Just purchased these tires last week. Haven't had an opportunity to drive these tires in severe conditions just yet. On dry and wet pavement these tires are excellent with outstanding corning grip and are very quiet. Will review again in spring. This product is a winner so far.

...road hugging and the wet traction is unbelievable...all the others would slip on wet roads when pulling out from inclined stops.these i have to fully tromp on the gas,and even then only occasionally get a fraction of slip. its like glue,honest...
I have used these on the wifes jeeps [3 0f them] so even at only 50 miles in i can confidently tell you how great these are in winter.first time on my truck though ,and it feels like i am driving on sneakers!smooth, quiet ,road hugging and the wet traction is unbelievable.since that first set on the wifes jeep , i knew i was never experimenting with any other tires.these tires ROCK !after 35 yrs of buying tires for my trucks and suv's i have never been as happy as with these.and i have tried dozens of brands and styles.all the others would slip on wet roads when pulling out from inclined stops.these i have to fully tromp on the gas,and even then only occasionally get a fraction of slip.its like glue, honest . if i could, i would buy a set for my riding tractor !only tire i am getting for life, period.

...They have been excellent on dry, wet, snow and ice-covered roads. They work really well with my Explorer's traction control...
Bought these tires to replace the Michelins that my Explorer came with. They have been excellent on dry, wet, snow and ice-covered roads. They work really well with my Explorer's traction control. My wife even says that she drives speed limit even when there is heavy snowfall and she says she never feels like the vehicle skids or loses traction. The treadwear has been great. If I ever get a different truck or SUV, these are the tires that are going onto it no questions asked.

Most customers rate winter traction highly, with many scoring 9s and 10s in snow and deep snow. Ice traction is strong with scores 7-8, though a few note isolated concerns. The Destination A/T delivers confident grip in rugged winter conditions.

...Great ride and Winter traction...
I have owned many differnt AT tires over the years. These are one of the best. Road noise is almost none even with 285's. I went one size up. Great ride and Winter traction. Wearing great at 20k. Fantastic look. I will put a set on our Jeep Grand Cherokee in the future. Firestone tires...U.S.A. !!

...Perfect traction all thru the winter and we got a lot of snow this year...
Excellent! Bought these because of the reviews. I've owned 22 cars and trucks and gone thru many different tires. These are the best. No hydroplaning even in the heaviest rain, no slipping on ice or water. Perfect traction all thru the winter and we got a lot of snow this year. I put on about 35-40K miles a year. I will buy these as long as they're made. No question about it.

...Braking is not a strong suit on my '02 SUV but stopping distance was much improved with these tires. Not loud, great wet and dry traction...
After 40K miles on my Suburban Z71 I am replacing these tires with the same. Braking is not a strong suit on my '02 SUV but stopping distance was much improved with these tires. Not loud, great wet and dry traction. Not enough snow or ice driving here in the deep South to rate performance there. Also, the 285 17's fit the wheel opening w/o any adjustments and give it a beefier look.

...This tire is great in snow and has good dry traction...
After having this tire installed the front stablizer needed to be replaced with a HD model, per Jeep this tire is too heavy. I also went from 19+ mpg to under 17 combined. This tire is great in snow and has good dry traction. I had Michelin's LTX M/S installed before and will go back them next time around.

...They make the Rangers feel like driving a front wheel drive. These tires are just awesome...
Haven't had these on winter roads yet and only have 300 miles on this tire but... our fleet vehicles (all Ford Rangers) are horrible for wet and snowy roads. We have had many many many different tires on these trucks and all act the same way. But these Firestone ATs are not so. They make the Rangers feel like driving a front wheel drive. These tires are just awesome. I was hoping for a decent tire but we got a fantastic tire. If we can get 20,000 miles out of these tires and have the same traction throughout their life I wont be disappointed. Hopefully we will get much more, but 20,000 good miles is way better than 50,000 miles slipping and sliding around always worried about wrecking. If you have a vehicle that can't seem to keep traction when it is wet YOU NEED THESE TIRES!!! We have tried almost every brand known and these are the first to even come close to acceptable. If you buy these tires and use them on the right vehicle (in otherwords don't put them on a very small vehicle or a very large one) you will not be disappointed I promise you.

Very good tire for how long I've had them, not long. So I can't comment on treadwear. But they are way more quiet than the worn Dueller a/t revo's that I took off, and they were only slightly chopped. So I can say the ride and noise of these tires is really good, also wet and snow traction are superb as well.

...great on road manners, relatively quiet, good steering response... At this point, there is a noticable increase in ride noise and harshness, but wet and dry traction appear minimally changed from new...
This review is written with 61K miles in 34 months, about 2/3 highway miles and the rest city miles (which here in Chicago might at well be considered mild off-road conditions). There are occasional off-pavement forays on midwestern farm and forest roads, but no extreme terrain. I purchased the vehicle with 90K miles and put new Bilsteins and rubber on at the same time.
I will be replacing the tires within 3 months, so I have new rubber for winter. At 61K miles, there is still substantial tread left for a non-snowy climate, but that's not where I drive. At this point, there is a noticable increase in ride noise and harshness, but wet and dry traction appear minimally changed from new.
Pros:
Value--spectacular performance and wear for the money
Snow Traction--both light and heavy snow are no problem
Ride Comfort--great on road manners, relatively quiet, good steering response
Toughness--after some gruesome pothole encounters both in the city and on the highway, I can assure you that these tires offer a high level of immpact protection
Cons:
Cold Traction--on both wet and dry pavement, there is a noticeable drop in traction below 30F. My expectation was better performance than delivered in "all season" tires. Driving habits had to change when the temps dropped. Too easy to break tires loose under heavy acceleration in the cold with my vehicle's torque.
After 30 years of driving a variety of light trucks and SUVs, I bought my first ever set of Firestones b/c of the ratings on Tire Rack and the price point well below Michelin. A big "thank you" to the Tire Rack customer base for pointing me in the right direction--these tires far exceeded expectation for both value and comfort. I intend to drive this 4Runner into the ground, and expect my next set of Destination A/T's will not be the last.

...The first set had 90,000 miles on when I replaced them. They were at the wear bars so I probably should have replaced them at 85K like I am going to do on this second set...
This is the second and only set of Destination LEs I have had on this vehicle. The first set had 90,000 miles on when I replaced them. They were at the wear bars so I probably should have replaced them at 85K like I am going to do on this second set. These have been great tires. Even with minimal tread left I have had no problems in the snow which we have had plenty of this year. I do have 4x4 and every week go skiing in the White Mts, These are such a great tire but I am thinking of switching to the Destination AT for a little more aggressive tread. In reading other reviews I cannot understand how other people get less than 45K miles on these tires. Even driving aggressively you should get at least 60K. Again, a great long life tire and highly recommend.

...The tread wear has been extremely good and wet traction has only diminished slightly over time...
I replaced the original BF Goodrich tires on the Xterra at about 41,000 miles. The Firestone's were an immediate improvement in handling, comfort and noise. Have driven them in dirt, rocky ground, light snow, heavy snow, rain and mud. They handled all conditions remarkably well for a street/all terrain compromise tire. They did require what I felt was a large amount of weight to balance, but did hold the balance well. The tread wear has been extremely good and wet traction has only diminished slightly over time. I recently had a puncture from what we believe was a very sharp rock while off-road in New Mexico. Since the current tires are "P" tires I may consider heavier but more durable "LT" type as a replacement.
