My experience with these tires has generally been good. They provide very good dry handling, responsiveness, low noise and good ride quality. In the rain they are about average and snow traction is ok but nothing to write home about. I only have 12,000 miles on them and they seem to wearing fairly quickly (but evenly) which is a surprise since Im very careful about alignment and pressures. Id guess they are a soft compound tire which helps explain the good dry handling. If they make it past 45,000 miles Id consider buying another set, if not Ill look else where.

These AT20s are not that bad except for the treadwear. Is that softer tire compound sticking to the ground better? I dont know. No problem in the rain and so far, good performance in the snow after 2 winters [unless you think your king of the road with a 6600lb 4X4]. If you have a leadfoot, get tires with better treadwear, pay 150% more than these Dunlops [at time of writing] and get 50% better mileage. That doesnt add up does it?

This tire came as standard equipment on my 2006 Tacoma. I was originally un-impressed. They didnt appear to have an aggressive tread or stand out in any category. However, my opinion changed as the miles racked up.
They had great stability on wet roads and resisted hydroplaning very well. They wore evenly and were only rotated about every 15,000 miles. Although they were replaced at the listed mileage, they could have gone another 5,000 miles. I changed them because I travel up into the snow belt and didnt want to take any chances.
I would certainly recommend these tires and wish that I had replaced in-kind. I switched to Michelins (paid more for less performance). They appear to be a bargain for the price.

They also did fine the few times we've had ice and light snow here in metro Atlanta as long as I did my part. In those conditions drive like your grandmother is in the back seat holding a hot bowl of chili... Tread life is good, the edge tread is showing a little rounding but that's to be expected. They are definitely not a hard core mud tire (and shouldn't be judged to that standard) but Toyota picked a winner as an OEM offering.

I imagine Ill be avoiding water puddles like the plague whenever the tires have worn down a bit. Still early days, (only 8500 miles on truck) but had a couple of light snowfalls and these tires are a liability. Traction and braking are terrible and am now shopping for replacements, no way am I going to spend the winter with theses pigs, even though they are new.

Came stock on my '07 Tacoma. I wanted the highway tires instead of the on/off road tires because I rarely drive off road.
They are good in fair conditions for highway driving. It seems they were designed for high mpg and low noise.

I would not buy these again or recommend them to anybody. I would not take a free set nor would I sell my used ones to anybody. I guess if you live where it never rains, snows or gets cold then its possible they may be okay.
I don't have a problem with them during the warm 6 months of the year here in Iowa but I cannot stand them anymore for the cold 6 months and will be replacing them with 15,000 miles.

...Terrible treadwear is bad...but the uneven treadwear is totally unacceptable. Even with proper inflation and rotation every 5K, front tires keep wearing outside edge more rapidly than rest of tire.

These tires came with my vehicle. I wasn't happy with them within a few weeks of getting my 4Runner. Horrible in wet conditions, forget about it on ice. One other thing the temperature rating is "B", I use this truck to haul and pull with, I think truck tires should have a better temp rating bcs they are required to operate for extended periods of time while there hot. I probably wouldnt buy again.
