my work vehicle and the tires the car came with were basically garbage - I knew there was no way of surviving the winter season without a set of the Potenzas. They do such a wonderful job of gripping the road while also maintaining a sense of communication / feedback through the steering wheel so the driver knows where their wheels are at any given moment. For the price and lifespan they offer - they are hands-down one of the best on the market that aren't eyewateringly expensive for a set of winter tires.

If you are debating on getting these, let me make it simple for you, Do It. Maximum safety, control, and longevity. They can easily be run for 2-3 years if swapped during the appropriate times - I LOVE them. Honestly excited for winter so I can put them back on my vehicle. One downside, if its a downside, your gas mileage will suffer by about 3-6 MPG.
