The G-MAX AS-07 hones over a century of General Tire's development into an Ultra High Performance All-Season tire designed for the driving needs of sporty sedans, crossovers, SUVs and light trucks looking for a tire that delivers the fine handling characteristics they expect and can also handle a myriad of weather conditions, even light snow.
Building on the success of their previous innovations, the G-MAX AS-07 features a performance-focused compound molded into a new asymmetric tread pattern for adaptable year-round performance. A strong center rib provides responsive steering and solid on-center feel, while the wide outboard tread blocks put more rubber on the road to maintain grip under hard, high-speed cornering. A trio of circumferential grooves starting from the inboard shoulder join a fourth, staggered outboard groove to resist hydroplaning, directing water from the contact patch when the road turns wet. The G-MAX AS-07 was intended to withstand the cold too, with an all-season compound and siping to ensure the biting edges necessary for snow traction are there for every revolution of the wheel.
Internally, the G-MAX AS-07 features a polyester body casing extended into a high turn-up in the sidewall for additional reinforcement and stability at high speeds. Twin steel belts capped with a dual-layer polyamide reinforcement cap support the tread for uniform handling and durability.

...This January has started with a Winter punch. The snow has piled up but the deep tread design just rolls through that snow easily...
I have always loved General Tires every since my Grandfather made them at the factory in Akron Ohio. The name stood for quality and endurance. I bought this set of tires to replace a set of General Tires. I can count on them wearing well and offering a smoother ride. The stability decreases gas mileage and the pressure doesn’t fluctuate significantly when the season changes. This January has started with a Winter punch. The snow has piled up but the deep tread design just rolls through that snow easily. This was the easiest purchase for tires that I ever made. Tire Rack was great. They suggested tires for my make and model car. I picked the ones I wanted and put in the right size, paid and that was it. This was an absolute pleasure and I will do it again for my next purchase.

...Dry traction is better. Much better than the BF Goodrich tires that were on there. This has a two-fold advantage. Surefooted acceleration. And way-way less tire smoke inside the open cabin.
2006 MB CLK350 V6 ragtop, 72k miles. Creampuff. Lori's car. New to us in May.
The car came with the wrong size tires. The previous owner put front tires on the front and front tires on the REAR. Yikes, the car is designed as a staggered set up. Front 225/45/R17. Rear 245/40/R17. It looked goofy too. These Generals are working out just fine. Definitely a stiffer sidewall. You'd expect that with an Ultra-High-Performance tire. None the less, the tires ride smooth. Yes, I pick up on the stiffness, Lori does not (prude). Dry traction is better. Much better than the BF Goodrich tires that were on there. This has a two-fold advantage. Surefooted acceleration. And way-way less tire smoke inside the open cabin. Pew. She was always greasing the rear tires in a left hander off a slow corner. Yep.
Stinky tire smoke (mostly) eliminated.
Easy now, dear!
We will update with more miles logged. For now, a thumbs up.

My car is a 2006 Mustang GT, driven in the Chicago area. I haven't had these tires in water or snow yet. So far, they are a huge improvement in ride-quality over my worn-out Falken Ziex ZE612's. This is my first round of tires of this size on a vehicle, so these are my rookie-impressions. I feel the tires ride great, handle great and are not noticeably noisy. Great off-the-line traction as well. I wanted an all-season tire as opposed to a summer tire, because I am going to get caught in the rain from time to time and didn't want to sacrifice wet-road traction for more dry-road traction. These were also more reasonably priced than tires such as the Pilot Sport A/S 4's, and had more available reviews to read than the [cheaper] Firestone Firehawk AS V2's. I was looking hard at the V2's to save some money, but there just weren't enough positive reviews so I was nervous. I would definitely buy these G-MAX AS-07's again, and going thru TireRack with Discount Tire mounting was a smooth, easy process.

...But, about the tires, they transformed the feel of my car in both comfort and confidence... As I said, (for my 73-year-old, Alfa and Audi driving purposes) the driving was transformed; the car just feels more 'right'.
I praised Tire Rack in my review of the Moda wheels I also bought: Price: great Rep's Knowledge: great Service: great Delivery Time: great. But, about the tires, they transformed the feel of my car in both comfort and confidence. I was never REALLY happy driving my GLA -- I figured it was just a "cheapest car they make" thing from Mercedes -- and was preparing to sell it (4+ years; 26,000 miles; and pretty-well-worn Contis). Everything else about the car is Okay-to-really-good, so I figured "New tires might help the sale.". Not wanting to invest over $2000 in replacement run-flats I decided to try going down from 19" to 17" ( Here is where Tire Rack's expertise came into play.) As I said, (for my 73-year-old, Alfa and Audi driving purposes) the driving was transformed; the car just feels more "right." I now plan on keeping this car for another 4 or 5 years.

...I am amazed at how much smoother riding my car feels with these tires... The nature of the Eclipse is not a super quiet or super plush ride, but these tires do their part to improve upon that...
Very pleased so far. I am amazed at how much smoother riding my car feels with these tires. No complaints with handling; I feel confident accelerating on curving entrance ramps. The nature of the Eclipse is not a super quiet or super plush ride, but these tires do their part to improve upon that. No experience yet on snow and the Eclipse tends to be a bit squirrelly in slippery conditions, but hopefully I’ll have better driving this winter. Because of my driving style I wanted an All-Weather Performance tire but had a budget. These Generals were a good choice and met both my requirements.

This is the 4th set of these tires I have purchased for my Mercedes C300 with the AMG package. I have offset rims from factory so I am un able to rotate the tires so Im sure I'd get a lot more miles if I could rotate. The facory sells my car with run flat tires and super slick road racing tires meant for performnce not longevity. I hated the tires so after much reaseacr I was able to find these all season tires that ride and last a bit longer than the factory run flats. Very smooth and very quiet and handle extremely well when needed. So tire rack is very quick and the price seems great so I keep them on speed dial as I need a set yearly as I live in the mountians with lots of curvy roads. I do drive very grandpa like howver Im still in the curvy mountain roads that need a quiet well rounded all season tire and these are it!! Hope this helps someone else. They are a must have for me!

Purchased these based on the 4 star reviews. When initially installed they seemed average and serviceable. 1.5 years later and only 15,000 city/highway miles driven, there are visible threads showing on the tires and I now need to contact customer service for support. This is unacceptable. For context, my previous Goodyear Assurance tires lasted 5 years without threads exposing themselves with the same amount of driving miles on the same vehicle. Let this be a cautionary tale if you are looking to purchase these to save some money upfront. Too good to be true applies here.
