Continental TerrainContact A/TThe TerrainContact A/T is Continental's On-Road All-Terrain tire developed for the drivers of pickup trucks, Jeeps, SUVs and crossover vehicles looking for civilized behavior on-road with the benefit of off-road capability when they need it. Designed to combine a quiet highway ride and long tread life with all-terrain performance, the TerrainContact A/T provides year-round traction in dry, wet and wintry conditions, even in snow.

TerrainContact A/T tires feature a +Silane enhanced all-season compound molded into a mild all-terrain tread pattern. The open pattern improves traction off-road, while the stable tread blocks and closed shoulder design help provide long tread life and resist uneven wear. The +Silane additives further extend tread life and increase wet grip, and the full-depth sipes and edge-of-the-block traction grooves increase all-season traction throughout the life of the tire.

Internal construction of the TerrainContact A/T includes two high-tensile steel belts with a spirally-wound polyamide reinforcement supported by a two-ply casing.

...Wet traction is unbelivable and in Florida the roads don't just get wet, they have standing water all the time...

My Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit is a wolf in sheeps clothing. The factory tires where never able to take what the truck could dish out, these tires can and then some. Wet traction is unbelivable and in Florida the roads don't just get wet, they have standing water all the time. The Summit is the high end luxury vehicle and I have not given up anything when it comes to a quiet, comfortable ride. I have had SUV's all my life and I have never found a better tire...really!

...Pretty quiet with excellent traction all around...

Love this tire for our Sequoia. Pretty quiet with excellent traction all around. Yet to puncture in the rocky Nevada desert. Tire excels at braking performance paired with an EBC stage-5 brake kit, as good as the Conti DWS106+ on my car. Will buy this tire over and over.

...With my diesel and a light bed the Goodyears were scary in the wet with how much they slid and lost traction; so I wanted the best wet grip I could and Continentals normally always are on the tirerack test... they are amazing in the wet and I no longer slide...

I put these on my truck to replace the OEM Goodyears. With my diesel and a light bed the Goodyears were scary in the wet with how much they slid and lost traction; so I wanted the best wet grip I could and Continentals normally always are on the tirerack test. I cover a large territory for work and go to shipyards on the Gulf Coast so I needed a tire that could do highway mileage well yet give me grip and some puncture protection while driving on sandy/muddy shipyards. So far these tire are everything I have hoped they would be. They aren't as quit as a highway tire but are real close, and my MPG has dropped about 1 mpg average. I don't mind that because they are amazing in the wet and I no longer slide and haven't had a puncture at the shipyards. If they last the advertised 60K miles I'll get another set.

...This tire has handled everything very well, and I was particularly impressed in the snow and ice. They have winter rating, but can be used year round, unlike most dedicated winter tires...

I have been looking for a more aggressive A/T type tire for this generation Explorer since I first got my 2014 model. I couldn't find anything in the 245 60 R18 size, and actually ran snow tires year round on my 2014. I do a lot of driving off of paved roads, as I do consulting for the oil and gas industry. The original Michelin Latitude tires, while a great highway tire, wore out in 22,000 miles driving on lease roads and pipeline rights-of-way.

I found this tire and have had it on since November 2017, putting about 3500 miles on them. During that time we have had a lot of bad weather. Rain, snow and ice. This tire has handled everything very well, and I was particularly impressed in the snow and ice. They have winter rating, but can be used year round, unlike most dedicated winter tires. I highly recommend them.

...I just put the truck into 4 wheel drive and the Continentals tore through everything. Went through some pretty good size drifts like they were not there...

Took delivery of my Truck in Feb of 2020. The OEM tires were terrible. Based on reviews I purchased the Continental Terrain Contact AT's. I use my truck primarily for towing a 30' 9000 pound trailer in the summer. The tires are top notch on the road. I also have had opportunity to go off road and was impressed with their performance. In the winter the truck sees infrequent use, unless there is snow. And we had some good snow storms last winter. I just put the truck into 4 wheel drive and the Continentals just tore through everything. Went through some pretty good size drifts like they were not there. When the time comes I will replace with another set of the same.

...They have already proved the outstanding traction they offer off road in the dirt.

Hits an excellent balance between traction, ride and durability, it is quieter by several decibels from the OEM Goodyear tires I replaced. The "A" temperature rating mileage rating were
my deciding factors, being in the South we see a lot of tires that break down prematurely due to heat. I have great expectations these tires will prove to be long lasting. They have already proved the outstanding traction they offer off road in the dirt.

Spectacular all round tire... These tires are awesome. We've taken them everywhere and no issues...

Spectacular all round tire. We live in Arizona so this time of year within an hour drive we can experience snow, mud, rain, dry desert, rocks etc. we spend a lot of time on the weekends camping and mostly on Forrest service roads in the back country. During the week normal highway commute. These tires are awesome. We’ve taken them everywhere and no issues. Surprised at how quiet they are on the highway and exceptional on the roads less traveled. I was pretty limited with tire types due to vehicle wheel sizes and couldn't be happier with the stellar performance Should’ve bought these sooner.

...My biggest concern buying was would the On/Off road be too off road and noisy. Not at all. As quiet as the OEM all weather no droning... In addition to quiet, they are excellent over bumps absorb and settle beautifully. A noticeably very comfortable ride.

I know these are brand new with only one trip of 200 miles . But look at the Tire Rack comparison test for this tire. I replaced the OEM CONTINENTAL CONTITRAC TR. These are impressive. I've not had them in all conditions mostly Hwy and unimproved road. My biggest concern buying was would the On/Off road be too off road and noisy. Not at all. As quiet as the OEM all weather no droning. Drove at Highway speeds , stop and go, then up and over the twists of VA's Shenandoah NP. Then over several miles of rutted cobble uphill unimproved road. Just outstanding. In addition to quiet, they are excellent over bumps absorb and settle beautifully. A noticeably very comfortable ride. Braking, traction, turn in, cornering, tracking at speed; just great. Aggressive tread provided excellent traction going up hill with loose rocks and gravel. Had a good rain before leaving. Excellent footing on the same wet rocks and gravel down hill.

Summary: these are quiet, comfortable, and predicable tires that absolutely live up the the TR test result. Hope they wear well as well and are as durable as the perform.

58000 miles and one of if not the best tires I've ever owned.
I'm now replacing with exactly the same tire.
Last November I drove 7 hrs straight through blizzard conditions with whiteout white knuckle conditions.
Snow plows taken off roads it was that bad.
These tires kept on trucking.
Only replacing because I had bad struts that cupped a couple tires, my bad.

I purchased these Continental All Terrain tires in fall 2018 and at 70K miles they have exceeded my expectations. I drive approximately 20K mile per year (mostly combined highway/city). These tires meet my needs for a midsize pickup used for daily commuting (with a touch of light hauling, light off road and snowy conditions).
These tires are especially good on pavement (dry or wet). During snowy conditions I slow down (in 4WD I don't experience any under steering or over steering going around turns).
It should be noted that when I bought the tires, I did make sure the wheel alignment of my truck was in good working order. I had the tires rotated every oil change (6-7K miles) and at 70K they are starting show their age and will be replaced this fall. The tires did pass a NYS safety inspection in June 2022.
I am currently looking into purchasing a 2022 mid sized pickup and I would not hesitate to swap out the OEM's highway tires with these Continental ATs.
