The Grandtrek AT20 is Dunlop's Highway All-Season tire that was developed for the drivers of pickups and sport utility vehicles. The Grandtrek AT20 was designed to deliver low noise, a comfortable ride, and year-round traction, even in light snow.
The numerous Grandtrek AT20 sizes developed for the aftermarket are branded with UTQG Ratings of 500 A B and have been designed to provide a balance of traits appropriate for today's lavish pickups and luxury sport utility vehicles, while the few Original Equipment Grandtrek AT20 tires developed several years ago are branded with UTQG Ratings of 300 B B and appear to place emphasis on low rolling resistance to increase the vehicle's fuel economy above poor weather traction and treadwear.
On the outside, the aftermarket tires feature Dunlop's advanced all-season compound molded into a tread design that combines independent intermediate and shoulder blocks with a continuous center rib to enhance dry traction and treadwear. Then crosscut sipes, wide circumferential grooves and deep lateral grooves provide the biting edges needed to enhance poor weather traction. On the inside, twin steel belts stabilize the tread while a Dimensionally Stable Polyester cord body and bead design promote ride comfort, handling and treadwear.

Customers think the Dunlop Grandtrek AT20 delivers a smooth, quiet ride (7-10 scores) and strong dry traction with confident cornering, fitting its highway focus. However, treadwear concerns dominate, with many reporting premature wear (common 1-3 scores). Winter traction struggles in snow/ice (frequent 0-4 ratings), and wet grip shows inconsistency, though hydroplaning resistance fares slightly better. Dry performance shines with stable handling (7-10 range), making it reliable for everyday driving in fair conditions. While comfort excels, durability issues and limited all-season capability in harsh weather may give pause for drivers needing year-round versatility.

...Dry traction is pretty good, and gas mileage seems pretty decent for the most part...
The good; they are quiet going down the road, pretty comfortable as far as bumps and on-road manners, wear has been average I guess. I have not had the severe hydroplaning others report, but they aren't great as far as overall wet traction from what I've experienced. Dry traction is pretty good, and gas mileage seems pretty decent for the most part. They do not handle overly well, and braking seems pretty questionable but honestly that can as much be the brick I drive and the mechanical characteristics of the vehicle and not necessarily the fault of the tires.
Here's the bad; these are, without a doubt, terrible tires for any off-road type adventures and if I could possibly rate these in the NEGATIVE numbers as far as winter/snow performance, I would. I'm not a serious off-roader but I do like to hit an easy fire road here and there. These tires just don't want any part of it. This winter is the first snow I've had to drive in with these tires and I have to say they are borderline dangerous. I've been driving in the snow in New England for over 30 years, including 4x4's, various cars, and even rear wheel drive vans (for work) and I don't think I've ever had worse tires in the snow. Last storm I needed to use the 4x4 to move the truck in my flat driveway with about 2" of fresh snow on the ground.
This is a pretty sad OEM tire choice for a vehicle that is, otherwise, pretty capable and sold as an "Off Road" model. Seriously, Toyota?
Bottom line; these are okay for the 4Runner that gets mall crawler duty in warmer climates, but if you plan on tackling any type of terrain other than pavement, they're not great. If you live somewhere and snow is something you deal with in your life, get something else just as soon as you can because I would consider these dangerous.

I'm not sure why these tires get such a bad rap. I've got 30500 miles on my 4Runner and they are very comfortable on the road, quiet on the highways, have never let me down on dirt trails and mild off roading. They also did fine the few times we've had ice and light snow here in metro Atlanta as long as I did my part. In those conditions drive like your grandmother is in the back seat holding a hot bowl of chili... Tread life is good, the edge tread is showing a little rounding but that's to be expected. They are definitely not a hard core mud tire (and shouldn't be judged to that standard) but Toyota picked a winner as an OEM offering.

I have used this tire as it came OEM with my car Land cruiser Prado not lexus which is similar to lexus Gx460 it was very usefull comfort with most of the time city driving I drive two times long trip for more that 1000 km which was nice the biggest problem I have with these tires is easer to get needles in roads but treadwear was nice for 4-5 years in our weather it was fine with tread depth now of 4 mm neer to complete worn , over all experiance was good and recommend to buy again

Wet traction disappoints with numerous scores 0-5. Customers report slippery performance, hydroplaning, and sliding on wet roads. While some rate 7-10, concerns about mediocre wet grip dominate feedback.

...Hydroplanes easy, and is terrible in the rain overall. Driving my 4Runner with a sprinkle should not be sketchy...
Tires came stock on my 4Runner. Possibly the worst tire I’ve come across. Hydroplanes easy, and is terrible in the rain overall. Driving my 4Runner with a sprinkle should not be sketchy. Being in texas where it rains a lot that’s an no go. Even on dry road I find my tires chirping taking a normal turn at slow speeds. I lived in Utah for 2 years while I had these tires and it performs terrible in snow and ice as well. If my wife and I needed to go somewhere we would take her infinity sedan with highway tires because they performed better in the winter. Overall avoid these tires at all costs.

