The Grandtrek Touring A/S is Dunlop's Crossover/SUV Touring All-Season tire developed to help crossover, sport utility vehicles and light duty pickup trucks meet the on-road challenges of everyday driving. This is my second sets of Grandtrek. My first one was 235/55R19 (240 wear, with LRR), a direct replacement of the OEM Michelin Latitude Tour on my Audi Q5 3.2. They were very comfortable, quiet, okay traction dry and wet, though showed some uneven wear at the end (after 40K miles). Snow performance was weak...
I bought another set a couple of months ago in a different size, 255/50R19 (200 wear, no LRR, Mercedes OEM). Reason? It was cheap ($150). Guess what... this set feels VERY DIFFERENT, almost completely different tyre. They offer solid traction (the extra width surely helped too). I usually turn corner very fast and often pushed the previous 235 tyres to screaming (I do car racing on track so bad habit:). But this set easily lift the limit for another 8-10 mph in the corner very stably. I go skiing a lot, crossing Sierra Nevada in snow often. They behaved MUCH MUCH better than the previous set. Very solid traction changing lane in heavy snow (speed was around 40 - 50mph). And very quick to regain the traction after quick turn on snow/icy road.
Biggest problem? OMG they are noisy... MUCH worse than the previous 235 set. It feels like wood barrels were rolling under!
Conclusion: the Mercedes OEM one (255/50R19) is great and cheap except being noisy. The non-MB one (235/55R19), hmm, almost opposite...

New car / OE tires, have driven 11,000miles at this point, rotated tires at 10,700 and all have 9/32" tread, should easily see 50,000miles before replacement. I have not yet driven in snow/ice, but the lack of sipes on the tread don't give me much confidence plus they're pretty wide for winter tires. I will probably look for a winter set before the first snow. Ride is good, originally I inflated to the factory sticker 48psi rear and 45psi front, they sounded like overinflated basketballs on bumps and I could feel expansion joints pretty well. Lowering just a little to 45/43 changed the sound and ride, I am happy. Handling is crisp enough for a 5000lb SUV on (255-50/19) standard M&S tires, a little better than expected. Rain handling is good, running 75mph in heavy rain doesn't seem to upset them, nor does taking a rain-soaked exit ramp a little fast. Dry feels good too, hitting an exit ramp at 2x the posted speed they feel balanced and responsive. I picked up this car and drove to Tire Rack hoping they'd give me something for these tires and I could move into a set of Michelins (my normal go-to brand for most of my vehicles), I've never had great luck with Dunlop (re-balancing, harsh ride, etc.). Unfortunately there was nothing they would do to credit me for take-off tires, they're really not a used-tire dealer so I'm not surprised. Anyway I decided to run these at least until winter (have driven 11,000miles in 3.5 months, I'll wear them out) and am surprised with the ride and performance. Reading the reviews here from Lexus owners it sounds like these tires are poor to marginal at best, but it is possible that the MO (Mercedes spec) tire is different than the Lexus spec, ... or maybe it's the vehicle. Also, I wanted to switch to LRR tires thinking I'd get better mileage, am averaging 33.1mpg so far on these (dash computer agrees with cumulative fuel purchases) so they must be fairly low rolling resistance (not sure what it takes to earn an LRR on the sidewall).

These tires came OE on my Mercedes GLK and I have been quite impressed with their performance in both wet and dry. The dry performance is the better with some harshness over rough roads. I expect to replace with 45,000 miles on a heavy vehicle. I will consider this same tire again or another Dunlap tire because they provide very good balance in all performance categories.

...First, the dry traction: it's pretty good, nothing negative that I could notice...
These tires came originally with our GLK350 4matic. They don't have a lot of miles on them yet so I can't really say anything about thread wear. What I can tell is the different traction performance, since I had the chance to drive our GLK through last winter's 19" snowfall. First, the dry traction: it's pretty good, nothing negative that I could notice. The wet traction is also acceptable. There were no abnormal noises which I could notice so far and the ride is pretty comfortable (partially due to excellent Mercedes suspension setup, which is just about perfect for pothole-ridden streets of NJ/NYC areas). Now for winter traction: it is somewhat acceptable for slight amounts of snow and slow driving but absolutely not acceptable for driving through a deep amounts of snow. Doesn't matter if you still have enough clearance between bottom of your vehicle and snow surface - if the tires will lose traction (which these do in deep snow), you're screwed, especially when going up the slight incline. Overall they are acceptable for warm weather driving but I would definitely not use the vehicle with them if you just got a 10+ inches of snow "dump", doesn't matter if you have a 2WD, RWD or 4WD vehicle with locking differentials and a "low range" gear selection.

I also had them through the New England winter this crazy year, and just for fun after 1 foot snowfalls i would go out driving. Not sure what the guy above is talking about, but i ran these though unplowed roads, up hills etc. and through 1 foot plus of snow. The thing will go through anything. The Mercedes 4matic is pretty advanced, yes, but the tire certainly did its job as well from my perspective. Was not sure what to expect with this tire, but am happy with it an i am very discerning when it comes to my tires. I've also driven them at 120 mph on open road..smooth as can be.

