Cooper  Zeon RS3-G1

Have these tires for less than 600 miles. Huge upgrade from the Kuhmo's I had on. Car feels planted on all surfaces. Impeccable handling when driving through large puddles. Just plow right through. Steering feels solid and responsive. Wet traction is superb. I have not yet driven in the snow (only early November in NJ). Taking back roads on my way home for work is much more fun now. Tires handle really well. Will update in the winter.

I've always been a fan of Cooper tires, and the Zeon RS3-G1 does not disappoint. As a matter of fact, it is AMAZING!! The ride is smooth and quiet, the dry traction is excellent, and the wet traction is outstanding. You are basically getting top notch Summer Tire performance in an all-season radial, complete with a 40,000 - 50,000 mile warranty (provided all tires on the vehicle are the same size)! Cooper claims these tires surpass 1G on the skid pad, hence the "G1" in the model. I think I watched a video where the tires hit 1.06 on the skid pad.

I've only put 1,000 miles on them so I have not had the opportunity to drive in snow. I hope TireRack.com performs a review on them soon. I would love to see what they have to say about these amazing tires.

Probably the best tires you can get for the Dodge Challenger. Work really well in heavy rain at highway speeds. And they look amazing.

Absolute fantastic. I drive a 2015 Civic Si which is no Ferrari, but still puts these tires to the test. I am currently driving them in an Idaho winter, and they are fantastic. I drive pretty aggressive, and they only spin a little when it¿s about 40 degrees or less. I am very impressed with how they handle snow and ice. I drove on them 17 hours In the middle of the night on an ice covered road in 10 degrees, and they held perfectly. Didn¿t fish tail a single time. Definetly the best tire I¿ve ever had.

Replaced the Brigdestone UHP All Seasons and the day the new Cooper tires were installed I had to drive over a snow covered mountain. I was not expecting them to do so well in snow but they didn't even slip as I passed several SUV's that had slid off the road. Wet traction is also excellent. The tire feels a little soft to me, a bit of sidewall flex in dry cornering but grip is great. For a smooth ride that can handle rain and light snow this is a great bargain tire for a sport sedan. If they last 30-40K miles they are well worth the price.

Great tire. Not sure if it’s my AWD or the tires or combination of both but these tires are great in the rain, snow and even better in dry conditions.
Some reviewers with FWD or RWD may not like these but I cannot speculate or comment on their cars. I know that if you have an AWD car, these tires are a beast!!

These are some great tires i live here in Germany so I do alot of spirited driving these tires handles corners very nice, very good grip, very quiet all in all great tires.

I got these tires back at the end of June '17 and have already put 36k miles on the tires as of beginning of April '18. As one can tell, I drive quite a bit and, living in Northeast Ohio, can experience all 4 seasons in one week at times. I drive a stock 2012 Camry 4cyl but admit I'm quite an aggressive driver. I corner hard, brake hard, accelerate quickly ect. With that being said, tires are rated for 50k, I'm at 36k and tires are at 3/32nds. I've rotated and balanced every 8k-10k miles so tires have all worn evenly. They have gotten a little road noise as tread has gotten toward the wear bar but not much. Dry traction is awesome. Wet traction is great, even at 3/32nds, but my dilemma comes with snow. I hate the tire in winter conditions due to its lack of start and stop traction, but once you get going it disperses slush and muck just like it does with rain, so for that aspect I love them. It's a fantastic tire! Just, not for snow in my opinion. I'm a little disappointed I wont get to the 50k mile rating, but for the price and performance of the tire and taking my driving style into consideration, I'm still pretty satisfied. I've always been a fan of cooper and run Discover AT/3's on our SUV's and trucks without issue and love those also! Bottom line, I'd recommend this tire and will most likely purchase another set to replace the current ones. I just won't be running them next winter.

not even 30,000 on these tires and they need replaced. reviews showed so much more promise! They are definitely a comfortable tire but the last few thousand miles i've definitely noticed a change :(

Had Goodyears on before pretty well worn out. The Zeons ride 300% better, smoother, quieter , good response in all situations. The outside tread looks different, but they channel the water away from under the tire giving you more confidence. In any situation, , driving these make you feel more comfortable at the wheel, in more control. I highly reccomend these even if they are not run flats, add towing to your insurance, small price to pay or as i did buy a small air inflator and a tire plug kit. On a twisty road, spirited driving, my wife was leaning in the curves for how well these tires were holding the line. would defintely buy again, make my c6 vert feel like a new car again.

Happy I chose these tires. Great traction and comfort , most importantly it's smooth and quiet.

Compared to the factory, there is a huge difference. This tire is super sticky for a 300 treadwear. It wears good and is super quiet on the streets. Hangin with the guys with the ps 4 for half the money. Will definitely be my go to from now on.

I'll quickly summarize my review of the Cooper RS3-G1 for those not interested in reading a lengthy review.

If grip and only grip is your number one priority, and you've got money to burn, you will not be disappointed. They're incredible for keeping the car on point, especially during warm/dry days. But, if longevity or MPG is your number one concern, DO NOT BUY THIS TIRE.

I purchased 4 Cooper RS3-G1 for my Hyundai Tucson SUV, size 245 45 19. I've got 20k miles on them, hoping to get a few more thousand miles, but they are essentially ready for replacement. Rotation completed every 5k by yours truly. I do all my maintenance on the vehicle and rotate religiously.


Expanded Review:
For me, 20-22k is crazy low for the asking price Cooper wants. These tires, new at 245 45 19, are $173 each.

Now, to be fair, this tire isn't built for longevity. It's made for people with fast/muscle cars who can't resist the temptation to corner or drive at high speeds. This tire is built for fun, not economy.

Would I buy them again? Sure! But not at $173 a tire.

Personally, I'm not upset at the short life span since I purchased all four tires for $150! If I had paid the retail price, I would have been angry. I never buy tires retail prices for tires.

All four were purchased from a major tire retailer, DTD, on eBay. I'm assuming they were a 30-day test return. At the time, Cooper let you drive most of their tires for up to 30 days, and if you didn't like them, you could return/exchange them no questions asked.

I'm assuming that was the case for this set of RS3-G1s I picked up. The original buyer decided they didn't like them, and DTD threw them up on eBay and sold them as is.

The tires were still basically brand new, less than 2k miles driven. These tires have VMI (visual wear indicators) in the tread, and for each tire, the VMI was still reading 98% tread remaining. So for $33 a tire and free shipping, it was a no-brainer.

What I Learned - Good vs. Bad

These tires have amazing grip for my LS Camaro. When new, I had to really try to get them to break free. The Cooper Zeon has the best rain/wet traction of any tire I've ever driven.

A few months after I got the Zeons, I had an emergency situation on the interstate where I was about to get sideways at close to 70mph. The Zeons held. I didn't lose traction and was able to drive out of the situation. That was one of several times where I was certain, without a doubt, I'd have been in serious trouble on the Toyo Extensa's that were on the car when I got it.

The trade off for all that grip is that it's now a year later, maybe 45-50k miles on the Zeons and I'm shopping for new tires. I'm sure my driving style and the atrocious condition of the highway I have to drive are contributors to the relatively early wear.

There it is - amazing tires with less than average life span with "spirited driving" (lol) .
