The SP Sport 7000 A/S is one of Dunlop's High Performance All-Season radials developed for Original Equipment use on sporty sedans. The SP Sport 7000 A/S is designed to combine low noise, good ride comfort and dependable handling while blending traction on dry and wet roads, as well as in light snow.

The SP Sport 7000 A/S molds an all-season tread compound into an asymmetric design that features independent tread blocks on the outboard shoulder, nearly continuous intermediate and center ribs, and siped independent tread blocks in the inboard shoulder to combine dry road responsiveness with highway stability and low noise. Circumferential grooves and lateral notches help water flow through the tread design to enhance hydroplaning resistance and wet traction. The tire's internal structure includes twin steel belts reinforced by Dunlop's Jointless Band (JLB) technology that uses spirally wound polyester or nylon cord (depending on tire size and application) on top of a polyester cord casing to combine high-speed durability with a comfortable ride.

Dunlop SP Sport 7000 A/S Reviews

Feedback suggests challenges balancing performance for the Dunlop SP Sport 7000 A/S. Dry traction earns praise with many 9-10 scores, highlighting confident handling and responsive cornering. Wet traction shows varied experiences-some report adequate grip (7-8 range), but lower scores (2-4) raise concerns about hydroplaning resistance. Comfort receives mixed feedback: while some note smooth rides (7-9), others cite noticeable road noise or harshness (scores as low as 1-2). Treadwear emerges as a key concern, with frequent low ratings (0-5) suggesting durability may fall short of expectations for a high-performance all-season tire. Prioritize dry performance, but consider wet limitations and treadlife tradeoffs.

...When it was new, the grip in dry was decent, I could take wide turns at 45+ mph without ever breaking traction, sharper turns at 25mph were no problem as well...

These were OEM tires off my 2011 Honda Accord 4cyl sedan. I used to regularly take my car up to the canyons near my home and thrash on them, which to my surprise they handled pretty well. At 38,800 miles I have maybe 2-3/32nds left of tread life left on them with some noticeable camber wear in the rear due to my car being lowered.

When it was new, the grip in dry was decent, I could take wide turns at 45+ mph without ever breaking traction, sharper turns at 25mph were no problem as well. Wet performance was average. I never hydroplaned them when they were newer. However, at around 20,000 miles the performance in the rain was junk. I realized this after taking a left turn onto a freeway on-ramp in light rain at roughly 15-20mph and instead of turning left my car skidded violently straight across and nearly landed me into a curb. Road noise when new was terrible. They roared audibly in the cabin at highway speeds when they were brand new and even after I broke them in.

Now at 38k plus miles, the tires are generating an audible humming noise when driving on the highway on top of the road noise I mentioned about when they were new. They also howl when taking a turn at any speed above 40mph like on a long sweeping freeway ramp, regardless of how gingerly I turn the wheel. They have never gone flat on me (except for the couple of times I ran over nails on the road) or generated flat spots. The ride is decent on these as well, soft and absorbent, but not to the point where you lose all feel of the road. Overall I would probably never buy these tires for the brand new price. Maybe if I ever came across a really dirt cheap used set just to get by.

Mixed results for wet traction, with concerning scores between 0-6. Some customers report mediocre wet performance, sliding around, and a tendency to hydroplane despite being an all-season tire. Hydroplaning resistance also shows inconsistent ratings, indicating room for improvement.

...My impression the first time I drove in the rain was that I didn't seem to have control of the road the way I did in my previous car with Michelins. Then yesterday I hydroplaned big time on the highway at 60 mph, and there was only a moderate amount of water on the road...

For an OEM tire, this tire really isn't that bad. The handling and road noise seem fine, but then again, this is the only set of tires I've ever had on this car, so what do I have to compare to? The issues I have with it are hydroplaning and icy driving, in addition to tread wear. My impression the first time I drove in the rain was that I didn't seem to have control of the road the way I did in my previous car with Michelins. Then yesterday I hydroplaned big time on the highway at 60 mph, and there was only a moderate amount of water on the road. I measure the tread depth today and there's still 4/32nds of tread on the tires, so I would say that this tire is just prone to hydroplaning much more than my previous sets of Michelins ever did.

Regarding icy driving, my tires were only four months old the first time I drove on ice, and I had two major problems. I skidded through a red light, and fish tailed in the Walmart parking lot at no more than 5 mph. These two issues never happened in my previous cars with Michelins. Maybe the fish tailing could be something inherent in the car (again, since this is my first set of tires on my Altima, how do I know?), but I never encountered this problem with my previous cars. Skidding through a red light was a real eye opener too, since I had never done that before either.

I tend to be hard on tires and never get the mileage promised, but only getting 24K miles on these tires by the time I'm down to 4/32nds of tread depth didn't seem very good, but then again they're OEMs that came with the car.

To summarize, I'd say that if you don't have to do much snow or ice driving, these tires aren't too bad, but the hydroplaning could get you killed, so for that reason I wouldn't recommend them. Except for driving through puddles though, the rest of the wet traction seemed ok.

