The Grabber HTS 60 is General Tire's Highway All-Season tire developed for the drivers of crossover and sport utility vehicles, as well as pickup trucks and full-size vans. Designed to combine style, comfort, durability and performance, Grabber HTS 60 tires blend pleasant road manners, a long life and year-round all-season traction, even in light snow.

General Grabber HTS 60Grabber HTS 60 tires feature a robust cut- and chip-resistant compound that improves treadlife in rugged service conditions. This compound is molded into size-specific, vehicle-application-tuned tread patterns. Beginning with a design combining a strong continuous center rib flanked by independent intermediate tread blocks, sound barrier ribs and notched shoulders, lighter-duty sizes have a higher sipe density to enhance wet road and wintertime grip while heavier-duty sizes are optimized to further enhance stability under heavy load conditions.

The tire's internal structure begins with a cushioned absorption layer of rubber under the tread to help isolate the vehicle from road disturbances for a more comfortable ride. The Grabber HTS 60 tire's wide, flat footprint is supported by ultra-high-strength steel belts reinforced with spirally wrapped nylon to deliver exceptional penetration resistance and even footprint pressure for excellent braking and confident stability under all approved load conditions.

I came to report the wet traction. I am very pleased with the traction this tire provides on wet pavement. I can hit the pedal really hard and still not experience spin.
Impressive.
I'll be back to report what I find at the 10,000 mark.

These replaced the General Grabber ATX tires that had about 45000 miles on them.

I am suggesting NOT to rotate tires from right to left. I had two tires begin to suffer belt separation at 43000 miles. Normally I would get 50000 miles before replacing the Grabbers but with this set I was rotating them in X pattern. I suspect even steel belted radials should not be swapped from right to left. Keep them on the same side or you might experience belt separation. That never happened before with the General tires so I am blaming the right to left swap.

I currently have over 79,000 miles (yes you read that right) on my General Grabbers and I am getting ready to replace them this weekend with the same. Amazing tire! Fantastic in rain. I¿ve been caught in several severe rain storms (twice up in the twisty Smoky Mountain roads) and these tires cut right through the heavy rains and handled beautifully through those winding roads. Mamy times I¿ve driven through heavy snow up to 8 inches with ease, but to be fair I should also give credit to the great AWD system on my Subaru. Just a little history of what type of driving my tires have gone through. Lots of steep gravel roads, dirt roads and old logging roads that i need to get through because of my work, and many many miles on some of the worst roads up and down on thr east coast. At least 5000 miles pulling over 1500 lbs on a trailer, Today we had 6 or 7 inches of snow in the Northeast and even tough they have 79,000 miles on them. 1 never had an issue with traction. These tires have been abused and I never had issues with them. I highly recommend them.

...Traction has never been an issue regardless of the weather...

Great tire. I live in Southwestern Pa. where we get our fair share of snow and ice along with weather ravaged roads, This is the 4th set of tires on this car and they are by far the best yet. An average set of tires lasts around 30k around here and these look like they will do that and a little more. The first thing I noticed was how quiet they were and how smooth the ride was along with a much greater sense of steering response. Traction has never been an issue regardless of the weather. This a great tire especially considering the price. You can't go wrong with this tire.

...They were great in light snow and even slightly icy conditions. We made many trips to Whistler Canada, over the Cascade Mtns to Eastern Washington and Idaho...

Hello Tire Rack, Thank You for recommending the General HTC tires for my 2007 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer. They have been great performers even at 63,000 miles, just started to touch the last wear marker. They were great in light snow and even slightly icy conditions. We made many trips to Whistler Canada, over the Cascade Mtns to Eastern Washington and Idaho. I'm finally changing these tires for another which your web-site recommended (on sale price was hard to resist), these tires could last another 5K to 10K but the wet weather performance suffer when it is not in 4x4. 63,000 miles and still perform great! Extremely Quiet on Highway, very even wear when inflated 40-42 psi (est. 2-4 psi more than recommended). This will be my last review, after 6 years, for General HTC. Thank You.