These Dunlop were surprisingly quiet, smooth, and comfortable. So much, the vehicle felt as if it were not connected to the road. After 30,000 miles the noise increased but bumps were still absorbed very well.
These were the OEM on my wife¿s RX 350 AWD. She is a very cautious driver as she always has a child in the car. These tires lasted 45,600 miles before two tires reached the wear indicators so I replaced them with Pirelli Scorpion Verde all season Plus which I paid $111 per tire on tire rack with a $70 rebate. These Dunlop were surprisingly quiet, smooth, and comfortable. So much, the vehicle felt as if it were not connected to the road. After 30,000 miles the noise increased but bumps were still absorbed very well. If the price of these tires were $125 instead of $200 I would consider them again. I have Michelin Premier A/S on my Volt and these Dunlop¿s were comparable in comfort and noise. Maybe we were lucky to get so many miles, we did rotate every 5k miles and had alignment done 3 Times. They never lost Air or had a flat or blowout or had any other problems with these Dunlop tires. Since this car is AWD, we have driven on gravel and dirt roads and they performed as an expensive tire should. I will review the Pirelli when we get some miles on them. However, just from the few miles I¿ve driven on them, the bumbs are much more pronounced and the tires fell a lot stiffer and more performance oriented than these Dunlop¿s. Overall I am satisfied with this tire because of its comfort and quiet performance, which match the Lexus very well.

I got my RX350 for 2 months and the cars originally came with Michelin Latitude Tour HP. However, Michelins are just too stiff and whenever the car hits the bump, it is like a concrete tire hitting a solid bump and shock just sent straight to my neck.
Dealer agreed to swap Dunlops from one of their 2013 RX loaner to mine. Ride comfort difference is immediately noticed. Bumps are softened and no more harsh shock to my neck.
3rd gen RX suspension is stiffer than 2nd gen for sure and I still feel bumps. But with Dunlops, ride is softened well over bumps even on bad San Francisco roads. Road noise is louder than Michelins but it is still ok. Steering feel a bit less responsive than Michelins. However, ride comfort is my top priority. Will buy again if these tires can last 40K miles.

Worst tire performance experienced in many years. Can't say how strongly it's recommended to buy something other than the Grandtrek Touring A/S. Very disappointed and surprised Lexus chose this as one of their OEM tires.
The Dunlop's came stock on our new RX450h. Ride quality was well cushioned but the sidewalls felt like they flexed to much, resulting in a somewhat bouncy and unsettled ride. Increased tire pressure up to 7 psi over factory recommended and ride improved only a little at the cost of increased noise. Impact noise was okay, with the tire tread droning just a bit above 30 MPH.
Figured the tires just had to be broken in...waited 1000 miles with no change. Threw the Dunlop's tires out despite the low mileage. On a recommendation from the Lexus forums, replaced with Yokohama Parada Spec X tires which transformed the vehicle performance... so much better to drive now. Only negative is fuel economy is down .5 to 1 MPG, but drastic safety and performance improvements are well worth it.

Worst mainstream brand & OEM tire on a brand new vehicle in 40 years.
We just now approach 24000 miles on our 5 year old GLE. Mostly local highway and interstate. Relaxed driving in a rural state. Primarily used during the winter months, or trips with family. The tires do not inspire confidence in winter driving and I'm unsure why they're even considered M+S. Tread pattern is old school and lacks features & sipes for winter driving. Worse OEM tire than Continentals on our ML, though quieter those. Tread wear is even, vehicle tracks great etc so the wheels or tires are not damaged, no edge wear, etc but we're at 3 to 4/32, visibly close to the wear bars; so the tires have to go at only 24000 miles. I don't want to risk driving with them this winter. Incredibly bad longevity.
These Dunlops simply do not last and shame on MB's bean counters for fitting such tires OEM.
One thing is for sure. Dunlop joins the list of Continental and Hankook ... all now fitted OEM on MB ... unbelievable, really! I will never buy anything these brands sell, if I have a choice.
Back to Michelin.

Great tire if you don't mind buying new ones every 20K miles. With the 280 treadwear rating I knew they wouldn't wear very long... I normally don't buy any tire that has less than a 400 treadwear rating and now I know why...

I bought these tires because I was recommended by one of my buddies who owned the same vehicle like mine and he said Dunlop tires came originally with his vehicle and that they were great, my vehicle is 2013 LEXUS RX450h and factory tires came with Bridgestone Dueler which I didn't like much either, because the tread would get bold so fast, but they were definitely better than DUNLOP trash, also the reason I bought them was because I got 4 brand new set of Dunlop for $520 which were dirt cheap comparing to Bridgestone Dueler or Michelin Premier LTX which cost close to $1000, but I regret it very much for not buying those because now I have to spend close $1000 anyways when instead I would still be using one of two mentioned above.
My Dunlop Grandtrek still have a lot of tread in them, its just the noise problem is ridiculously loud, I feel like Im driving 1950 Ford with the noise I hear from font tires, they are loud and scary, they make you think that your car has a steering or shocks problem, I went to mechanic shop 2 times to get checked and both times the mechanic recommended me to change my ----ty tires!

The road noise was pretty high too. If I didn't drop my speed to 20 mph, or under, going around this turn in a local road, the tires would squeal and people would stare as if I was doing 50 mph around the turn.
