The Dueler H/L Alenza with UNI-T and/or UNI-T AQII technology is Bridgestone's Crossover/SUV Touring All-Season light truck tire developed for the drivers of premium crossover and sport utility vehicles, as well as light duty pickup trucks. The Dueler H/L Alenza is designed to provide elegance with an edge, as well as year-round traction, even in light snow.
While all Dueler H/L Alenza sizes feature Bridgestone's UNI-T technology to take tire behavior to a higher level by increasing comfort and control, in order to further enhance wet traction over the life of the tire select sizes also have Bridgestone's UNI-T AQII technology which features dual layer tread compounds to resist the normal tread rubber hardening that results from the heat encountered during thousands of miles of use. As the tire wears, the special underlying high-grip rubber is exposed, helping offset the effects of heat and wear on wet traction. The result is that UNI-T AQ II technology helps handle wet road conditions even as the tire wears over the years.
The symmetric tread pattern of the Dueler H/L Alenza has been ride and noise tuned to enhance comfort. Large shoulder blocks and a continuous center rib boost responsiveness and highway stability, while wide circumferential grooves, lateral notches and sipes help increase stormy weather traction. The tire's internal structure includes twin steel belts (reinforced with spirally wound nylon for H-, V- and W-speed rated sizes) to provide support under the tread area, while polyester cords stabilize the sidewalls and enhance ride quality.
Note: While Crossover/SUV Touring All-Season light truck tires offer all-season versatility including traction in light snow, tire sizes featuring extremely wide tread widths may limit the traction this type of tire can provide in deep snow.
*Specific sizes featuring UNI-T or UNI-T AQII technology are identified as such on the Sizes tab, as well as on the tire's Specs tab.

Sooner or Later You'll Own Generals - Maybe Now is the Time(04:02)
If you ask people about General tires, many will remember the decades-old slogan "sooner or later you'll own Generals." General recently introduced the Grabber HTS as the newest member of the Grabber family of SUV and pick-up/light truck tires, focusing on all-season traction and ride quality for drivers who never need to venture off paved roads and highways. To gain a better understanding of how well the new General Grabber HTS fits with today's SUVs, we did some comparing. Maybe now is the time.

...Very good dry and wet road handling (I live in a very rainy area)...
Great tires. Very good dry and wet road handling (I live in a very rainy area). I have not used them in really any snow, as I live near in south-central Virginia, but my siblings up north in PA and New England also bought these tires and they say they perform excellently in snow. Treadwear meets expectations, and actually wears a bit better than I expected for such grippy tires. They also look great.

...Wet traction is PHENOMENAL. I find myself not making any adjustments to high speed wet driving...
Actually I think these are the best tires I've ever owned. The XL distinction for these tires makes for a stronger sidewall, which is much for hitting ruts, potholes and such. My car has a lowered suspension (H&R Greens on stock struts) which needs extra help in the NY area. Wet traction is PHENOMENAL. I find myself not making any adjustments to high speed wet driving. Dry traction is on rails. These tires do everything I want them to with no complaints. I also had my wheels/tires balanced via Road Force balancing and I highly recommend it. I've never had such smooth driving without any vibrations, especially above 80mph. I hope Continental continues to make quality products in the future.

I needed great traction especially for wet conditions living in Florida... These tires are like glue on the road...
I love these Extreme Contacts. I've only owned one other set of Continentals some 30 years ago and chose these for my Mustang as I needed great traction especially for wet conditions living in Florida. I have had several sports style cars over the years and these tires outperform Goodyear's , Michelin's, Firestone's , Goodrich and Hankook, all of which I've had in the past. I like the term spirited driver that you use nice way of saying like to go fast and push some turns to the limit. A couple days ago I pushed these tires to what I thought would be the limit around a certain turn and I could not even get a squeal out of these tires. My Hankook's these replaced, could never even come close to taking that turn that "spirited".These tires are like glue on the road. These tires not only have great traction, they have very low road noise land a great smooth ride. I love them and highly recommend! Worth every penny.

I'll leave it to the professionals to rate the traction/etc - which they did highly and why I bought this tire. It performs well in all the environments I've driven it, and that includes snow and ice here up north. Road noise is not noticeable in our BMW X5, and it handles bumps a lot better than our previous tires. Highly recommend!

This is an updated review;
These tires are great, especially with the rebate kicking you about $110 back. I got to try them on my 22 WRX for the first time in some snow (5 inches, powdery) and they were great. I fooled around in a parking lot, and it was difficult to get my car to be silly; I really had to do something stupid for it to swing out completely. As soon as the tires found a bit of plowed asphalt, it was like a death-grip, and the car snapped back to proper position instead of being sideways. I am very impressed with these tires and would buy them again.
Compared to the summer performance tires that came with the WRX, they lose about 10% feel and grip around corners, but they are excellent in all the hairy conditions that the summer tires didn't like. Since this car is my daily, it is a tradeoff I am willing to make. The car still communicates nicely, and these tires are a lot quieter and more comfortable than the summer tires. I got used to them very quickly, and am enjoying them a lot. I also got to test them on ice after a refreeze of a snow melt; they are quite good on the ice. I would now take the WRX to work on basically any day, even if the roads were extremely hairy. As long as you drive carefully and brake early and gently, you will be fine, especially with an AWD car.
This tire is a compromise tire if you don't want to get two pairs of wheels, but it really pulls it off if you don't have to deal with consistent 2-foot snow in the backroads.

