The ContiSportContact 3 is Continental Tire's Max Performance Summer tire developed for the drivers of powerful sports cars, sports coupes and luxury sedans. The ContiSportContact 3 is designed to combine outstanding braking capability and agile steering precision. Like all summer tires, the Continental ContiSportContact 3 is not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.

ContiSportContact 3 tires feature an asymmetric design with solid tread blocks and a continuous rib on the outboard shoulder to improve responsiveness and cornering stability, while continuous intermediate ribs provide constant rubber-to-road contact to reduce noise and control the longitudinal forces experienced when braking. The continuous circumferential tread grooves help disperse water to resist hydroplaning and their asymmetrically angled walls further stabilize the tread ribs, increasing steering precision and reducing deformation while cornering. The notched shoulder blocks on the inboard portion enhance wet weather traction.

The tire's structure includes twin steel belts reinforced by nylon to stabilize the tread area and enhance handling as well as high-speed capability.

Continental ContiSportContact 3 Reviews

Drivers consistently rate the Continental ContiSportContact 3 as excellent in dry traction, with many scores hitting 9-10 for grip, cornering stability, and steering responsiveness. Wet traction earns solid 7-9 ratings, showing confident handling in rain despite occasional hydroplaning concerns. Comfort receives praise for a smooth, quiet ride, with noise levels often rated 7-10. However, treadwear scores vary widely-while some report 8-10 durability, many note premature wear (scores as low as 1-5), highlighting a shorter lifespan than expected for a max-performance summer tire. Ideal for drivers prioritizing dry/wet performance and comfort, but tread longevity may disappoint those seeking extended use.

...75 through standing water on the florida highway, no slip !! The rooster tails are insane though !!...

i was worried, going from a stiff goodyear run flat tire to these. after about 200 miles those worries were gone !.....the sidewall deflection was "different". they held at almost any speed in the corners. the body roll seemed to be more, but the trade off for a comfortable ride, and proven wet weather traction (i have these on an older camaro ss) made the tires AWESOME !!!
they wear fast, but hey your buying a super sticky tire !! if you want a 20K item look elsewhere (or you aint driving your car). if you want race proven tech, and the knowledge they use in these ...buy them !!

love these, will buy them again !!

...The water evacuation was relatively poor in my opinion, in comparaison to my previous set of Vredestein (but I can not compare since it was on an other Audi)... very good traction on dry and wet pavement.

(Sorry for my english, i am from Québec so french is my first language)
I get these tyres with the purchase of my Audi Avant 2012. After less than 15 000 miles, they ran out of tread and they are noisy since 10 000 miles or so. I am truly disappointed about their longevity however, they do their job well: good cornering, very good traction on dry and wet pavement. The water evacuation was relatively poor in my opinion, in comparaison to my previous set of Vredestein (but I can not compare since it was on an other Audi). I need to get a new set but I will definetly go with Michelin Pilot super sport, no chance at all I ever go back with Conti tyres.

Brief: great dry traction, average wet traction and very poor tread wear.

Fantastic tire. I've run the evolution of the SportContact series for years now and the SC3 is clearly the result of quality R&D. Dry handling is predictable all the way through the limit. Hydroplaning resistance is excellent even at speeds upwards of 75mph (on the autobahn). Wet traction is also very predictable. The tires wore evenly, with regards to each axle (naturally the rears didn't last as long). At this price point, they are certainly a better buy for performance that equals or exceeds Pirelli and Michelin. The relatively stiff sidewalls make for crisp steering response without compromising ride quality. Noise is negligible. These tires inspire confidence all the way up to the car's electronically limited 150mph. Even deep into triple digit speeds, handling remained precise and grip was excellent.

...And shine they did. The wear, grip, and cornering performance all as advertised on a high speed track reaching up to 140 mph...

For everyday use, they are ok, but a bit harsh when compared to say Pilot Super Sports. HOWEVER, I tried them recently at the track as I heard that's actually where they shine. And shine they did. The wear, grip, and cornering performance all as advertised on a high speed track reaching up to 140 mph. I was most surprised that the shoulders of the tire did not melt as quickly as the Pilot Super Sports I had and wear overall after the two day event was pretty minimal. In fact, I was only 1 second off the best times I did when using supposed track tires such as the Hankook RS-3s. I would most likely consider just taking these tires to the track again. The only thing that didn't stand up to the test was threshold braking from high speeds, the tires were overpowered by the racing brake pads I had on the car, this is normal I suppose, but that's the main negative I would have to give them. Other than that, a perfectly fine tire to use on the track, especially if you're just starting out.

...Otherwise, the dry performance seemed quite good. I wouldn't say that I pushed them in the corners, but the occasional launch was without slip.

So, I admittedly like to drive to have fun in my S3. But with only 15k miles on this car, I wouldn't expect the tires to be almost done. Of all of the tires I've ever owned, this set has worn out the quickest. To boot, they have no warranty so I can't even get a prorated amount toward a new set. Makes the decision easy to find a new set of shoes from another brand for my ride. I'm also pretty disappointed with the road noise of these tires. Surprised that Audi would put them on from the factory. Otherwise, the dry performance seemed quite good. I wouldn't say that I pushed them in the corners, but the occasional launch was without slip.

They stick like glue on dry roads. No experience in wet conditions. Have only 1000 miles on them so far as second car . I am sure they will wear out very quickly.

...I would buy them again if they did not completely wear down to the brim at 12k miles, they are really expensive so I chose the Goodyear Eagle Sport all seasons as my next set...

These came on the car when I bought it a year ago from the dealer. I like the look of them. Right after I bought the car I was amazed with the grip because in dry conditions they stick, and I mean STICK to the asphalt good weather your taking turns, breaking/accelerating hard, or cruising on straight. Wet traction is less than average but oh well I was able to adjust my driving habits in order not to loose control. I would buy them again if they did not completely wear down to the brim at 12k miles, they are really expensive so I chose the Goodyear Eagle Sport all seasons as my next set, after these will probably go to the pilot super sports but if you don't mind replacing tires every year go right ahead and buy the continentals because for the traction you get they are good, just wish they would last longer.
