Standard Touring All-Season tires are for drivers who want a combination of sporty appearance, long wear, predictable handling and S- or T-speed rated durability, along with all-season traction including in light snow. Standard Touring All-Season tires branded with the M+S symbol are often used as Original Equipment (O.E.) on sporty coupes and sedans.
O.E. Standard Touring All-Season tires are typically purchased as direct replacements for worn-out pairs/sets of the vehicle's original tires. They can also be used for other vehicle applications in complete sets of four or axle pairs if available in an appropriate size, load range and speed rating to match the existing O.E. tires' performance category and specifications.

For most drivers, a tire that offers good traction, comfortable ride and reasonable treadlife is a good fit. Many Passenger or Standard Touring All-Season tires are designed to deliver exactly that.
We recently compared the new Goodyear Assurance All-Season to others in this category: Firestone FR710, General AltiMAX RT43 and Yokohama AVID Ascend.
Drivers consistently rate the Firestone FR710 as a strong performer in its Standard Touring All-Season category, with standout scores in treadwear (many 9-10 ratings) and comfort, praised for smooth rides and low noise. Dry traction earns excellent marks (frequent 9-10 scores), delivering confident handling, while wet traction is generally reliable (7-8 range) though hydroplaning resistance shows occasional inconsistency. Winter traction receives mixed feedback (5-6 average), with some drivers noting limited grip in snow and ice. The tire's durability and all-season versatility make it a solid choice for everyday driving, though those prioritizing winter performance may find it less suited for harsh conditions.

The Firestone FR710 delivers reliable wet traction, with most scores between 7-10. Customers highlight confident handling in rainy conditions, though a few note reduced grip during heavy downpours. Its all-season design performs well for intended wet weather use.

Excellent on wet pavement and in rain...
Excellent tire. Very smooth ride. Excellent on wet pavement and in rain. Can't believe how long tread is lasting, tires are 5 years old. Hope I can get them again.

...If you maintain good tire pressure and rotate them, they will last a long time and provide good road feel, even down to the wear bars. But if caught in a late fall snow storm, they perform with better than expected traction (front drive Chevy Cruze) in snow and icy conditions...
Firestone FR710 P215-60 R16. Very good overall 3-season (in New England) tire. Offers good traction, tread life, and they are quiet on all road surfaces. If you maintain good tire pressure and rotate them, they will last a long time and provide good road feel, even down to the wear bars. I do swap them off for four winter tires for the three winter months in New England. But if caught in a late fall snow storm, they perform with better than expected traction (front drive Chevy Cruze) in snow and icy conditions. These tires have never let me down. They were original equipment on the Cruze, lasted well into the mid 60,000 miles. I like them so much I now have a new set on the car. Looking to get another 60-65k miles out of this set.

Dry traction receives strong ratings, with most scoring 8s and 9s for responsive handling and confident grip. While a few lower scores exist, the FR710 excels in all-season touring performance.

...The dry traction of these tires is also pretty good for the type of tire. My 126HP Corolla can spin them up in the dry but only if I try. But these are not some sor of max performance tire either...
These tires came with my car when I purchased it used. They had to have had around 5,000 miles on them at the time.
This tire is rated as a passenger all season tire. As expected it performs as such. I drive spirited every so often and I knew how this tire would respond. Having had them for around 4 years they are predictable.
The good. These tires have phenomenal treadwear. At 38,000 or so miles I have around 4-5/32s left still. These are "Uni-T" so they have been consistent since when they were new. These tires are also decently quiet and comfortable. My car does not have much sound deadening but these tires are not loud or bumpy in any way. The dry traction of these tires is also pretty good for the type of tire. My 126HP Corolla can spin them up in the dry but only if I try. But these are not some sor of max performance tire either. Also these tires have not caused me any pull or vibrations since I have had them. They road force average and are smooth.
My single and largest negative for this tire has to be the wet traction. I can spin these things in any kind of wet starting. I can roll at 15 MPH in 2nd gear and if I floor the gas my 126HP 104,000 mile Corolla will start spinning. When driving in the wet they are not dangerous but you will need to keep an eye on your surroundings and take extra care when driving. Hydroplaning was also noticeable but again nothing tha means these are dangerous. But since I have had them for so long I knew exactly what they would do when they did it. There were no surprises or confusion.
I have not had these tires in snow or ice so I can't rate them there. For a diligent driver who pays extra attention in the wet and wants a well priced, long lasting, affordable tire. I don't know of much that is better. If you are focused on wet grip and spirited driving well then you shouldn't be looking at this class of tire anyway.
All in all if I was on a budget I would buy these again.

Decent tire for dry weather... In dry condition they perform fairly well.
Decent tire for dry weather. However do perform poorly with any wet condition. ( Rain, snow, ice. Etc) but did last for a fair bit of time but will not be buying these again. They perform poorly in wet condition with a light vehicle. In dry condition they perform fairly well.

Most customers rate comfort highly with scores of 8-10, praising smooth ride and noise reduction. While a few note occasional concerns, the FR710 excels in all-season touring comfort.

My Sienna came with these tires. I have driven it for 45,000 miles and have loved these tires. Quiet, extremely smooth ride. Many people that have ridden in the van commented on how nice the ride was. Snow traction wasn't the greatest. I read all the negative reviews and can't believe others are reviewing the same tires. I have been very disapointed by Michelins and Goodyears that were on our other vehicles because they were so noisy. I have been very pleased with these.

...The treadwear has been quite incredibly good compared to practically every other tire I've ever bought. I'm very pleased with the overall performance and will definitely purchase another set after these wear out - hopefully in about 40,000 more miles!...
I purchased my 2014 Chevy Cruze Turbo Diesel with 87,000 miles on it. New Firestone FR710's had just been installed. In 10 months I have driven 20,000 miles. I rotate the tires on every oil change which is about 5,000 miles. I also closely monitor tire pressure. My driving in western PA is 90% state 2 lane roads with a speed limit of 55 mph. The treadwear has been quite incredibly good compared to practically every other tire I've ever bought. I'm very pleased with the overall performance and will definitely purchase another set after these wear out - hopefully in about 40,000 more miles! Highly recommended!

This is the second set of FR710's on my Cruze. The originals lasted for 60,000 miles and according to the dealer who installed the new tires probably had another 8-10,000 in them. I bought a second set which is on the vehicle now and at 55K will go to 60K with ease and beyond. I am in my early 70's and in more than 50 years of car ownership have never had a tire make the warranted mileage with tread to spare. When these are worn too badly I will buy another set!

Winter traction is a significant weakness, with most ratings between 0-5. Customers report slippery in snow, unstable handling, and frequent reports of getting stuck. Lack of ice traction and deep snow performance make it unacceptable for all-season expectations.

...We have now entered our winter season and the wet road traction and light snow traction is really bad now. Last year they were much better but would not say they were great.
These were original equipment tires on my 2016 Chrysler 300 C RWD. They lasted right at 35,000 miles which is quite a bit less that I expected. Picked up a Corolla with virtually new Firestones. The fairly aggressive tread pattern had me optimistic for winter handling in Northern Michigan, after performing well during the summer. The first snowstorm of the season proved the tires needed to be replaced quickly. The cars traction control was engaged almost nonstop. Breaking at intersections was dangerous, and steering was vague. After one day of this the tires were replaced . Night and day difference. If you live in an area with snow and ice stay clear of the Firestones.
