The Firestone Destination LE2, Firestone's Highway All-Season tire, was developed for the drivers of light-duty pickups, vans, crossovers and sport utility vehicles. It is designed to combine long wear, a comfortable ride and all-season traction, even in light snow.

The Destination LE2 uses a silica-enhanced light truck compound molded into a symmetric tread design that helps grip the road in dry, wet and wintry conditions. Notched shoulder blocks backed by continuous ribs work together to promote dry road handling, even wear and long treadlife. Circumferential and sweeping grooves across the tire's footprint help evacuate water to resist hydroplaning and enhance wet traction. Cross grooves, stepped inside shoulder rib notches and zigzag sipes provide biting edges that promote traction in snow.

The tire's internal structure features twin steel belts reinforced with spirally wrapped nylon to provide strength, uniformity and durability on top of a polyester cord body that helps cushion the ride.

...They are awesome on dry, wet, snow and ice roads...

I waited until now to post a review so I could rate all levels of weather and traction. I LOVE LOVE LOVE these tires. They are a year old now, have about 8000 miles on them. I bought during black friday last year, got one free when bought 3, which was a deal since $140 per tire. They are awesome on dry, wet , snow and ice roads. They dont leak alot of air, so checking once a month, only lose 1-2 psi per tire. Smooth and quiet on all kinds of roads, also bumpy roads on highways they silence somewhat. Just got snow/ice last week and eager to see how would handle...went thru the snow like it was melted butter and the ice at cautious speeds, gripped well esp when gently braking to stop. No rear sway ( rear drive ) or slippage on ice as driving cautiously. So very impressed with Firestone, havent bought since they had the recalls from over 15 yrs ago...they have a customer back.

...These tires are the best I've ever had for wet traction & hydroplaning resistance and they work pretty darn good in the snow...

I've used a lot of different tires on my Suburbans over the years, but these have been the best tire I've used so far! Great ride & handling along with being one of the quietest tires I've ever used on an SUV. These tires are the best I've ever had for wet traction & hydroplaning resistance and they work pretty darn good in the snow. I had a problem early on with these tires getting them balanced at first, they had to be RoadForce balanced to get them right even though I bought them mounted & balanced from Tire Rack on new rims. The other problem is that at 25000 miles, three out of the four will not balance even on a RoadForce machine. I would have expected a little more life out of these, they have already used up 1/2 of their tread depth.

One thing I will warn everyone on, if you buy your tires with new rims upgrade to McGard Tough Nut lug nuts! The lugnuts that Tire Rack sends you (included in the purchase of new wheels) are junk, I had 6 of them freeze on the studs and the rest rusted badly within 6 months. Do yourself a favor & spend the extra money for good lug nuts!

...Wet traction is very good so far. ABS has been quiet...

Use the TR reviews for my research, so I'll add a review. My truck had Dunlop Grandtrek for O.E. Tire was nothing special, but got 19 to 20 mpg (30 psi). Lasted 38K miles (rotate every 6K), then purchased a set of Yokohama Geolanders per the reviews. Could definitely feel the stronger sidewalls of this tire. Their wet road traction was fair, but my ABS seemed to kick in often, on wet roads. Was a decent tire, but dropped 1 to 2 mpg (32 psi). Got 48K miles on the Yokohama's. Pretty good tire, but a more aggressive tread and stiffer sidewalls, caused a stiffer ride, and more noise. Time for a new set, so after reading the reviews, I went with a set of Firestone Destination LE2. What a great tire! Haven't had Firestones, for a decade, but this is a great all season tire for my truck. My truck rides much smoother and quieter. Bumps are now just quiet thuds, instead of loud bangs. The ride is smooth and steady, and not jittery. The truck tracks straight, with little wander, even in the wind. Handling is very good. The tire takes an instant to load, but has excellent grip thru tight cornering. Wet traction is very good so far. ABS has been quiet. I'm very happy, because I got my 1 to 2 mpg back (35 psi). I'm very happy with this tire and the price, and if Firestone doesn't change it, I would buy another set.

I wanted a quiet ride and good traction in snow... They handled the last snow storm with ease.

I did a tremendous amount of research before deciding to buy these . I wanted a quiet ride and good traction in snow. I must say the research paid off, this car rides so much quieter now. The factory Nexen tires really needed replacement when I bought the car last year yr. with 23k on it . Tires were ok till I got new ones. These really met my expectations for tires. They got quieter as they broke in . I hope they stay that way for most of the life of the tire . I highly recommend these for a Sportage . Mine is FWD 2.4l ( miles on tire 1,266) They handled the last snow storm with ease .

...Dry traction is as expected...

I bought these tires to replace the stock Continentals, which I suffered through for way too long. The Destination LE2 make the CR-V ride smooth as silk and relatively quiet, especially on the highway. Dry traction is as expected, wet traction is fantastic. I wish I had bought these long ago.

...I had the tires mounted and immediately was impressed by the handling and traction... I've never managed to break the tires loose on dry or wet pavement, and even snowy conditions have been excellent...