Nissan Altima OEM tire - when the tire was new the only complaint I had was wet traction. Noise , comfort are excellent for sure and dry traction when new was fine. We rotate tires regularly so wear is even and at 21,500 a still may have 5,000 of wear remaining - but the wet traction and even dry has deteriorated significantly to the point that I can easily spin the tires at low speeds on dry pavement, and spin out on wet. The wet performance has triggered me to look at replacing them early.

...Wet traction was adequate at best even when the tires were new. These have the worst winter weather handling of any all season tire I've ever used...

These came as original equipment on my Infiniti. Tread life is bad; after 21000 miles they are worn to 3/32 on all 4 tires (at least they wear out evenly). Wet traction was adequate at best even when the tires were new. These have the worst winter weather handling of any all season tire I've ever used. The winter traction with an AWD vehicle was as bad as some RWD vehicles I've driven. I will definitely not be purchasing another set.

Normal driving there pretty good although after about 8000 miles one of the tires created a thumping noise every rotation, the garage nor I can find the problem or what tire is doing it.. they spin pretty easy on gravel roads on take off... snow.... forget it, they ----.. we just had a small snow storm, 3 inches of powder show and traction was aweful... the smallest hill all I could do was spin and barely made it... noise level seems to be fairly quiet except for that 1 bad thumping tire. If you live in a area that gets snow I WOULD NOT recommend these tires.. if you live in Maine please dont buy these tires for winter use. Very unsafe in snow... not sure on ice yet but I have my doubts

Came stock on my brand new Nissan Altima and they are awful. Don't plan on driving anywhere with any snow on the ground. I've lived and driven in upstate NY my entire life and these are by far the worst handling tires I've ever had in the snow. Very sad that I am considering buying new tires with only 12,000 miles on these. I've read other reviews about the tread wear being awful too. DO NOT BUY.

These came standard on an Infiniti QX50 that we bought just prior to last winter. I grew up driving real and front-wheel drive cars in the snow, so I've been trained well. The first time I felt the back end slip out while cornering carefully in snow, I was concerned. By the third time this happened, I literally double-checked to make sure that we weren't given the RWD version of this car. Then I checked the TR reviews for the tires -- the reviews are spot on: this tire is really dangerous in the snow. They're getting replaced before another winter goes by.

OEM tire for my '14 Altima. Ride very harsh. Can feel every pebble/bump on the road. Feels as if they have 100PSI in them when it's set at 33PSI. Vibration in the seat at higher speeds. Road force balance did not help this. Also flat spot in the AM even when warmer out or after sitting for a few hours. Overall just a bad tire that rides very poorly. I am now forced to buy new tires for a car with only 2500 miles on it due to the ride quality. Never bought Dunlops before and NEVER will. Headed to Michelin

...Granted the car is not sound deadened like a Lexus. And tires will exhibit noise...

Great tire in every regard for standard driving except for road noise. I have 40,000 mostly highway miles on these OEM tires on a 2010 Honda Accord. Tread life is still at 40 percent with perfect and even wear. They were noisy since new and have only gotten worse to the point where they will regrettably need to be replaced, although they still look great. Granted the car is not sound deadened like a Lexus. And tires will exhibit noise. But OH. MY. WORD. The other above average attributes and cancelled out by the noise. It's not an issue with a single tire - it's not a broken belt. It's like a radio controlled plane next to each tire - buzzing noise increasing with road speed until I'm almost laughing at how crazy it sounds! Tires still look good - and maybe at 40K I should be happy with this OEM tire. But the noise is intense and unacceptable. I would honestly recommend avoiding these for that reason. I'm shopping for tires for another of my cars and these same Dunlops are available for it and I won't be buying them. This seems to be a common complaint with these so take heed.

Unfortunately, I missed rotating the tires and unded up with cupped tires, which caused lower noise and comfort ratings. Plus, Accords generally are somewhat noisy. I checked the tread and I have 50% left, which is amazing when you consider that I have 61,500 miles on the tires now. I could give a better assessment if the tires didn't cup. I drive slowly because I'm not in a rush to get to work plus I don't like the costs of repairs for aggressive driving.

An unimpressive tire, particularly the treadwear. My wife is a very average driver, and these tires only have 4/32 of tread left after 26000 miles. Performance is generally average in most respects, slightly below average in wet traction and snow performance.

One tire has developed a slow leak on the wheel, apparently not uncommon for this tire. Would never buy again, and are replacing with a different brand and type.

These were actually the OEM tires on our Sienna mini-van, and I can't believe that such a reputable auto-maker put these pieces of garbage on one of the most popular minivans on the road !! We drive above average number of miles in a year, and put 34,000 on them in a little over a year and a half. Treadwear rating of 340, seriously ?!? They were fine at first, but when i noticed that they started slipping and hydroplaning this spring & summer, i started keeping a close eye on them. Just replaced them with a set of Michelin CrossClimate2 tires, and even my wife noticed a huge difference (she usually wouldn't say much, so this should tell you how terrible these tires are). Don't waste your money with these - just do a little research and you will easily find something better ...
