The Winterforce 2 is Firestone's Studdable Winter/Snow tire designed for the owners of coupes, sedans and minivans looking for traditional wintertime traction on dry, wet and snow-covered roads.
Firestone Winterforce 2 radials feature a special cold-weather compound molded into a directional tread pattern. Deep circumferential grooves, wide lateral notches and open shoulder slots help channel slush and standing water away from the contact patch to aid hydroplaning resistance, and the high sipe density tread pattern provides thousands of biting edges for grip in snow and on ice. The tire's internal structure includes twin steel belts on top of a polyester casing to combine strength with ride quality.
Winterforce 2 radials meet the industry's severe snow service requirements and are branded with the three-peak mountain
snowflake (3PMSF) symbol.
Install Winterforce 2 tires in sets of four only.
Molded to accept optional TSMI #11 blue-colored metallic winter studs. (225/40R18, 225/55R18 and 235/50R18 are not studdable at this time.)

...Very good in the rain as well. Have had lots of rain to test with...
Only had them on for about a month or more. Little loud with the studs but that is to be expected. Awesome in light snow and ice. Haven't had to battle more than 4 inches yet but I'm excited to try. Very good in the rain as well. Have had lots of rain to test with. Excellent purchase so far and much cheaper than some of the other options. Would definitely buy again.

...very good on wet roads, have never hydroplaned...
I currently own a 2002 Nissan Frontier 4X4 Pickup and 2 Honda CRV's 1997 & 2005. I have Firestone Winterforce II tires on two of them. Also in the past 10 years I have also used them on several Subaru's. Great Traction, in both light and heavy snow. Good on icy spots in the road. A little noisy on dry pavement. Also very good on wet roads, have never hydroplaned. Looking to replace the current Winterforce tires on the 97 Honda and I will again be using the Winterforce II. Always priced right, under $100!!

The Firestone Winterforce 2 delivers excellent snow and deep snow traction, with most ratings scoring 9s and 10s. Ice traction shows strong performance in intended winter conditions, though a few lower scores suggest variability on slick surfaces. Customers praise reliable grip and confident handling in snowy environments.

Wow what a Great snow tire,I would recommend these to anyone who doesn't want to get stuck ,great stability in the deep stuff at 20k there still going strong and have great wear,! Now what I didn't like when they are new they have so much tread in the dry around corners they felt squirmy it took a bit to get used to it once we wore off the new they felt better. Now Im used to Z rated tires so don't expect them to feel like one. Off Road they would be -----in on an SCCA off road Rallys!

Solid Winter Performance, Quirky on Dry Roads
I purchased the Firestone Winterforce 2 tires for my 2021 Mazda MX-5 as a dedicated winter setup, and they’ve handled snow, ice, and wet conditions impressively well. The grip in winter weather is confidence-inspiring, making cold-weather driving much safer and more predictable.
That said, on dry roads, they have a somewhat odd ride feel—not as smooth or connected as summer or all-season tires. They also don’t feel quite as sticky, which is expected for a true winter tire.
Overall, if you're looking for great winter traction at a solid price, these do the job well. Just keep in mind that they may not feel as refined on dry pavement.

I have previously bought far more expensive tires; these rate right up there with those! Love these Firestones! Not noisy, great cornering, snow is a piece of cake in my rear wheel drive!

...Dry traction is great, the tires are also very quiet and produce no noise from what I can (can't) hear...
I've only had these tires about 400 miles, but in that short amount of time, I've been thoroughly impressed.
I live in Buffalo, NY, and these tires have dealt with an ice storm, and two lake effect snow storms that produced well over 12" of snow during each storm. This is still early in the winter, so there's plenty more to come over the next few months.
Ice traction is incredible. I had to drive nearly 3 miles on an inch of ice. My truck is RWD, and the tires helped me get down that stretch of road with ZERO issues. I passed 4 vehicles that were in the ditch as a result of the ice (should've had some Winterforces on their cars).
Deep snow traction is great. 6-12" of heavy packed snow was no match for the tires. Heavy rain on the highway resulted in no hydroplaning whatsoever.
Grip is phenomenal while turning on icy, snowy, and rainy roads. Dry traction is great, the tires are also very quiet and produce no noise from what I can (can't) hear. I have a few friends who have these tires on their cars, one is a Subaru Legacy, the other a Chevy SUV. Both of those friends are also huge fans of these tires, one of them even has a studded set.

...Let's just say I was amazed on the ride, quiet, very responsive nature of this tire...
I own an older Ford Ranger and the factory original tire size of p225/70r/14" was discontinued and nearly impossible to find at a reasonable price. I compared a p205/70r/15" and was surprised to find out there was only about .1 tenth of an inch difference in the 2 tires. I knew a friend who had a newer Ranger with 15 inch rims I bought those and bought the Firestone Winter Force 2 set of 4 p205/70r/15's. Let's just say I was amazed on the ride, quiet, very responsive nature of this tire. I live in Southern Michigan and we get our fair share of snow in the Winter and I needed a tire for traction as well as handling. This tire lives up to my expectations and I absolutely would recommend it to anyone who needs a more aggressive tire in Winter weather as well as wet rainy weather. I give Tire Rack 5 stars for delivering fast, friendly, knowledgeable service with customer satisfaction as their goal. I ordered the tires on 12-19-2018 they called me on 12-20-2018 and told me I could pick them up. All that aside I give these tires a 5 STAR Rating.