Customers overwhelmingly rate the ExtremeContact DWS 06 Plus' dry traction as excellent, with most scoring 9s and 10s. High marks highlight responsive handling and confident grip in dry conditions, aligning perfectly with its ultra-high performance all-season design. A few scores in the 7-8 range suggest minor variability, but overall satisfaction is exceptional.

These tires are a massive improvement over the stock Goodyear Eagle F1 that came with the car. I can no longer spin the tires at will either wet or dry. They have excellent cornering behavior. My only criticism is that on a Mini Cooper they exhibit very low self aligning torque. At low slip angles they provide no self centering. Even with heavy side loading the self aligning torque is very low. Since a major clue of approaching the limit of adhesion is a reduction of self aligning torque sensed thur the steering wheel this can make cornering at the limit more difficult.

...At first drive out of the tire shop, I had a really bad feeling as the car was too powerful for these tires and they kept spinning at every acceleration from stop. But once they were broken in, they are on par with summer tires with respect to traction and cornering...
Switched from Summer tires to these as I wanted a year around tire. At first drive out of the tire shop, I had a really bad feeling as the car was too powerful for these tires and they kept spinning at every acceleration from stop. But once they were broken in, they are certainly on par with summer tires with respect to traction and cornering. Car will hold the line at decent speeds in both wet and dry weather. I have not driven these yet on the snow/ice.
I should mention that the Steering feel is completely gone compared to PS4S and OEM Dunlop's I had on my car before. Granted my car has electric power steering but previous tires all gave some good feedback and loaded feeling. All-season tires are not meant to replicate that and I don't blame these tires. I will switch back to Conti ECS-2 after I wear these out though.
NVH is good. Absorbs expansion joints and impacts well. There is some tire noise but it is to be expected.

...Dry roads these tires are smooth and responsive...
I was in debating between these and the Michelin Pilot Sport tires. With these being a little more cost effective, I went with them and save a few bucks. Very happy with these tires so far. No issues with slipping in the rain or anything which was my main concern. My car is lowered an the tires are almost tucking in the wheel wells and still no issues with these tires at all. Dry roads these tires are smooth and responsive. I will definitely get another set moving forward.

...Quiet when you're highway cruising, responsive with excellent grip and feedback in the dry and wet. Quite predictable wet or dry. No 'wiggle' out of the tread/sidewall yet there are no harsh jolts over rough patches...
Beyond happy with these tires. Even ignoring the price for a moment, I would still be happy if the cost was twice as much. The worst part of driving my car has been ride quality. Being a heavier GT type vehicle that is supposed to deliver a premium ride.....the tires(Goodyear runflats) held it back. Way too harsh & too noisy, which is a failure on BMW's part. No idea what they were thinking when they chose the OEM tires for this chassis (F13 6 series).
With a few clicks my driving enjoyment was rescued (and for a quite reasonable price). These Extreme Contacts have been excellent in all conditions (haven't had snow driving with them yet). Quiet when you're highway cruising, responsive with excellent grip and feedback in the dry and wet. Quite predictable wet or dry. No "wiggle" out of the tread/sidewall yet there are no harsh jolts over rough patches.
I love to drive and these tires saved my marriage (car marriage....there is no hope for the other marriage), by removing everything I disliked about how the car felt and replaced the bad with great. Smooth, responsive, great feel, quiet, predictable, reasonable price. I'll stick with these tires on every car I own for as long as this model is available.

...In tandem with 20" wheels they improved already great handling with only the slightest penalty in slap noise (35 series)and treadwear is amazing. The alpha platform awd cars notoriously eat tires but these have been great...
I put these on 3 cars since initially choosing them for an audi a8 Quattro when Michelin PS became too costly.
The Audi was a winter-only car and was phenomenal with these tires. I then bought a set for an awd cadillac and used them as summer tires. In tandem with 20" wheels they improved already great handling with only the slightest penalty in slap noise (35 series)and treadwear is amazing. The alpha platform awd cars notoriously eat tires but these have been great. Now, I've put another set on another cadillac, this time as winters because the car (v-series) came on a set of "all season" that really are decent summers with crappy winter behavior. Again, the car is shockingly capable in snow/ice on these UHP contis. I can't wait for spring to probe the limits in good weather.
I find it ironic that an UHP tire has shown itself to be so superior to all-seasons in winter and yet can run with some very good summers in better weather , all while delivering low noise and exceptional treadwear. As far as I'm concerned, we can put the DWS06+ on any sedan for any season and forget all other brands/options. These tires are THE ONE, the unicorn, the end of all comparisons and the answer to pretty much any need. Luxury to sport, sunshine to snow drifts, this is the perfect tire. Please, continental, don't screw these up! OEM's- pay attention! These need to be available original equipment.
