...they are light tires, and very low rolling resistance, yet they have excellent wet weather and light snow traction. i'm most surprised by their performance on wet rooty and rocky trails in BC...
these are a mild AT tire, with an on road bias. they are exceptional, and score very very high in almost all tested categories, here and by other third party instrumented testers (i won't mention the tire test site here). i only buy tires that have independent instrumented testing, that is followed with reviews by owners. they are light tires, and very low rolling resistance, yet they have excellent wet weather and light snow traction. i'm most surprised by their performance on wet rooty and rocky trails in BC. i do air down to 20 psi for the relatively mild off roading i do, to reduce punctures and improve the ride quality and they have really surprised me on wet, slick rocks and mud. i was far down a tight trail and had no option but to continue through a deep mud hole that could have totally bogged me right down (frame deep) but the tires (and 4LO, locked rear diff) and the Xterra's brilliant capabilities tractored right out. that was a test i didn't anticipate as i avoid mud at all costs, so i'm pleasantly surprised. they aren't the best looking (not 'tough') compared to more off road AT tires, and i doubt they will be all that durable over time, (they are so light) but they are definitely high performing, quiet, and help with mileage, so at this point, i have only praise for them.

...Traction especially in the snow seems very good. I used them frequently off road (ranch use) and they work well...
This is the third set of Destination AT I have owned. Over the years the tire design has evolved but they remain a great choice. They're reasonably quiet and smooth riding. Traction especially in the snow seems very good. I used them frequently off road (ranch use) and they work well. They're quiet at highway speeds though part of this is that the Ram has a lot of isolation, when the windows are down you do hear them at 30-40mph, not at highway speeds. Durability seems good, I put 15K on this set so far but got 50K out of a prior set, they were not worn out but since I have to have good snow traction I replaced them anyway.

...Living in Wisconsin it's of utmost importance to have above average tires throughout the winter. I will eventually need a newer truck and I have every intention of buying a new set for that truck just like the last three sets!!...
Love these tires. The original set came with the 2006 F150 when I purchased it. Since then I have replaced all four tires twice over several years. Living in Wisconsin it’s of utmost importance to have above average tires throughout the winter. I will eventually need a newer truck and I have every intention of buying a new set for that truck just like the last three sets!! PS Tire Rack is the only place I buy my tires! ...On the dry roads over Monarch Pass, Kenosha, and into Denver, they were great - not noisy, cornered well, and good stopping.
I was a little uncertain about these. I liked the previous version, but these appeared different enough that I wasn't sure what to expect. I took my first trip over the mountains (CO Western Slope to Northern CO) and I am quite satisfied with them. On the dry roads over Monarch Pass, Kenosha, and into Denver, they were great - not noisy, cornered well, and good stopping. On the VERY snowy trip back down Highway 285 and west across 50, they were great. Handled snow, slush, and ice at moderate speeds, and didn't give me any problems going through about a foot of fresh snow into an unplowed parking lot.
I haven't used them off-road yet, but the last set (plan A/T, not A/T2) were solid.

...I'm not sure of the actual tread depth but after 20k miles of mixed driving they show no apparent signs of wear and the ford dealer marks them as near new each service...
After having a few sets of Destination AT tires over the last 20 years, with great results, I decided to try these AT 2 tires. These tires shine in every situation I’ve used them, just like the old ones. Dry and rain are nothing to these tires, even in standing water at fairly good speeds the tires pump the water out and stay planted. Snow and frozen slush doesn’t stop me with these. All I do is drop the speeds down to something reasonable and the truck will handle confidently. Light farm mud is no big deal either, it just goes. Very quiet since new and very little weight required to balance them. My truck has its alignment check once a year and tires rotated every 5k. I’m not sure of the actual tread depth but after 20k miles of mixed driving they show no apparent signs of wear and the ford dealer marks them as near new each service. These firestones aren’t the cheapest but they aren’t the most expensive either. I don’t give a crap about a wild looking tread or sidewall. These look good and perform perfectly for me. I’ve never had a bad Firestone tire, and I’ve had a lot of them. I’ll keep buying these tires for my family’s safety. The only thing holding you to the road and gripping when braking or turning is a few small contact patches, don’t cheap out.

...They wear like iron. After 30k miles my first set of these tires still had about 1/4 of the tread left...
Second set of these tires. They are very good in snow, heavy rain, wet roads and regular driving. Quiet on the highway and steering response is very good. They wear like iron. I usually replace my tires every three years since my truck is outside and exposed. After 30k miles my first set of these tires still had about 1/4 of the tread left. My driving is 50/50 highway and around town and some dirt and unpaved roads. Use my truck for some light towing and tires are solid around town and on highway. Tire Rack service is great. Have bought many tires from them and always happy.