Since you could see the steel belts on my old tires I was seeking high and low for a good set of tires for my truck without spending much money on an old clunker. I found the destination Le 2's on tirerack and was happy with the reviews and the price. There were tires that were slightly cheaper but not by much and not even close as far as consumer reviews are concerned. I had the tires mounted and immediately was impressed by the handling and traction. I've put about 6000 miles on them in New England from the 95 degree days of summer to 6 inches (so far) of snow and everything in between. The most memorable moment was on a steep hill in the rain where on the old tires I would have switched to 4x4 to get moving and the truck just went on like the pavement was dry. I've never managed to break the tires loose on dry or wet pavement, and even snowy conditions have been excellent. To be fair the truck doesn't have excessive torque but I tend to push it to the max. I hate road noise and these have been very quiet tires for me so I'm quite pleased. Overall I'm very satisfied and I'm shopping for a set of these for my new to me 2008 gmc sierra 1500 now since the tires on it are obnoxiously loud. I'm hoping they will stand up to the additional power of the new truck and still firmly grasp the pavement. I'll include a review for the new truck if/when the upgrade happens.

...best tires I have had on this vehicle...

I installed the set of tires myself and currently have 4,000 miles on them. I have had other tires before on this vehicle. Yokohama, Generals, and Goodyear. Out of all of them these have been the best tires I have had on this vehicle, I would buy them again just for the wet traction-experienced them with the mounds of rain we recvd on the east cost. Cant wait to see what they do in the snow which we usually get here in Virginia in January. Quite ride I could not believe this being a 4-wheel drive vehicle, this will be my next set of tires when these wear out (but I do balance and rotate me own tires)

...Overall really liked them for comfort... They are a little soft when cornering but for cruising they ride nice...

These tires are warrantied for 60k and i got about 53k out of them, not horrible but not great. Tires were rotated every 5,000 miles, alignments when needed. Overall really liked them for comfort. Road noise was a little high but I always found traction to be good in all conditions. They are a little soft when cornering but for cruising they ride nice. Just purchased a set of BFGoodrich Advantage T/A same size after reading reviews. Overall i like the firestone but not enough to commit to them again.

...My favorite qualities of these tires are the ride comfort and longevity. At 55,000 miles they still probably have another 10,000 miles left...

I've had these tires for about 2 1/2 years and I have been quite pleased with the overall performance.
I live in the snow belt of western Michigan and these tires have seen an awful lot of snow and wet/icy pavement. They have never let me down in light or deep snow. I try to drive responsibly in bad conditions and the tires perform very well. In situations where I've gotten perhaps a little too aggressive under similar conditions, they still handle well, but stopping ability is greatly decreased, more so than with other tires I've had over the years. But if driven with common sense, no issues.
My favorite qualities of these tires are the ride comfort and longevity. At 55,000 miles they still probably have another 10,000 miles left. Not bad considering how bad our roads are around here.

I'm so pleased with your firestone tires 235/50/19, it's my second set on the road overall I fell in love with it, Overall, I think it's a great tire because it's quiet, responds quickly, and doesn't produce much noise, I have 2 young kids and 2 seniors I know I can hear their voice in the car instead of tire noise. So, I can suggest Firestone keep improving and go the right direction and safety and keep that safety on top of them, way to go Firestone.

...At current wear level I should get about 55K out of them, which is good for me in this vehicle...

Comparing these to my OEM Dunlap Grandtreks, and Uniroyal Laredo Cross Country's- very quiet, comfortable ride, very good handling and braking in dry and wet, good in light snow, above average in deep snow and on ice (but there aren't many hills around here so they might rate just average in deep snow and ice). Rolling resistance must be high, as highway MPG is about 1 to 1.2 MPG less than I got on the Dunlaps and Uniroyals (I do the same 600 mile trip every other month), but difference in ride, noise and handling makes up for it. At current wear level I should get about 55K out of them, which is good for me in this vehicle. Pricing on these make them a good choice.

...What is astounding to me is that we have 31,000 miles on the tires, being rotated every six months, and the tread depth registers at 8/32. Based on that we should exceed the 60,000 warranty easily...

This tire has outperformed our expectations. We use it in town and on the highway. We estimate that with our Toyota Highlander we get about 18 MPG in town, and 22-25 on the highway. I have been very pleased with the handling in dry, wet and light snow. It is quiet tire and we bought it 2.5 years ago it was very reasonably priced. What is astounding to me is that we have 31,000 miles on the tires, being rotated every six months, and the tread depth registers at 8/32. Based on that we should exceed the 60,000 warranty easily. We had factory Toyo's on here before and while they handled well and were quiet, they did not make past 41,000 miles. We would buy the Firestone Destination LE2 tires again as they have exceeded our expectations.

...The ride very quiet and drive straight... On dry roads they are quiet and pretty smooth even in this Liberty which is not the smoothest vehicle on the road due to the short wheelbase.

I put these on in November replacing some aging Goodyear SRAs which were good on the dry highway but not much else. I couldn't bear another winter on those. I think I can give a good review now that I have driven on these tires from dry to wet to mild snow to deep snow (12 inches) and slush. The ride very quiet and drive straight. In deep snow they did not disappoint. No hydroplaning on water or slush. Good up and down hills.
