The Grandtrek Touring A/S is Dunlop's Crossover/SUV Touring All-Season tire developed to help crossover, sport utility vehicles and light duty pickup trucks meet the on-road challenges of everyday driving. The Grandtrek Touring A/S features Dunlop's Touch Technology to enhance road feedback and handling in dry and wet conditions, as well as was designed to combine ride and noise comfort with year-round traction, even in light snow.
The Grandtrek Touring A/S molds a tread compound that remains pliable across a wide range of temperatures into an asymmetric tread design to provide all-season traction and handling. Its stiffer outboard tread pattern features a notched outboard shoulder supported by a circumferential rib to enhance ride comfort, steering response and stability on the road. Siped central tread blocks along with independent inboard shoulder blocks enhance all-season traction and braking in light snow and stormy weather.
The tire's internal structure includes twin steel belts reinforced by Dunlop's JointLess Band (JLB) of spirally wrapped nylon under the tread to provide strength on top of a polyester cord body that helps cushion the ride. All sizes of the Grandtrek Touring A/S come with a flanged lower sidewall to help reduce the possibility of curb damage to expensive wheels.
*Specific sizes featuring low rolling resistance technology are identified as such on the Sizes tab, as well as on the tire's Specs tab.

Customer ratings show the Dunlop Grandtrek Touring A/S delivers a comfortable ride with smooth handling and low noise, though some note inconsistent comfort experiences. Treadwear receives mixed feedback, with concerns about longevity despite some reports of decent mileage. Winter traction struggles in snow and ice, falling short of all-season expectations. Wet traction (scores 7-8) provides reliable grip, though hydroplaning resistance varies. Dry traction stands out as a strength, with scores 8-10 highlighting confident handling and stability. Ideal for drivers prioritizing dry-road comfort over harsh winter performance, but tread durability may disappoint those seeking long-term value.

...Rain handling is good, running 75mph in heavy rain doesn't seem to upset them, nor does taking a rain-soaked exit ramp a little fast...
New car / OE tires, have driven 11,000miles at this point, rotated tires at 10,700 and all have 9/32" tread, should easily see 50,000miles before replacement. I have not yet driven in snow/ice, but the lack of sipes on the tread don't give me much confidence plus they're pretty wide for winter tires. I will probably look for a winter set before the first snow. Ride is good, originally I inflated to the factory sticker 48psi rear and 45psi front, they sounded like overinflated basketballs on bumps and I could feel expansion joints pretty well. Lowering just a little to 45/43 changed the sound and ride, I am happy. Handling is crisp enough for a 5000lb SUV on (255-50/19) standard M&S tires, a little better than expected. Rain handling is good, running 75mph in heavy rain doesn't seem to upset them, nor does taking a rain-soaked exit ramp a little fast. Dry feels good too, hitting an exit ramp at 2x the posted speed they feel balanced and responsive. I picked up this car and drove to Tire Rack hoping they'd give me something for these tires and I could move into a set of Michelins (my normal go-to brand for most of my vehicles), I've never had great luck with Dunlop (re-balancing, harsh ride, etc.). Unfortunately there was nothing they would do to credit me for take-off tires, they're really not a used-tire dealer so I'm not surprised. Anyway I decided to run these at least until winter (have driven 11,000miles in 3.5 months, I'll wear them out) and am surprised with the ride and performance. Reading the reviews here from Lexus owners it sounds like these tires are poor to marginal at best, but it is possible that the MO (Mercedes spec) tire is different than the Lexus spec, ... or maybe it's the vehicle. Also, I wanted to switch to LRR tires thinking I'd get better mileage, am averaging 33.1mpg so far on these (dash computer agrees with cumulative fuel purchases) so they must be fairly low rolling resistance (not sure what it takes to earn an LRR on the sidewall).

...With 20,000 + tire miles, 6/32 tread, 34psi (in-car measurement) at 65 to 75 mph, depending on how hard it was raining, there was no hydroplaning or even a tendency to hydroplane, and the tires were very responsive when changing lanes. Braking on wet roads is very good...
These tires came on my Lexus. Above average to good in all areas, although not excellent in wet traction. I just drove from Houston, TX to Dallas at night on I-45 in pouring rain for most of the way. With 20,000 + tire miles, 6/32 tread, 34psi (in-car measurement) at 65 to 75 mph, depending on how hard it was raining, there was no hydroplaning or even a tendency to hydroplane, and the tires were very responsive when changing lanes. Braking on wet roads is very good. Last winter I went down my driveway (VERY steep) with 4" of snow, and to my surprise I was able to keep the vehicle at a nice slow speed with no skidding, and steering was no problem. Driving 25 miles to work in those conditions was not a problem, although the traction-grip, handling and braking were not as good as Michelin Latitude tires I've had in the past. Road noise with these tires is not noticeable to me. Overall, not a bad tire.

Most customers rate dry traction highly with scores of 8-10, praising responsive handling and reliable grip. While a few lower scores note occasional concerns, the Grandtrek excels in its intended crossover/SUV touring use.

