The Transforce AT is Firestone's Commercial All-Terrain light truck tire developed for the drivers of multipurpose full-sized pickups, vans, sport utility and commercial vehicles looking for heavy-duty light truck tires that can combine traction on the highway, as well as at work jobsites and recreation areas. The Transforce AT is designed to provide on- and off-road traction in dry, wet and wintry conditions, including snow.
Transforce AT radials feature a Long Link Carbon tread compound molded into a symmetric tread design that uses notched shoulders, independent intermediate tread blocks and multiple sipes to blend dry-road handling with poor weather traction. Wide circumferential grooves provide hydroplaning resistance while lateral grooves and multiple sipes provide the biting edges needed to enhance snow traction.
The tire's structure includes twin steel belts reinforced by spiral-wrapped nylon to help maintain the tire's shape and enhance performance at highway speeds while a polyester cord body improves ride quality.

User experiences show the Firestone Transforce AT delivers strong dry traction (scores 7-10), aligning with its all-terrain focus. Wet traction shows variability, with ratings split between 5-10, raising concerns about consistency in rainy conditions. Winter performance faces criticism, with many scores below 5 for snow/ice traction. Treadwear receives frequent low marks (scores 0-5), suggesting limited longevity under rugged use. Comfort earns praise for a smooth ride (scores 7-10), though noise levels vary. While capable in dry conditions, buyers prioritizing wet grip, winter reliability, or tread life may find trade-offs with this commercial-focused tire.

...I cannot get these tires to spin on dry pavement unless I apply break pressure... Cornering is good with minimal rolling. You should expect a tall tire under a large load will have some roll but these tires have had the least amount of roll of any other tire I've used...
I've been through Uniroyal Lerado, BFG All Terrain T/A, Pirelli Scorpion, BFG Long Trail, and now Firestone Transforce A/T. My truck has over 220K and it's main purpose is life is to get me to and from work (40 miles/day). On weekends we're using it around the horse farm or pulling our Sundowner 3 horse trailer to eventing. After purchasing and being impressed with the performance of Bridgestone RE750s and most recently RE-01Rs for our BMW I figured why not give them a shot on the truck and got a set of Firestone Transforce A/Ts back in April of 2005. I'm just looking to replace them now in July of 2007 with roughly 45K on them but only because we're planning a long trip from Louisiana to Kentucky next week and I'd rather be rolling on new rubber. They actually could last another 6 or more months. Tread wear is acceptable and I have had no problems trammeling while pulling. We don't have snow down here, but the traction has been what I expected as well. I cannot get these tires to spin on dry pavement unless I apply break pressure. These are not "mudding tires" but have gotten me out of a pinch once or twice when things have gotten slick. Cornering is good with minimal rolling. You should expect a tall tire under a large load will have some roll but these tires have had the least amount of any other tire I've used. Wet traction is good as well. I can break the tires loose if I want to... but for normal driving and a few emergency maneuvers this tire has performed well. It is easy to be impressed with tires when you first get them because they are a drastic change from your last set (which are old and worn out). I am still impressed with these tires at the end of their life and am ordering a new replacement set of Transforce A/Ts today. As for Tire Rack and their service... between the BMW and my truck this will be the 8th set of tires I've ordered. Thanks Tire Rack.

...A few years ago I found these Transforce AT's and have sworn off every other tire. This is by far the best, longest lasting, toughest, best driving tire I have ever used...
I have been driving a canteen truck all day, every weekday for 20 years and have gone through countless sets of tires. A few years ago I found these Transforce AT's and have sworn off every other tire. This is by far the best, longest lasting, toughest, best driving tire I have ever used. They are a little hard to find but worth it. I will use nothing else.

...The ride is still comfortable at these pressures and the performance and tread wear is excellent...
After 71,000+ miles, they need to be replaced, (3-4 /32 tread left.) but they have performed very well in all road conditions until the last 3000 miles or so, then the wet traction started to diminish. The KEY to the tread wear is to keep these tires inflated... on my diesel, long box crew cab, I keep 75 to 80 PSI on the front and 60 PSI on the rear (More if towing or fully loaded.) . The ride is still comfortable at these pressures and the performance and tread wear is excellent. These are designed for commercial use and need the higher pressures. I highly recommend these tires for the price. These were $200 less than the competition. (Michelin)

...not too aggressive, yet enough to get us through the mud spots and loose fill dirt without roaring on the road...
50k plus on the Firestone Transforce A/T tires and still going strong. Load Range "E", used on commercial service truck (Dodge 2500 diesel) that is loaded heavy at all times. Used daily off road on new construction job sites, great traction for our needs--not too agressive, yet enough to get us through the mud spots and loose fill dirt without "roaring" on the road. Great sidewall stiffness and resistance to cuts from sharp rocks. For our needs (we have a small fleet of 17 trucks) this tire is the best since the old firestone "steeltex". All of our trucks run these tires, 80 psi all around, rotate at 5k and they have always delivered at least 50k in mileage. Best tire for the money and we have tried all brands (well known and not so well known). Tires wear very well, balance well, and still perform well with 50k miles on them--will replace before winter for upcoming bad weather--yet they still will have plenty of tread left on them

Many customers report mediocre wet traction, with scores between 0-5. Concerns include sliding and hydroplaning, making wet performance disappointing for an All-Terrain tire.

