Continental SportContact 6 

This was my third of fourth time buying these tires for this vehicle. My initial question was why do they cost $1100 less than the Michelins. After, a few onths in various weather conditions, I concluded the only difference was the Continentals are better in the rain.

These tires are the best I have had on any of my vehicles ever. I tried Michelin tires on my Audi RS5 and they wore fine; however, on center steering was poor and were very noisy compared to these specific Continental tires. These tires have amazing straight and cornering dry grip and exceptional wet traction. They are the quietest tires because of the tread design and the sound-deadening foam strip on the inside of the tire. I have even raced on a 3.1 racetrack with these ultra performance street tires and they were perfect! So, they are perfect for daily driving and spirited driving.

Best tires on the market. Grippy, handle really well in heavy rain, great on center feel, great cornering feeling, and ultra quiet. Better than any version of Michelin tires I’ve tried.

Excellent grip and handling in dry conditions, much less so in the wet. Has so far handled what my Saleen modified Mustang has thrown at them.

Fantastic tire. Really confident on dry pavement. Never any issues in wet, but then it’s a heavy EV with AWD. Competed in an Autocross with 12k miles on them and these tires were pretty darn good. Aired them down and they stuck. I would not hesitate to purchase again.

This is the OEM tire from Honda for my Type R. I love these tires. Excellent grip, sidewall strength, and quiet. I cannot give a wet traction review because my car hasn’t ever been driven in the rain. It’s a weekend/sunny day joy car. The tires don’t last much past 10k miles because they’re so soft. And that’s being pretty gentle with them. I’m sure I could thrash them in about 6k miles, but I just don’t drive hard All the time. I’m not a granny driver either, I pick my spots to have some fun. This is my second set of SportContact 6’s, and I’ll get them again 100%.

the tire handles well but unlike other tires that hold as well but ride softer

I was motivated to post a review given that so many other reviews seem to be skewed by the short tread life of these tires. I’m very particular about tires. I have been impressed with these on the audi. They have grip approaching competition tire levels. Hydroplaning resistance is good, not exceptional. But what is exceptional Is the tires ability to maintain wet grip and decent hydroplaning resistance beyond 50% wear. What is also impressive and mentioned another reviews is the fact that they are rather comfortable for summer tires. The most overlooked feature of this tire is the relatively low price. Yes, you may need a new set every year, depending on other variables, but they are literally half the price of the off-season tires that came with the car which only lasted 16,000 miles. If you push your car every now and then these are great tires. If you drive your SQ8/RSQ8 like a Q8, then you might want to consider all seasons. The OEM Hankooks, while super expensive, were excellent tires for more sedate driving.

I was worried that going to a dedicated summer performance tire from an all season might exact a significant toll on ride comfort. I was very surprised that this was not the case. Perhaps the Audi spec (AO) version has a softer sidewall? These tires are slightly softer feeling than the Hankook Dynapros that came on the car and seemingly have a fraction less feedback than the all seasons which is very unusual. If my observations are correct, perhaps Hankook specifically designed the AO Dynapro to be a super high performing all season tire. I shied away from the Michelin 4s SUV and Pirelli PZ4s because I through they might be too harsh on the SQ8. I'm not disappointed with the Continentals, but I was thinking they would be more aggressive in their handling traits and responsiveness. Overall a very polite tire with an aggressive tread, nice looking sidewall and tenacious overall grip. They're quiet now, but they're also brand new. Can't go that wrong with these tires on this car. Also, they were almost $300 per tire less than the all season Hankooks!

Wow, I should have really read the negative reviews more because now I'm writing one for the very same reason. The treadwear on these tires is horrible. The only lasted 8 months on great roads in South Florida. I simply cannot believe they are done after only having them 8 months. I don't thrash my car around, more like middle aged man take the on-ramp with some speed once in awhile. I'm considering trying to get some warranty replacements on them but it seems like Continental/Tirerack won't lift a finger. I was happy with their performance overall, but the treadwear is simply a deal breaker. I don't know who would want to be buying 2 sets of tires within the space of less than a year.

Just hit 21000 miles on these tires which came OEM from Tesla. The treadwear on these tires are awful. While all 4 tires wore evenly, they just wore out way too fast. I wouldn't get these again.

The tires thread wear is awful.
I’m in the process of replacing said tire now.
This wear is under normal driving conditions.