...They slid and spun on any type of wet road and I narrowly escaped several accidents due to their sliding and complete lack of grip in wet, snow or slick conditions. They even spun in 4WD on the street!...
This tire came OEM on my FJ Cruiser and it's the worst tire I've ever had. It was dangerous! They slid and spun on any type of wet road and I narrowly escaped several accidents due to their sliding and complete lack of grip in wet, snow or slick conditions. They even spun in 4WD on the street! They rode like balloons bouncing around due to weak sidewalls and cornered so bad the entire truck leaned and bounced. I was so worried for safety on the road, I wouldn't let my family in the vehicle. After a serious sliding close call, I swapped them out for a popular name brand AT tire and the difference was night and day. It was such a major positive change to no longer be riding on these slicks.
Do NOT purchase. They are very dangerous.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THESE TIRES IF YOU DRIVE IN ANY TYPE OF WET WEATHER. Even a drizzle. These tires came stock on my 4Runner and they were ok on the road before 35000 miles. But after that? Especially after 40000 miles, the hydroplaning on is downright dangerous. It’s been raining a lot in California, and these tires are scary going over 55 mph on the highway. How Toyota puts these on there trucks is ridiculous.
I STONGLY RECOMMEND AGAINST THEM in the rain or snow.

Winter traction ratings are concerning, with many scores between 0-6. Customers report slippery in snow, loss of traction, and getting stuck. Some note mediocre ice performance despite the all-season design.

I drive in central Pennsylvania and I can tell you these are by far the worst performing tire I have ever driven in the winter. They were ok on dry highway driving and adequate for dry city driving. However if there is any amount of snow slush or ice on the road even in 4 wheel drive your confidence will be greatly reduced. I have been driving for 30+ years and I had more confidence in a rwd 1978 coupe than I do with these tires on a modern 4x4 with traction control, locking diff and ATRAC. I was stuck in the driveway in approx 9 inches of snow. I'm deciding what to replace these with now, as these are just not a safe tire for any type of winter driving in PA!!

The OEM tires on my purchased-new 4Runner TRD Off-Road. In 35 years of driving, easily the worst tires I've had. Upside is a quiet ride. Very soft, wiggly sidewalls. Like riding on marshmallows at the recommended 32psi. More tire pressure makes them bounce down them road with even less traction. Every bump sends too much shock into the vehicle. Poor traction in wet weather and easy to hydroplane. No traction on snow or ice, literally none. Had to get rid of them at 3,000 miles. It wasn't worth risking my life to avoid replacing terrible tires.

Treadwear disappoints with numerous low scores (0-6) citing rapid wear and premature replacement. Despite some 9s/10s, excessive wear concerns dominate feedback for this highway all-season tire, falling short of expected mileage.

...With 8k kilometers on the tires at least half the tread is gone... these probably would not last 15k kilometers which is a joke...
These tires are absolute trash. For starters, these came stock on a 2024 Suzuki Jimny and I live in the Dominican Republic where the paved roads are poor and limited. Most roads are dirt. With 8k kilometers on the tires at least half the tread is gone. Granted, OEM tires are generally softer and sacrifice longevity for comfort and price, and tires wear faster off pavement, but these probably would not last 15k kilometers which is a joke. But the worst aspect of these tires is puncture resistance. I've had FIVE flat tires so far which is ridiculous, and that's not driving OFF off road, just on the dirt roads around town. Replaced them with BF Goodrich All Terrain tires and it's like night and day; more comfortable ride, more stability, more capability. It's telling that the All terrains are literally 300% heavier. While that would be a downside on a sports car, it's not for a 4x4. TL/DR: if you have these on a 4wd vehicle, keep your jack ready and start thinking about what you're going to replace them with as the tread will be gone before you know it.

Decent tire for treadwear but tire does not do well on wet pavement (rain, snow, or ice). We have slid around corners using this tire and had problems almost getting stuck in a few inches of snow. Will not get this tire again

These tires came on my 2015 Toyota Tacoma from the factory. I just replaced them at 47,000 miles because it is almost winter. They have about 5,000 more miles left on them if it was still summer which is really good especially for a tire that came from the factory. Overall they aren't a bad tire but they aren't great either. They squeal when cornering at speeds of 10 mph or more on dry pavement which is disappointing. However they are pretty quiet and rode decent at highway speeds. Winter traction was ok but nothing great. Had to put it in 4wd if there was anything more than a couple of inches of snow on the ground. They never hydroplaned and did well in the rain. I like the sidewall design and the treads wore evenly throughout the life of the tire. I just feel that they should perform better when cornering and during the winter for their price. There are better options out there for less money.
