These Continental CROSSCONTACT LX20 tires are among the best I've ever had the pleasure of driving on. They are smooth, quiet, precise, and handle exceptionally well in the Florida rain, even at full highway speed. I never felt like I was going to hydroplane, but I also didn't hit puddles on the highway at 70+mph. Driving normally on I-95 around 75-80 mph, with moderate rain, these tires make you feel safe and secure. I worry more about what everyone else around me is driving on. Make sure you have your vehicle aligned properly. My alignment had been off slightly, but didn't think much of it, because tire wear was good. Once I had it realigned, these tires make my X5 feel like its gliding down the road. I had a set of Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Season Plus XL and those tires are the worst I've ever owned. I'm not sure how they are so highly rated on Tirerack. I had 2 flats with them and never in my life have I had a flat, let alone 2 tires from a set get cut and I drive 25,000+/yr. I switched to these once the Pirelli started to get noisy around 50k. I was not a fan of Continental tires, but this CROSSCONTACT LX20 model has me sold. I've had them on since 11/17 and have around 6-7k miles on them. I'll update again in 11/18 to see how they're holding up.

I am very impressed with the traction on dry and wet roads.
I replaced the General Grabber HTS I've had on had on my Escape since July 2009 and 75,000 miles with the Centennial Cross Contact LX20 with EcoPlus Technology and am 100 percent satisfied.
It's as if I went from an SUV to a luxury car. The ride is smooth and quite. I am very impressed with the traction on dry and wet roads.
I will most definitely buy these tires next time around.

...If you've ever been in a Florida during a rainstorm (especially in the summer), you know that we can get a ton of rain in a short period of time! This creates a lot of flooding and ponding on our roads. Well, our KJ cuts right through the standing water almost as though it wasn't even there...
To start off I'll describe the kind of drivers my wife and I are and then I'll touch on why I think these are great tires based on our needs. Our Liberty is my wife's daily driver and she has a 50 mile highway commute to work (round trip) five days a week. I often drive her "Libby" on the weekends and we occasionally do some light "off roading". We reside in Tampa, FL so I can't say anything in regards to snow or ice traction but I believe I can talk about wet traction/performance with some authority. My goal in buying these tires was to get a tire that performed well on the highway and excelled over other tires in the rain which is the worst of our road hazards here in West Central Florida.
Well, after 6,000 miles, I'm pleased to report that these tires are as advertised when it comes to low road noise and wet road performance. If you've ever been in a Florida during a rainstorm (especially in the summer), you know that we can get a ton of rain in a short period of time! This creates a lot of flooding and ponding on our roads. Well, our "KJ" cuts right through the standing water almost as though it wasn't even there. I say almost because at highway speeds, I will hit a puddle, and I can feel the vehicle try to slow down a little but I always feel in control (never feel any left or right movement or tire spin). Full disclosure: our Liberty has 197,000 miles on the original factory suspension and so that may come in to play as to why I feel a little "give" when I hit a patch of water. Braking with these tires in wet conditions is excellent - ABS hardly ever needs to kick in except in an extreme emergency stop. From a complete stop, I'll get into the gas just to test traction and have yet to break the rear tires loose. I'm sure I could if I really tried - if "floored it" - but my point is the traction is excellent and I feel confident when I need/want to accelerate quickly out of a complete stop.
So far so good with these Continentals!

Perhaps the best set of tires I've had on an SUV. Yesterday was this first I've had them out in any type of snow or slippery conditions and I must say I am impressed. They seemed very good in the snow and slush and refrozen ice on the roads. I was able to engage the antilock brakes but only because I was actually trying; under normal driving I doubt the ABS would have been used -at least in the snow. In a short period of time I became confident that these tires would provide the traction I was looking for. I've had Michelin's M/T and this Durango came with Goodyears. The Goodyears were OK and the Michelins were very good, however these Continentals are almost as good in the snow as the Michelins and superior to the Goodyears (in all fairness the Goodyears had 20K miles on them when I bought the Durango and the Michelins were used on a different vehicle). In some ways, these Continentals are better than the Michelins; they are quieter on the road and because the sidewalls on the Continentals are a bit softer, they do not require near the steering input the Michelins require and are therefor easier to drive on longer trips. The softer sidewalls do not distract at all from stability though. I pull a 5500lbs camper and these Continentals are stable and predictable -no complaints. All in all, for an SUV that is used for towing, and for city and highway in moderate snow, slush, and some ice; I'd say these are as good as, if not better than anything I've driven on, and they are less expensive than some other brands too. So far I'd say I would definitely buy them again but I'll let you know if that changes in the next 50K miles.

Early review of this tire. The ride quality is excellent, and the noise level is significantly reduced from the previous set of tires (Nitto). I've driven through torrential downpours already (this being Spring), and the tires have good grip on the wet surfaces. On dry pavement, the traction is excellent as well, and the SUV feels more stable. Cornering is above average, but my SUV wasn't made to corner so I'd consider that a bonus. I'll post a later review likely in the winter, after the tires have seen snow.

These tires have been great for our "mom" vehicle use. I'm in the midwest where we get anything from 100* humid days to -10* icey days, and these tires have served me well for 3 seasons thus far. With 40K miles on them, they've gone from 12/32nds to 7/32nds tread depth.
They're not snow tires, but do well enough in snow. Never had an issue with a FWD vehicle in 6"+ of snow. Rain isn't an issue, and they perform like all other non-studded tires on ice. Tire noise has gone up a bit in the 40K miles we've driven on them, but it's not excessive. My only complaint on them would be the "feel" and steering resonse - they do have a "floating" feel to them. Not an issue with a mom-vehicle and mom-style driving, but they won't suit you well if you plan to corner hard.
Overall these tires have exceeded my expectations - I'm an engineer and worked in the tire industry for 10+ years while younger in school. I keep my tires inflated to what they should be per tire manufacture calculations based on vehicle weight, and I keep them rotated and balanced (every 10K or so as needed). My vehicles get regular alignment checks as well - all stated to show that I'm overly anal. At this point, the only other tires I'd consider for this style vehicle the next go-around would be Goodyear triple treads. The only downside to those is they're directional, so you're limited on rotation pattern.
