Feedback patterns show the Firestone Affinity Touring tire struggles with treadwear (scores 0-8), with many customers reporting premature wear and durability concerns. Ride comfort receives mixed feedback (scores 0-10), as some note harshness over rough surfaces despite occasional praise for smooth highway performance. Winter traction (scores 0-9) is inconsistent, with multiple reports of poor grip on snow and ice. Wet traction (scores 0-9) raises concerns about hydroplaning and reduced confidence in heavy rain. Dry traction stands out as a relative strength (scores 5-10), with many users praising confident handling and stable cornering in dry conditions. While suitable for standard all-season use, its limitations in harsh weather and durability may affect long-term satisfaction.

...Dry traction is exceptional...
These tires have a very smooth ride and exceptional wet traction in the rain. They provide very good steering response. Dry traction is exceptional. They are original equipment tires on a 2013 Honda Civic LX 4 door sedan with electronic traction and steering control. I have owned the vehicle for 2 weeks since the last weekend in April, 2013. I have to wait until winter to know how these tires can handle snow and ice conditions on the roads. Time will tell how well the tread will wear on these tires.

I have been pleased with them. this car is my daily run around car, but I do drive quite spirited and love the way they grip. The tires work perfect in dry and rain conditions quiet, and super smooth rolling.
In snow they work not too well but you have to understand you are not driving on mud/snow tires, so you will slide. I have gotten a great 68k out of these tires, which I'm happy with. but since they are worn down, I'm replacing them before winter.

OE tire slips very easely on wet road. Even slips on dry road under hard accelaration. No real problem on hot dry road. My traction control often slowes engine when pulling out or cornering under accelaration due to tire slippage. Even going up hill in the rain can be difficult, I have to accelarate very slowly. other cars passing but if I press on pedal more tires spin. This is probably the worst tire that I have ever driven.

...These things have the worst traction wet, and absolutely useless in snow from 1/4 up...
WORST tires I have ever had on a car. These things have the worst traction wet, and absolutely useless in snow from 1/4" up. These came on my 15' Civic SE, and if I had the money to replace these tires on a new car I would do it in a second. These are terrible tires. If you live in any snow areas, DO NOT buy these for any reason. I may bite the bullet and just replace them before I get killed sliding off the road AGAIN.

...They have absolutely no traction in any amount of snow, wet pavement traction is also very poor, an all season tire they are not...
These tires came OEM on my HHR LS and are some of the worst tires I've ever owned. After sitting over night in cool weather the tires get flat spots like old bias ply tires and it takes several miles to get them round again. They have absolutely no traction in any amount of snow, wet pavement traction is also very poor, an all season tire they are not. Tread wear seems good but on such poor performing tires who cares.

...They biggest issue I have with these is they have some drift / loss of traction in snow...
This OEM Tire is pretty good. I did not rotate my OEM spare tire and still got over 60,000 miles on a set of 4 tires. I plan to replace these before 70,000 miles. They biggest issue I have with these is they have some drift / loss of traction in snow. I plan to compare this $140 tire vs. others in my purchase decision.

These tires were included when I purchased a slightly used Honda civic. On dry pavement, they are fine, but I live in the Midwest where there is lots of snow, ice, and precipitation. These tires are awful in the snow and ice. I am going to get rid of them and purchase a better set of all season tires as these are treacherous on any kind of snow or ice. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

...Added a LOT of refinement to my Neon Sport Coupe which had T-rated Eagle RS-A's as the OEM tires. The high steering effort at low speeds thanks to my Neon's 16:1 performance steering rack is very much reduced. The road texture noise is a fraction of what it was. Sharp-edged bumps no longer rattle my teeth.
I have a love/hate relationship with the T-rated Affinity Touring. These replacement tires had a *significant* impact on my Neon in good ways and not-so-good ways. First and foremost these tires added a LOT of refinement to my Neon Sport Coupe which had T-rated Eagle RS-A's as the OEM tires. The high steering effort at low speeds thanks to my Neon's 16:1 performance steering rack is very much reduced. The road "texture noise" is a fraction of what it was. Sharp-edged bumps no longer rattle my teeth. These tires have excellent hydroplane resistance. They look like they will last forever. The down side? A *major* loss of both wet and dry grip and a *major* loss in responsiveness during hard cornering. You can feel the tire rolling over onto the soft flexy sidewalls during spirited cornering. If you hate buying tires and drive carefully this is the tire for you. If you have a sporty tire now and you want to maintain a modicum of handling ability look elsewhere. These tires come as original equipment on some Saturns and most Chevy Malibus FYI.

Almost to the wear bars at 32,000 kilometres (approx 20,000 miles). These are the fastest wearing tires I have ever owned. Since Firestone does not acknowledge the poor performance of these tires I will be purchasing from another manufacture. This combined with the other Firestones in the news has caused me some concern as to your products.

...While the ride and handling are nice, the treadwear is lousy. At just about 34000 miles, I have somewhere between 2/32 and 3/32 of tread left. This is not acceptable, even though most of our driving is in the city...
These are the OE tires on my van. While the ride and handling are nice, the treadwear is lousy. At just about 34000 miles, I have somewhere between 2/32 and 3/32 of tread left. This is not acceptable, even though most of our driving is in the city. We do not do jack rabbit starts or brake hard. I would expect tires like this, with a high treadwear rating, to last at least 40000 miles if not 50000.
I did not experience the noise issues noted by other posters. In fact, I thought the tires were quiet.
An earlier poster complained about how the tires are prone to cupping and uneven wear. That was my experience, too, even though we have the van regularly serviced, with the wheels balanced and rotated. When I had a tire technician inspect my tires, his first question was about our alignment history and if the dealer had suggested replacing any suspension components. Weve had the van aligned as needed with no mention of the need for new struts, etc., so this comment worried me until I saw the earlier post that these tires are prone to cup and wear unevenly.
Bottom line is that I would not recommend these tires as replacement tires. If you have them on your vehicle, use them as long as you reasonably can, but switch to a better tire.