...On my Crew cab the only time these tires had any wet pavement traction was when I had a good load in the bed, but when it was empty I could spin these tires all day at not even a quarter throttle... I got sick and tired of spinning at stop signs and stop lights when I tried to get moving on wet pavement...
Bought a full set for my crew cab on recomendation of mechanic at teh shop I normally go to, never again. I only remembered later on that a 92 4x4 my parents used to have had the same tires, and it could get stuck in less then 5in of snow. On my Crew cab the only time these tires had any wet pavement traction was when I had a good load in the bed, but when it was empty I could spin these tires all day at not even a quarter throttle, and I also nearly got stuck on wet grass in my parents front yard. These are not on/off road tires, if anything they should be considered highway all terrain with an emphasis on highway. Also the tread is completely wrong for good traction on anything other then dry pavement with the two nearly solid bands of tread along the outside, it gives water and other movables only two directions to go, front, or back. the transforce tires on my truck have more then enough tread left to last awhile but I've already replaced two because I got sick and tired of spinnign at stop signs and stop lights when I tried to get moving on wet pavement, and once I get the extra money I will be replacing the other two and NEVER buying these tires again.

These tires our downright dangerous in slippery conditions (ice & heavy rain) in an unloaded truck with a lot of torque (diesel). I don't know why Ram decided to put such terrible tires on these Trucks as OEM when Michelin and Goodyear are similarly priced, can't wait to swap these out.

Worst tire I have ever owned. Shamefull to even put a tire like this on a $60,000 truck. I've owned many Ram trucks, and it is NOT the truck causing the extremely fast wear and poor wet performance. No reason a truck tire should vaporize in 22,000 miles. Wet performance is down right dangerous. I'm happy to see that Michelin is offering a tire in this size and I will be installing a set ASAP!

Winter traction shows concerning inconsistency, with many scores between 0-5 indicating slippery conditions, getting stuck, and lack of snow/ice grip. While some rate 9s-10s, most feedback highlights unacceptable winter performance for an all-terrain tire.

These tires came stock on my 2019 ram 2500 crew cab that I bought used with 4000 miles in 2020. For most purposes they get the job done driving around town to jobsites, dump run, towing trailers, now only in the summer. However, they are a downright hazard in any type of winter weather, especially when snow plowing. They constantly slid around, while pushing snow, activating the useless stability control system in my truck, resulting in it getting stuck in a couple inches of snow due to the brakes activating each time it slid however slightly- which I constant with the tires. A couple years ago, after making a pass uphill and stopping at the snowbank, the truck slid backwards with all four wheels locked turning 90° and hit a 4 foot diameter log on the side of the road on the rear quarter. $7000 later I had wished I had sprung for a better or (Snow) tire. One expects that a stock tire on 2500 or larger pick up truck could handle any common on-road “truck” driving. My studded master crafts were a game changer plowing snow. I have continued to run these Firestones as summer tire but will be replacing them with something else this year. These tires have approximately 20,000 miles on them, but are significantly worn, though rotated regularly. Obviously, some of the wear was due to trying to get unstuck many times back when I used them in the winter. They have not been used, off-road, and only occasionally on un-maintained dirt roads. They were used regularly on a maintained dirt road. If you never see snow, it is an okay, typical stock tire that rides comfortably, is quiet, and wears quickly.

...Even in 4wd, these tires will spin coming out of my driveway with just a trace of snow on the ground. That never happened in any of the tires I ran on my previous trucks...
This set of tires came standard when I purchased my 2015 Ram. These are easily the worst set of OEM tires I've ever seen. I rotate tires on all my vehicles between 5 and 10 thousand miles and I don't drive like a maniac and yet these tires are already just a hair less than half worn. At this rate I'll be needing a new set within the next year, which is bad enough, but the tires also ---- in wet weather and snow. Even in 4wd, these tires will spin coming out of my driveway with just a trace of snow on the ground. That never happened in any of the tires I ran on my previous trucks. Firestone and Ram should be ashamed to put this kind of junk on any vehicle.

Treadwear ratings are split, with many scoring 0-5 due to rapid wear and premature replacement. While some give 9-10, dissatisfaction is common. Customers report excessive wear and unimpressive mileage, needing improvement for rugged use.

...Everything about this tire is great except the wear. I rotated every 5000 miles and at 15,000 miles the rears are shot with the fronts not far behind. Absolutely the worst wearing tire I have ever purchased!...
I put a set of four of these tires on my truck a little more than a year ago. Everything about this tire is great except the wear. I rotated every 5000 miles and at 15,000 miles the rears are shot with the fronts not far behind. Absolutely the worst wearing tire I have ever purchased! I even contacted Firestone directly to see if this might have been a factory defect and they refused to do anything. This lack of support for an obvious problem (that I see others have experienced) together with the totally unacceptable wear leads me to say I would NEVER buy another Firestone tire. These tires wore out far too fast and I'm a conservative driver. My truck has been checked and there is no problem with the vehicle. Never again!!!

...Dealership recommended replacing tires when I only had 27,000 miles on them but I opted to push it. I haul a 35 ft camper down a lot of highways throughout the spring/summer months and these tires have not held up very well...
OEM tires on my truck and after 33K miles, I'm overdue for new rubber. Dealership recommended replacing tires when I only had 27,000 miles on them but I opted to push it. I haul a 35 ft camper down a lot of highways throughout the spring/summer months and these tires have not held up very well. Without pulling a load, the handling is fine on dry pavement. Minimal road noise that I noticed, traction was good through most modest conditions. Off road capabilities are lacking with this one. I didn't notice very good traction on loose (maintained) gravel roads at crawling speeds. Through light snow (less than 6 inches) traction was decent but nothing to write home about. I'd definitely would not recommend these tires to anyone pulling/hauling based on the tread life alone.
