The Firestone Destination LE2, Firestone's Highway All-Season tire, was developed for the drivers of light-duty pickups, vans, crossovers and sport utility vehicles. It is designed to combine long wear, a comfortable ride and all-season traction, even in light snow.
The Destination LE2 uses a silica-enhanced light truck compound molded into a symmetric tread design that helps grip the road in dry, wet and wintry conditions. Notched shoulder blocks backed by continuous ribs work together to promote dry road handling, even wear and long treadlife. Circumferential and sweeping grooves across the tire's footprint help evacuate water to resist hydroplaning and enhance wet traction. Cross grooves, stepped inside shoulder rib notches and zigzag sipes provide biting edges that promote traction in snow.
The tire's internal structure features twin steel belts reinforced with spirally wrapped nylon to provide strength, uniformity and durability on top of a polyester cord body that helps cushion the ride.

Testing Highway All-Season Tires Designed to Tackle the Daily Drive (03:03)
You drive a pickup or an SUV, don't really drive off-road, and want a tire that delivers predictable handling, reasonable ride comfort, good treadlife, and traction in a variety of conditions.
That may be a lot to ask. But if it's what you're looking for, a Highway All-Season tire should fit your needs. So we hit the test track on the new General Grabber HTS 60.
User feedback reveals the Firestone Destination LE 2 delivers strong treadwear performance, with many customers noting long-lasting durability, though a few report uneven wear. Ride comfort receives consistent praise for smoothness and low noise. Winter traction is generally reliable in light snow, but some note reduced confidence on ice. Wet traction earns high marks for grip and hydroplaning resistance, while dry handling is highlighted for responsive steering and stable cornering. Scores cluster in the 7-10 range across categories, with most customers expressing satisfaction for highway and all-season use. A small subset mentions treadwear concerns, but overall performance aligns well with its intended purpose.

Put my first 1,000 miles on this tires and so far I've been very pleased. Had a hour and half highway trip on them and they road smoothly with little to no road notice changing from concrete to asphalt surfaces. We live in the Mid west and have had wet pavement to snowfall every week since buying the Destination LE 2. These tires have performed as advertised...they grip better than expected. Felling much safer on these than the Yokahomas's .

...What a instant difference in handling, reduced road noise and wet traction... I actually had the chance to take the SUV for a test drive in a closed track because yes I am that critical about the safety of my family in this car with no compromise and was very impressed with the handling and grip in wet, dry, and simulated emergency maneuver drills...
I originally had the OEM Bridgestone Dueler tire on the car which is easily the worst I have ever had on all the vehicles I have owned in my 25 years of driving! BUYER BEWARE about the Duelers: The worst part is that the tires come with NO MILEAGE WARRANTY at all which is ridiculous and way for the Nissan to save a few bucks per tire. Ask the dealer to replace the tires when buying a new car to a set with a warranty. I am a highly experienced driver and hold a track racing license where ability to determine tire performance is critical to success and safety so I know what I am talking about. Some of the reviews here I have to quickly dismiss such as someone who was using winter tires year round and raving about the reduced road noise after changing (really..Duh!?) You really also have to consider the vehicle using the tire and skill of driver which will skew results. We have since replaced the tires after extensive research with the Firestone Destination LE2 tires and they are a HUGE upgrade from the worthless OEM tires. As a club racer I am always on the lookout for the most bang for the buck but felt no compromise with the LE2's. What a instant difference in handling, reduced road noise and wet traction. I always had lacked confidence going around highway speed curves as the vehicle seemed to drift away from you even at the speed limit resulting from diminished steering feel and had to play with the wheel to keep it balanced. After changing to the Firestone it was like we had just bought a luxury performance SUV. I actually had the chance to take the SUV for a test drive in a closed track because yes I am that critical about the safety of my family in this car with no compromise and was very impressed with the handling and grip in wet, dry, and simulated emergency maneuver drills. Best part is that the tire is very reasonably priced but don't let that fool you as this is a high quality replacement. Would have spent more on another tire but honestly no need.

I wanted a quiet ride and good traction in snow... They handled the last snow storm with ease.
I did a tremendous amount of research before deciding to buy these . I wanted a quiet ride and good traction in snow. I must say the research paid off, this car rides so much quieter now. The factory Nexen tires really needed replacement when I bought the car last year yr. with 23k on it . Tires were ok till I got new ones. These really met my expectations for tires. They got quieter as they broke in . I hope they stay that way for most of the life of the tire . I highly recommend these for a Sportage . Mine is FWD 2.4l ( miles on tire 1,266) They handled the last snow storm with ease .

Living in New York my priority has been to have great traction in the snow. Was running firestone snow tires year round, trading off noise and wear for great winter driving. Despite the traction, the tire hum just wore me down. Began looking for tire with great snow traction with silence. The reviews of LE2 were always excellent so gave it a shot. What a difference!! Smooth, virtually silent-as compared to a set of firestone snow tires, and look great. So far traction in rain seems to be excellent. Will add my winter experience as it comes. As of now, buy these tires. Great value.

Most customers give the Firestone Destination LE 2 excellent dry traction scores of 9s and 10s, praising its reliable grip and responsive handling. A few note slightly lower scores between 7-8, but overall performance aligns well with its all-season highway design.

So far with 5,000 miles on them I am very pleased with them. The ride is very smooth and quiet. It was between these and the Yokohama Geolander and these were a little cheaper so I went with them. 1st time owning Firestone tires but so far only good things to say about them. Now only if they last the tread life it will be great !!!

I am purchasing my 3rd set of these tires. They are great for highway driving, quite ride and good traction. I usually get 85,000 to 90,000 out of these tires. I wore out one set early due to not having the wheels aligned on a consistent schedule. I have 205,000 mile on the Santa Fe and hope to get to 300,000 with this new set of tires. Just remember to rotate your tires every 5,000 miles (for me its every 10 weeks.) and keep them aligned. Great tire and I would recommend them to everyone.

Very very durable tire. We bought our CPO Rav4 with 48K miles and are replacing as I type this with exact same tires at 105K. There is still some tread so the 60k claim by Firestone is accurate. Ride comfort on the 18's is not spectacular but decent considering the treadlife. Handling is very good and Snow traction is good and predictable up to I would say about 3-4 inches. Great tire.

I have these tires for 4 years and did 70000 on them before replaced with the same tires. I did love them as hold the corner well, brakes very well and traction is outstanding even during snow season. Downside is that it is easy to hydroplane if thread goes down half way and nose is a little bit higher than Michelin LT that I had before. These tires are very good for highway and everyday commute for the budged. There might be a better tires you can find but these are definitely my choice #1.
