The ExtremeContact Force is Continental's Extreme Performance Summer tire developed for sports cars, performance sedans and enthusiast drivers who participate in high-performance driving events, track days and endurance-style competition. The ExtremeContact Force is engineered to deliver maximum levels of grip and extremely consistent performance on-track, while still providing appropriate on-road performance and the expected durability for use on public streets. Like all Extreme Performance Summer tires, the ExtremeContact Force is not intended to be serviced, stored nor driven in near-and-below-freezing temperature, through snow or on ice.

Utilizing the immense competition and racing heritage at Continental's disposal, their engineering and design teams developed the ExtremeContact Force's endurance-focused tread compound to deliver consistent and predictable handling and grip levels from the first lap until the last. The solid center rib ensures quick steering response and consistent longitudinal traction. Wide, low void, outboard shoulders maximize tread-to-surface contact for extreme lateral grip and mid-corner steering precision. Tread depth pins molded into the shoulder elements are included to help drivers monitor performance, wear quality and project remaining tread life in competition and high performance driving environments. Twin, inboard circumferential grooves help mitigate hydroplaning, while high-angle lateral notches help evacuate water from the outboard shoulder elements.

The internal construction of the ExtremeContact Force consists of a robust, two-ply polyester casing for precise handling. Twin steel belts provide durability and high-speed capability along with a single polyamide cap ply for increased footprint control during high-performance driving and maneuvers.

Note: Tires exposed to temperatures of 20 degrees F (-7 degrees C) or lower must be permitted to gradually return to temperatures of at least 40 degrees F (5 degrees C) for at least 24 hours before they are flexed in any manner, such as by adjusting inflation pressures, mounting them on wheels, or using them to support, roll or drive a vehicle.

Flexing of the specialized rubber compounds used in Extreme Performance Summer tires during cold-weather use can result in irreversible compound cracking. While compound cracking is not a warrantable condition because it occurs as the result of improper use or storage, tires exhibiting compound cracking must be replaced.

Customers Say

Customers say the Continental ExtremeContact Force delivers excellent dry traction with consistent grip and predictable handling, making it a top choice for track days, HPDE events, and aggressive driving. Wet performance receives mixed feedback, praised for rain capability by some but criticized for reduced confidence in heavy downpours by others. Treadwear stands out as a highlight, with users reporting impressive durability through multiple heat cycles and extended track use, often lasting 10+ events with proper setup. While some note sensitivity to alignment and warm-up requirements, the tire's balance of performance and endurance appeals to enthusiasts prioritizing longevity.

...These tires are decent in rain and have really good wet traction as well. The tires for my car are pretty wide so hydroplaning is easy but they hold up very well in a heavy downpour.

Pretty decent tire for everyday driving with good dry traction. These tires are decent in rain and have really good wet traction as well. The tires for my car are pretty wide so hydroplaning is easy but they hold up very well in a heavy downpour.

...They grip well with air temps in the mid-40F range, are confident on a wet track, provide audible feedback when nearing traction limits and work fairly well on the street if a little loud at highway speeds...

Bought these tires in early 2022 for HPDE as I was wanted something that would last a full season of learning. Compared to Michelin PS4S the ECF turns the grip on quick, are extremely heat-tolerant and consistent over 30min sessions (even with 90F air temps), and have a predictable rear breakaway. They grip well with air temps in the mid-40F range, are confident on a wet track, provide audible feedback when nearing traction limits and work fairly well on the street if a little loud at highway speeds. On a 3900lb sedan I start at 30PSI cold and target 35PSI hot for the second session on and never experienced rollover at those pressures like I did with PS4S (trashed a front left due to that). -2.0 front camber worked well on my heavy car, but I think a bit more would have been most ideal. Mine have 7 track days with at least 30 sessions on them along with a thousand or so road miles and there is plenty of life remaining, though I did flip them on the wheels after their third day to even out wear.

Customers praise the Continental ExtremeContact Force's dry traction, with many scoring 9s and 10s for exceptional grip, predictable cornering, and consistent lap times during track days and HPDE events. Several note quick warm-up and stability in heavy cars, though some report grip drop-off when overheated. Mixed feedback for autocross (scores 6-7) cites less outright grip versus competitors, while track-focused users highlight endurance durability.

Really impressed with dry tire grip. I don't expect long wear life but the performance they offer is worth it. I feel the soft rubber compound is an advantage in wet or cold climate even though there isn't much tread, almost a slick...

I highly recommend this tire however note, I have performed major suspension modifications on this mx5 to get rid of excessive roll.

The Continental Extreme Contact Force is the best summer performance tire I have ever had. Grips really well on dry road surfaces and through corners and also does not hydroplane through water from my experience with them

Great track tires, tread wear is excellent, 10 track days so far and still have a lot of tread left. They get a little greasy in warm conditions, but stick really well in the first couple sessions or cool-warm days. Highly recommend

We have run our tires for 5+ hours in racing conditions, and 4 days of testing, and every time we hit the track the tire feels exactly the same as it did when it was brand new. Despite being on its 5th+ heat cycle, we are able to continue to improve our lap times while developing our car despite the tire getting older... This is the perfect tire for anyone who wants a competitive track day tire that doesn't require insane cool-down laps to remain fun, while also lasting an entire season of racing and daily driving...

We use these tires for endurance racing and they have been fantastic. They lack the grip of an RE71Rs, A052, or some of the other super 200tw tires, but they fall off FAR less, and last forever.

The best way to describe these tires, they are an RS4 that is faster, that does NOT heat cycle out.

This is the perfect tire for anyone who wants a competitive track day tire that doesn't require insane cool-down laps to remain fun, while also lasting an entire season of racing and daily driving.

This tire is not the "Best" tire out there, but it genuinely serves a purpose of being fast enough, while being insanely durable, and not falling apart after 1-2 heat cycles (like the RS4). Our frustration with that tire was that we had to throw away tires after 1 weekend because their pace dropped off by 1-2s+/lap and felt horrible. The Conti ECF has been consistently improving in lap times heat cycle after heat cycle despite their age and wear.

We started at a 1:34.1 at Atlanta Motorsports Park. We've made some updates to the car and ran a 1:32.5 on the 4th heat cycle. Adjusted our splitter angle and dropped our lap time down to a 1:31.8. So despite their age, we are finding more and more lap time every time we take the car out on track. Some of that is development of the car, but the tires are still hanging in there giving us the same feel each time we go out. (Similar weather conditions for each session).
