The Eagle F1 All Season is Goodyear's Ultra High Performance All Season tire, built for drivers of sports sedans, modern muscle cars, and performance coupes. It's designed to deliver the high speed traction and sharp handling enthusiasts expect in dry conditions, along with dependable grip and extended wear in rain, light snow, and other unpredictable weather.

Hankook Weatherflex GT callouts

A performance tuned, high silica compound is molded into an asymmetric five rib tread pattern that balances dry road precision with wet weather confidence. The closely spaced tread blocks of the central ribs provides sharp steering response and confident straight-line stability, while broad outboard tread blocks maximize road contact to enhance grip during aggressive cornering. Wide lateral notches and four circumferential grooves help evacuate water to resist hydroplaning, while sipes and biting edges throughout the tread enhance traction on slick surfaces, including ice and light snow.

Under the surface, a two ply polyester casing supports twin high strength steel belts, further reinforced by two polyamide cap plies for added stability at speed. The result blends lightweight construction with high speed capability and year round versatility.

Testing the Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06(04:49)

Timing may be everything. Certainly in the Ultra High Performance All-Season category the timing was right for Continental when they launched the original ExtremeContact DWS. Six years later it's time for their next Ultra High Performance All-Season tire, the ExtremeContact DWS 06.

Does this new design offer more than just a strong family resemblance? We test it against three of the newest and top-performing tires in the category.

I had no issues driving in the wet and was confident in braking and lane changing...

I waited until we had snow to review this tire and have been able to now drive in dry, wet, and snowy conditions...It handles impacts well, I was worried it would be a firmer riding tire, but it absorbed the minor bumps with minimal feedback...I had no issues driving in the wet and was confident in braking and lane changing...I am a sporty driver, and I know this is a truck but it handles any maneuvering I do with ease...So far very happy with the tire, road noise is minimal, handles well in all conditions.

...They performed very well on road and in rain. Surprising they did so well in rain. No slipping around...

What a great tire. I wanted something AT like but more quiet on the road and these were nearly silent. They performed very well on road and in rain. Surprising they did so well in rain. No slipping around. What surprised me most was how good they did in snow, ice, and especially offroad in loose dirt with gravel and rock with sand. They actually really shine off road and traction was never an issue. If only they made this tire in 285/65-20 I’d buy a set for my new truck.

...These are not true winter tires but have performed admirably in the fresh mountain snow and most recently in the 8-10 inch accumulation we just had on the highway. 4WD is not an idiot pass on snow/ice covered roads, but these were a marked improvement in grip on the pavement...

Put these on just before Montana winter kicked in. I just retired the Hankook Dynapro tires that were almost new when I bought my truck (245/75R16). They were not bald, but beyond my traction needs in the mountains. Stepping up to the Cooper Discovery Stronghold AT (235/85R16) has been a confidence inspiring change. These are not true winter tires but have performed admirably in the fresh mountain snow and most recently in the 8-10 inch accumulation we just had on the highway. 4WD is not an idiot pass on snow/ice covered roads, but these were a marked improvement in grip on the pavement. These are my 1st set of skinny tires, which might be a factor. However, the deep tread death and generous sipes are noteworthy features. While too small to float I have been impressed with the ability to maintain traction in 6+ inches of snow on inclined unmaintained roads.

If you on considering these tires I would HIGHLY recommend.

I cover a generous amount of highway miles. Both interstate and state route highways living in Montana. These are proving to be a great combination of road manners and off pavement traction. Running the dogs in the winter mountains is an enjoyable adventure again. The Hankook tires may have been slightly quieter when newer but cannot compare in traction on loose or slick surfaces. Well done Cooper.

...Very quiet, and great traction in snow!...

This has been an amazing tire so far! Cooper has been good to me in the past, and this tire is even better than previous. Very quiet, and great traction in snow! I tow 5-6k frequently . 12k miles on them with regular rotations and they look new yet. Buy with confidence.

...feel very good on dry pavement, steering is right on, no feeling of drifting on turns

So far very impressed with my Cooper Discover Stronghold AT 275/65R20 only have 400 miles on them, quite on the road noise, after about 60MPH I do hear some road noise but really nothing, feel very good on dry pavement,
steering is right on, no feeling of drifting on turns, tires are 5lbs less then the Maxxis Razr AT tire so I’m hoping for better MPG still reads the same
They balanced very nice the tech told me, mounted on Impact Off Road 829 Rims. No rain or snow or off-road use yet, but I’ll get there.
The looks are very impressive, also very aggressive tread, side wall pattern looks great too.

Update after 2000 miles tires still very impressive, up north in UP MI, gravel roads, soft sandy roads, muddy roads these tires grab very will no slipping at all, rainy roads spot on traction handled
All this condition in 2-wheel drive. Highway speeds 70-75mph in the rain grabbed the road great when accelerating no slipping, hooked up well. MPG still about the same

...Now that I have some miles on the tires I do notice a tire hum or whine at around 70 mph however i think that this is just more noticeable because of no engine noise in the electric truck. I think the motor of an ICE truck would drown out any tire noise...

I have had the opportunity to drive this tire through some pretty heavy Michigan snow and I am happy to report that it performed well above my expectations. If your driving conditions are packed snow and ice I would still recommend a dedicated snow and ice tire but overall this tire felt stable and comfortable in some pretty heavy snow storms. Now that I have some miles on the tires I do notice a tire hum or whine at around 70 mph however i think that this is just more noticeable because of no engine noise in the electric truck. I think the motor of an ICE truck would drown out any tire noise. I would recommend this tire to anyone with a normal truck but I would think twice with an electric truck about AT tires, one of the really special things about an electric truck is the whisper quiet ride.

...It rides really nice and has good feel, they balanced out nice and are smooth with no vibration at any speed. The only thing I would appreciate more would be a little less road noise even though its very tolerable this is on a Lightning and that truck is whisper quiet with an highway all season tire on it...

One of the things I most enjoy about this tire is that it has a really nice aggressive tread and sidewall without the extreme noise that you would normally associate with an off road tire. I would not go so far as to say that this tire is quiet but for the level of aggressiveness its a fair trade off. The tire I replaced was the Hankook Dynapro AT2 which although an all terrain is designed more for an on road experience and I like the design of the Cooper much more. It rides really nice and has good feel, they balanced out nice and are smooth with no vibration at any speed. The only thing I would appreciate more would be a little less road noise even though its very tolerable this is on a Lightning and that truck is whisper quiet with an highway all season tire on it. I will say though after a month of driving on them I don't really notice it anymore and I feel like on a ICE truck this would not be much of an issue. I am looking forward to seeing how well they perform in a Michigan snow storm.

These tire are great for city driving for an E ply. I ve had them offroad and they do like to grab gravel but what AT doesn't. I absolutely love them in snow and ice, I drive a canyon road for work and they do great. I have about 8000 miles and see no wear. I plan on buying these until they are discontinued.
