AltiMAX RT45 is a versatile Grand Touring All-Season tire for sedans, coupes, and CUVs, developed for drivers seeking a balance of all-season handling, comfort, and longevity. The AltiMAX RT45 offers confident dry and wet performance as well as satisfying light snow traction.
The General AltiMAX RT45 tire's all-season compound is molded into a symmetric tread pattern featuring robust interlocking tread blocks for reliable handling and satisfying dry grip. Four circumferential grooves evacuate water to promote wet weather traction and hydroplaning resistance. Lateral voids, shoulder slots, and sipes across the footprint create additional biting edges for improved traction in slippery conditions. The AltiMAX RT45 also comes equipped with technology to visually alert drivers of wear issues. Visual Alignment Indicators (VAI) on the shoulder blocks wear off evenly to indicate proper alignment. Uneven wear warns the driver of alignment issues. A Replacement Tire Monitor (RTM), imprinted into the AltiMAX RT45 center rib wears to read, "REPLACE TIRE" when change is needed.
The General AltiMAX RT45 internal construction consists of two steel belts atop a polyester casing. A polyamide reinforcement ply further stabilizes the tread to provide high-speed handling and durability.

...The vast majority of our driving is on pavement, dry and wet, where these tires perform very well...
These replaced a misworn set of older Michelins that were on this, new to us, Subaru. It's been smooth sailing ever since. The vast majority of our driving is on pavement, dry and wet, where these tires perform very well. We don't pile up miles so cannot attest to longevity. Handling is very predictable. Braking is sure and straight. If there is any road/tire noise, we never considered it until prompted by this survey, it is imperceptible.

...I have not once hydroplaned, lost traction in the wet, got squirrley on the on-/off ramps, or any other traction/grip problem...
OK.... I have the VERY FIRST SET of General Altimax RT45s ever sold. General sent them to me free of charge in order for me to review them when used on my 1999 Toyota Camry. My Camry is alway maintained and is a highway cruiser. I drive 100 miles / day all high-speed highway, and I amin the left lane. While I don't race around or consider my driving style "spirited", I am cookin' a lot of broccoli in the left lane. I live in the middle when traveling. Anyway, I had originally meant to have these RT45s on year-round, but I also am testing a front set of MasterCraft Glacier Trex snow tires, so the front RT's only stay on 8 mos of the year. The rear RTs have been on constantly since new. I love the RT45s almost as much as I loved my previous Altimax RT43s ride, but the 45's definitely are a longer lasting tire. I have not once hydroplaned, lost traction in the wet, got squirrley on the on-/off ramps, or any other traction/grip problem. Some of it may be due to having an underpowered (normally aspirated) engine, but I assure you, it goes 80-90 just fine. I have had no emergency stops or things I needed to avoid with about 30,000 miles on them, so either I'm lucky or careful. The car stops straight with Akebono Ceramic pads up front and Brembo ceramic shoes in the rear. The tires are wearing dead center and clean with no scuffing. The have never been rotated, however, this year I'll rotate the fronts side to side. My only complaint is the wear strip indicator in the middle that "tells you" when to replace the tire. I tell tire shops when to replace my tires. I don't need my tire company telling tire shops to not let my car out of the shop b/c a tire says so. That's unnecessary. I intend to drive these tires to the time I deem them not effective for MY driving needs, which I'm fully capable of doing. Again, with so few choices of 14" tires out there, these are your best bet on an older Camry. JMHO.

...I live in the PNW and it rains here, so far great in the wet...
Great tire for the price. Definitely doesn’t have the grip and cornering ability of the stock Tesla tires. But my model y is not a nascar. The noise level is maybe a little bit louder from the stock Michelin tires. I live in the PNW and it rains here, so far great in the wet. For the price I would and will buy them again.

Bought them once and will totally buy them again, fantastic snow and ice performance right up to the end. 60k miles on them and if my alignment was better I think I could have gotten 80k at least. (Toe is set wrong, not the tires fault)

So much better than OEM. Their grippy, regular amount of noise, and are reliable. Living in Maine and regularly recreating in the mountains, we get hail, slush, snow, black ice and rain…everything. This is the third pair of these Generals we’ve had on our third Forester. We always feel a big difference after replacing the tires that are on the car upon purchase. This is what I feel comfortable putting on for the car my wife regularly drives in with my son in bad weather.

I purchased these tires for my wife's 2017 Nissan Altima which has approx. 56,000 miles and still had the original set of factory tires on it, it's only been about 2 months and we've only driven about 1,000 miles so far , but the car has handled well since the install and so far it has driven well in the snow. We're pretty satisfied with the selection of these tires and once we've put more miles on these tires I'll be able to form a better opinion of them.

...Steering precision, stability, comfort and road noise superior...
This is my second set of Altimax tires on my car. The first ones (Altimax R43s which lasted over 50,000 miles) were excellent, but these new model (Altimax R45) are even better. Steering precision, stability, comfort and road noise superior. I have not driven them in the rain yet, but the old 43s were excellent, so I dont expect the 45s to be different. I highly recommend these tires and the price is reasonable.

This is the second set of these tires that I have purchased. The 1st set was excellent in tire wear and comfort. They are a little noisy but so is my vehicle. Would absolutely recommend for highway driving. I drive about 30k a year.