Better than AT's for paved roads(obviously): quieter, better handling and steering response, better hydroplane resistance, and even better when there's packed or light snow. The downside, and I saw it mentioned a few times before, is that these tires seem to go out of balance very quickly, nullifying any benefits of the smooth riding aspects of an all-season tire on the highway. Not sure how a small-lugged tire can go out of balance so badly; if it were an AT or MT it would make sense with all of that extra rotating mass.

...out handle the BFG tires by a good bit. The sidewall doesn't flex nearly as much... The grip level is better than the BFGs, which were better than the old General tires... They don't squeal much at all under hard cornering...

Well so far I have been impressed. My truck came with the Original General HTS tires. They were okay, but squealed a lot in hard cornering, and overall grip wasn't amazing. Switched to BFG Longtrail tires which were a good improvement. Now I decided to give the General HTS60 tires a try. They out handle the BFG tires by a good bit. The sidewall doesn't flex nearly as much. My truck has pretty tall sidewalls; so it is noticeable. The grip level is better than the BFGs, which were better than the old General tires I had. The noise from them is minimal. They don't squeal much at all under hard cornering.

The wet handling seems good, but have only had a few days of rain to test this on so far.

Overall I feel that they out handle the BFG Longtrails I had last, they claim to have a longer life (we'll see about that as time goes on), and they were a good bit less expensive. Thumbs up to the General HTS60.

I read some reviews before I bought the General Grabber HTS60s. I have been very happy with them. I bought my 1999 F-150 used and it had normal passenger car tires on it at the time. It handled TERRIBLE! Way too soft a ride (no feel) and couldn't handle any sort of lively cornering (understeer). These tires cured both of those issues. Highly recommended!

...Like I said this is my second pair I got over 50k out of my first set and I drive my truck with spirit from time to time...

This is set # 2 for me. I usually run them close to max inflation level outside of winter months as to help with the understeer on my 2003 F150 standard cab short bed. I get more of a car like steering, cornering and spirited driving experience. Not to mention increase fuel economy of 2 to 3 mpg on average. During the snow season I deflate them for added snow traction. These tires are quiet but do start to get a bit of noise as they get toward the end of service life, but it is not a deal breaker for me. It's not like the noise is overwhelming just not as quiet as when new, Like I said this is my second pair I got over 50k out of my first set and I drive my truck with spirit from time to time. All in all as long as these tires are manufactured I'll be buying them

...I have owned the tires for 4 1/2 years and have driven just over 20,000 miles. In that time, the tread depth has gone from 11/32" when new to 8/32" now, and they have worn very evenly. If that rate of wear continues, the tires will last about 40,000 more miles, or 60,000 miles total...

My tires have an XL load rating (2,998 lbs per tire), which is comparable to a D rated LT tire. I see that the XL is no longer available in my size, so I would have to go with the standard load, which is 2,721 lbs. per tire (which is what is recommended by the truck manufacturer for this truck model). I went with the XL when I bought the tires because I pull a trailer and wanted a little more stability. When I replace these tires, if I decide to buy a different tire, it will be because I decide to go with an all-terrain tire. For a highway tire, these tires have done a commendable job when I have driven off-road, such as when I took my children deer hunting, up and down steep unimproved dirt roads without a complaint. I have owned the tires for 4 1/2 years and have driven just over 20,000 miles. In that time, the tread depth has gone from 11/32" when new to 8/32" now, and they have worn very evenly. If that rate of wear continues, the tires will last about 40,000 more miles, or 60,000 miles total. At the rate I drive, I will probably have to replace them because of age before they wear out. I think the rate of wear is outstanding on a truck. If you do the math, you will see that I drive my truck an average of just under 5,000 miles per year. Approximately 30-40% of the miles on these tires has been pulling a 6,000 lb. travel trailer. I experience little trailer sway. I know that factors other than tires will contribute to sway, but the fact that I experience little sway indicates that the tires are behaving themselves very well when the trailer is attached. All in all, these tires are excellent.