...Whether cornering or driving in city or highway conditions, this is an excellent and very satisfactory tire. The key attribute is that I simply do not think much about the tires while I drive.
Quiet, comfortable, and delivers a confident driving experience in wet or dry conditions. I live in Florida, so I don't drive in snow. But in the conditions in which I drive, whether cornering or driving in city or highway conditions, this is an excellent and very satisfactory tire. The key attribute is that I simply do not think much about the tires while I drive.

These Dunlop were surprisingly quiet, smooth, and comfortable. So much, the vehicle felt as if it were not connected to the road. After 30,000 miles the noise increased but bumps were still absorbed very well.
These were the OEM on my wife¿s RX 350 AWD. She is a very cautious driver as she always has a child in the car. These tires lasted 45,600 miles before two tires reached the wear indicators so I replaced them with Pirelli Scorpion Verde all season Plus which I paid $111 per tire on tire rack with a $70 rebate. These Dunlop were surprisingly quiet, smooth, and comfortable. So much, the vehicle felt as if it were not connected to the road. After 30,000 miles the noise increased but bumps were still absorbed very well. If the price of these tires were $125 instead of $200 I would consider them again. I have Michelin Premier A/S on my Volt and these Dunlop¿s were comparable in comfort and noise. Maybe we were lucky to get so many miles, we did rotate every 5k miles and had alignment done 3 Times. They never lost Air or had a flat or blowout or had any other problems with these Dunlop tires. Since this car is AWD, we have driven on gravel and dirt roads and they performed as an expensive tire should. I will review the Pirelli when we get some miles on them. However, just from the few miles I¿ve driven on them, the bumbs are much more pronounced and the tires fell a lot stiffer and more performance oriented than these Dunlop¿s. Overall I am satisfied with this tire because of its comfort and quiet performance, which match the Lexus very well.

Winter traction receives concerning scores, with many ratings between 0-5. Customers report slippery conditions, lack of snow grip, and getting stuck. While some rate 7-10 for light winter use, most highlight unacceptable performance in deeper snow and ice.

...The tires do not inspire confidence in winter driving and I'm unsure why they're even considered M+S. Tread pattern is old school and lacks features & sipes for winter driving...
Worst mainstream brand & OEM tire on a brand new vehicle in 40 years.
We just now approach 24000 miles on our 5 year old GLE. Mostly local highway and interstate. Relaxed driving in a rural state. Primarily used during the winter months, or trips with family. The tires do not inspire confidence in winter driving and I'm unsure why they're even considered M+S. Tread pattern is old school and lacks features & sipes for winter driving. Worse OEM tire than Continentals on our ML, though quieter those. Tread wear is even, vehicle tracks great etc so the wheels or tires are not damaged, no edge wear, etc but we're at 3 to 4/32, visibly close to the wear bars; so the tires have to go at only 24000 miles. I don't want to risk driving with them this winter. Incredibly bad longevity.
These Dunlops simply do not last and shame on MB's bean counters for fitting such tires OEM.
One thing is for sure. Dunlop joins the list of Continental and Hankook ... all now fitted OEM on MB ... unbelievable, really! I will never buy anything these brands sell, if I have a choice.

...Snow traction was pretty poor ( managed to get completely stuck few times in few inches of freshly-fallen snow), same with ice (prepare to see the traction control's yellow triangle warning light a lot, even if you're driving well below city street's speed limit)...
This is a stock tire on our model of GLK, which unfortunately came with these huge 19" wheels with "uncommon" tire size. Dry traction is acceptable, but with occasional tire squeal (when taking few sharp turns in "spirited" manner), wet traction is slightly worse, especially when tires were new. Snow traction was pretty poor (managed to get completely stuck few times in few inches of freshly-fallen snow), same with ice (prepare to see the traction control's yellow triangle warning light a lot, even if you're driving well below city street's speed limit). Really a "3-season" tire, unless you live in a place which never gets snowfall or sub-freezing temperatures. Ride comfort is pretty acceptable, so is the noise level, but the treadwear is a little bit excessive even if you don't try to drive in a "spirited" manner.
All in all I'd say this tire is not worth the current asking price (might be acceptable if Dunlop priced it for $100 less per each tire), regardless of the place you'll be buying from. And speaking of the place - be aware that due to "unusual" 19" tire size on this GLK model most local tire shops will not have ANY replacements except this OEM Dunlops so make sure to order the tires of this size here on Tirerack, just not this model (Tirerack has few other all-season models/brands of this exact tire size).

Treadwear shows concerning inconsistency, with many scores between 0-6 citing rapid wear, premature replacement, and disappointing mileage. While some rate 9s-10s, frequent low ratings highlight excessive wear and dissatisfaction for an all-season tire.

...20,000 miles on SUV. Tires are down to 5/32. With 200 treadwear rating, that's not surprising, but still unacceptable.
Absolute garbage. 20,000 miles on SUV. Tires are down to 5/32. With 200 treadwear rating, that's not surprising, but still unacceptable. There is no doubt that the reason Mercedes puts these on is because they are 1.cheap and 2.probably last just long enough for the 70% of people that lease these SUVs.
There are so many better options out there, no reason to buy these. I don't think they'll make it to next winter, which is fine since I'll be buying some Michelin Defender LTXs anyway.
